Introduction
The report deals with the implementation of an SSM service for the Mindy Hair. System
analysis and modelling is an important part for any type of business. The Mindy Hair owner
Jordan Meyer is looking to improve the system and automate the process for the organization.
The report is used for the description of the details of the systems present in the Mindy Hair
organization. The report is also described with the use of illustration so that reader can easily the
imagine the system.
The report briefly describes the background of the organization and also provides he
scope for the current system. The documentation procedures are used for describing thee
procedures in the organization. The descriptions have also been aided with some additional
illustrations such as the Entity Relationship diagrams and the Data Flow Diagrams.
Organization Background
From the provided case study, it is known that the owner of the Mindy Hair is Jordan
Meyer and the business have been acquired by Jordan from his father. The business is about a
small salon and the business have expanded from time and now the business located across three
other locations in the country. The business has been doing very well however there are further
scope for improvement in business which can take place by reducing the cost of the business and
increasing the efficiency of the service provided to the customers. In addition to this,
organization is also looking to cope up with the advancements in technology. The main focus of
the organization is on implementation of SMS service for the customers which would update
them about the services that they have opted for. In addition to this, an automated process and
online service have also been planned by the company for their customers. The company is also
looking to implement a loyalty service and looking to incorporate themselves with the social
networks.
Scope of the Current System
The current system consists of three branches that operates from Melbourne, Gen Iris and
Cranbourne Salon. The system allows the customers to call up the employees of the branch and
fix an appointment for their desired services. The employees than serves the customers according

Process Description
The main aim of the system is to provide the customers with an SMS service that would
provide them with a reminder about the appointment that they have booked and make sure that
the customer does not miss out on the appointment that they organized. In addition to the SMS
service it is proposed that new system should be able to provide the customers with the online
booking system. This would allow the customers to register themselves to the system employed
by the company. The clients would also be able to book appointment online with the use of this
online system. The services details and employee details would also be stored in the system. This

would help the customers in selecting the type of service that they want to avail and select the
specialist that they want to book their appointment with. The main system has been divided into
three sub processes: Product ordering, Automated payroll system and the appointment service
Appointment Service
The main entity acting on this process would be the customers. They would be able to
book themselves for the appointment by using the application designed by the company or by
going online and logging into the website of the organization. After the appointment has been set
up the customer would be provided with an SMS confirming their appointment.
Product ordering service
The main entity in process would be the customer. After they are logged into the system
they would be able to view a huge range of products available online and select a product and
add to cart. The system would book the product for the customers and the product would deliver
to the address mentioned by the customer with the cash on delivery method.
Payroll System
The main entity of this system is the employees. The payment details of the employees
would be stored in the system. The account details would also be updated in the system
automatically. The employees would be registered to the system and the account details of the
employees would be provided in the system. This payment would be delivered directly to the
account of the employees.
Conclusion
For conclusion it can be said that the system which is already in place for the business of
Mindy Hair might be effective enough. However, there is a scope for improvement in the system.
The process in the system can be automated and the SMS service can also be implemented in the
business process which would increase the efficiency of the organization to a great extent. The
details of the analysis of the current system and description about the proposed system have been
provided efficiently in this report. After the completion of this report, the reader would easily
understand the importance of Information technology and automated systems in business.
