AI Summary
This report details system design activities 5 and 6, focusing on fact-finding techniques and their application in information system development. Activity 5 explores various fact-finding methods, including documentation review, observation, and questionnaires, recommending research as a key approach. The report outlines a data collection process, selecting staff members like inventory and transaction managers for interviews, and providing sample interview questions. An interview plan is also detailed, specifying suitable timings for interviews. Activity 6 addresses the functions required in a new information system, such as managing transactions, customer classifications, and order processes. It defines roles for system interaction and suggests additional features like automated updates and data cross-checking. The report includes a use case diagram illustrating system access for different roles and an activity diagram representing the order placement process. References to relevant books and journals are also provided, offering a comprehensive overview of the system design process.

ACTIVITY 5
Fact Finding Techniques
There are different fact finding techniques can be used in process of finding requirements
in a particular information system for effective information management and transaction process.
Some of main techniques other then interviewing are- Examining documentation that consists of
important information. By making observation process of the operations, research process and
questionnaire process. These are most important process that can be used by the individual
person to get effective information about system requirements (Soler, Melero and Luzón, 2017)
. For this case study different process can be used in the data collection process that can be used
to evaluste the requirements of the particular information system. For this condition research
process will be one of the most effective process to get effective information about the
requirement of the system.
Recommendation for Fact Finding Technique
For the process of fact finding researching is one of the best solution because this process
will help the individual person to understand whole condition effectively I order to provide with
effective system to manage information of farm effectively. There are different [processes can be
used in order to improve he researches process to collect relevant and crucial information. Some
most common process that can be used to make research relevant are- making effective
scheduling can help the researcher to get efficient data related to the information system
requirement. Primary data can be used to evaluate the issues that are faced by people related to
the information management. Making short notes can help the researcher to consider minor
things to develop effective data base to develop better information system.
Selection of the Staff Members for Data Collection
There are different people are available on the work place who are specifically provided
with some responsibilities. To evaluate and analysis basic requirement of system this is
important for researcher to include people of organization to find various challenges that are
faced by them on the work place regarding information management to known the basic issues
and challenge in the information management process (Jia, Guo and Barnes, 2017). In the
research process inventory manager and transaction manager can be included in the research
process,. This is how involvement of inventory manager and transaction manager can help them
to gather effective data of organization.

Question for Interview Process
Interview Questions for Inventory Manager
1. What are your responsibilities on the work place?
2. Do you think that you are efficient with your responsibilities?
3. Which thing you like most about your job?
4. Which task is most difficult with in your job?
5. What are main challenges you have faced in the process of the inventory management?
6. Do you think that an effective information system will help you to work more
efficiently?
7. Do you know how to operate basic computer system?
Interview Question for Transaction Manager
1. What are your daily routine tasks?
2. Which tasks need frequent attention within your job?
3. Do you think that you are efficient to handle all tasks efficiently?
4. What is most challenging task in your job role?
5. Have you ever faced difficulty in managing information related to the daily transactions.
6. Do you think that an effective information can reduce your work load more efficiently.
7. What kind of information you handle on routine basis?
8. Do you fill it is challenging to perform multiple operations at same time like managing
data along with customer handling?
Interview Plan for Research process
For the interview process this is important to make contact with respondent in free time
because in this free time people will be able to provide better information. The timing of the
interview could be after the work hours or after working days. These respondents can be
contacted on weekends. This timing will be most suitable for the process of the interview.
Respondent Time and Day
Inventory Manager In Working days after work hours. 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Transaction Manager In weekends on lunch time. 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

ACTIVITY 6
Functions that are Need to be Handled
There are some operations that are need to be handled with new information system are
related to the challenges that are faced by people with in the management of information. All this
information is related to daily routine transactions and operations. Classification of regular
customers and standard customer who are frequent (Iivari, 2017). The current system of getting
order is not efficient so new information system need better process for order placement. The
money transaction data also need to be effectively handled in the new information system.
Information related to the transaction of goods also need to be managed through new system. To
reduce the errors in financial information management new system should have better cross
checking system. For the effective handling of data and goods it is important to have better
communication process.
Roles for the Interaction with Information System
There are different people in the organization who need to interact with the information
system are people who are assigned with tasks to manage the data for company. These people are
transaction manager, inventory manager and account manager.
Additional Features of Information System
There are some additional features are required in the information system to improve the
operations of the organization. The additional features that will be helpful for organization are-
Automatic soft ware updating process, Data cross checking, data error detection, forecasting for
demand and supply chain, automatic data entry process, transaction traction system, block chain
system for supply chain process and regular security updates.

Use Case Diagram
In this Use case diagram the various activities that are accessible to different people in
organization has been represented. There are three company authority are presented in the use
case diagram who can access various functions in the information management system. The
consumer in information system is only able to place a order, cancel order and account create.
Use Case Information
This use case diagram is providing information regarding to authority to access various
functions which are available in information system. There are some authorities in organization
who have authority to access al the features of the information system and some people are
allotted with accessibility to limited functions (Davis and Yen, 2018). For example the owner of
the company Mr Kevin and Betty have ability to access all the functions of information system.
Activity Diagram
IN the process of placing an order for vegetables in system of organization there is a
specific process is followed by the consumer which is represented in the activity diagram below.
Th whole process of the order placement starts with creation of account. After creting the

account customer are lead to the creating list of selecting goods. After these process list of
products is checked for final payment process. If customer wants to cancel this process then they
will be able to erase the complete list. After this step they are provided with choice to make new
list of log out from the system (Connor, Dennehy and Conboy, 2017). By this process customer
will be able to place order and make payment. By following this process customer can easily get
the products which they required.
