Critique
The first post which is about the Jaguar Land Rover losing money, is considered to be a
holistic one as the main issue which has been came forth will be bringing much more insight and
some solutions as well which are very much necessary for finally making the solution in an
easier way. The actual problem has been identified to a huge extent. It has been observed by fast
forwarding to the year 2018 and within the first six months of the current financial year that the
company has been losing about 354 million pounds. The company JLR has already been forced
by falling in a huge number of sales to much lower production and reducing the contracted
personnel’s size. A huge competition has been seen with BMW and Mercedes-Benz. It has also
been observed that the company has failed hugely in expanding the line-up of Jaguar with the
midsized sedan which is mainly the X-Type. A bold plan has been made which will be turning
Jaguar into electricity brand and this may be an advanced plan as well. The company has
launched an I-Pace SUV successfully which is powered by the battery and this will be helping
the company a lot in beating other companies like Mercedes and Audi on the market. There is no
rich picture or some other tool for describing the scenario. A rich picture is mainly a path of
exploration, acknowledgement as well as a proper definition of a particular situation using
several diagrams (Berg & Pooley, 2013).
The second post which is about Starbucks is also a holistic one which has brought a much
more insight and some kind of solutions which are important for defining a solution easily. A
clear problem has been described which describes that Starbucks is seen to have faced a huge
struggle to the entry within the market of Australia. It has been observed that Starbucks has
already shut down about much more than 70% of all the stores in the year 2008. It has been

clearly showed within the post that a concept map and a CATWOE has been utilised for the case
of Starbucks which shows the missing satisfaction in the taste of coffee and also identified all the
root of problems which caused a huge failure for Starbucks (Hwang, Yang & Wang, 2013). A
concept map is mainly a type of organizer which is graphic utilised for helping in organizing as
well as in representing the main knowledge of any particular subject (Wang, Liu & Mingers,
2015). It mainly starts with the core idea and then finally branches out for showing that the main
idea can be further broken into several specific topics. A CATWOE analysis mainly comprises a
simple checklist for a specific thinking and it is considered to be one of the generic techniques
utilised for the identification of what is to be finally achieved by the business and what are all the
areas of problem and how will a solution be going to affect the particular business and also all
the people who are mainly involves into it (Aithal, 2017).
