INTRODUCTION
There is various type of issues that are faced by individuals and in order to overcome
them in effective manner, counselling is considered to be an effective way. It is important to
make sure that councillor have proper knowledge and understanding so that they are able to
determine the main issue. The present assignment is focused in resolving the issue that is
conflicts teachers/parents/work colleagues.
Tom Harrison who is one of the known councillor, focus is made on delivering strong
relation with clients so that they are able to develop strong relation with each other. At the initial
stage individuals find it difficult share their problems due to lack of trust but when interaction
taken place each one is able to know and share the issue (Smith, 2006). There are two main
aspects that are required, one is communication and other one is listening skills. Both these are
helpful to know that actual problem that is faced. Further, the type of perception that is carried
out by individuals is different and so that councillor is required to determine the strategies as per
their preferences. This way, it becomes favourable enough to set out strategies with the help of
which the issues that are faced can be solved.
As per the case, that is selected it is identified that the student do not prefer to listen to
teachers and make arguments always. Further, his friends are also facing issue due to strange
behaviour as he is always annoyed and not prefer to listen and always fights. Further, it is
identified that the rate of issues faced by the client can be solved by determining the main reason
due to which this type of behaviour is shown. Individuals can show these type of issues due to
many reasons like it could be practice that is followed by his parents, any type of anger that may
have felt, etc. (Walter and Peller, (2013). The main reason behind this can only be found out
when the councillor have strong interaction.
Counselling is provided to individuals who are disappointed with the acts and are willing
overcome the issues that are faced by them. It is important to make sure that councillor provides
emotional support so that the client is able to overcome the pain that is faced. In the case, the
condition of client becomes so worse that teachers have warned that if these type of acts are
repeated, then serious actions will be taken. With this respect, the model of Systematic problem
solving model is used as it covers all the important aspect that helps to know the main issue that
are faced and strategies can be developed as per the behaviour that is carried out the client. Main

focus of the councillor is main on developing strong relationship with the client (Walter and
Peller, (2013). Below given are the proper description that are given by making use of the model
as it will enable to cover all the areas with the help of which the problem of conflict that is faced
by the client will be solved.
Tom Harrison is the effective counsellor who provides the best techniques to their clients
in order to solve the best effective solution. As per the case of conflicts which creates troubles
and issues with teachers, parents and with the work colleagues (). According to the Tom
Harrison they adopt the problem solving model in order to overcome from the issues. In which
they look upon the major issues or the problem solving methods. This is the systematic approach
in which set of planned questions has designed in order to guide the students or clients. Tom
Harrison try to take the participation level of the client. So that, they more research on it and find
out the best possible task (Wosket & Page, (2013). According to the model of problem solving,
counsellor needs to be flexible and relying upon their skills and take analysis that how much time
they take on the each question. Systematic approach is basically based on the four trigger
questions which they ask to the client 1) what have you tried? 2) what is the main issue and
problem? 3) what is your future plans 4) what else could you do. Each question of problem
solving is express the each process of problem solving. Like in first question where counsellor
asked to the person is what is the main problem or situation. In which counsellor focus on the
situation through which client going through from the negative process. With the help of getting
actual issue of client, it will become easy to find the actual solution. Give them motivation and
confident in order to solve the issue or situation. For example Aron who is 10 years old boy who
lying to the teacher because some issues. Due to which they getting low marks in the class. Aron
did not want to tell the teacher what is the actual problem was. On the basis of this problem
solving approach counsellor get to know that due to some family issue they suffer from the
irritation. That's why they not interested to make new friends, they though exaggerating the truth
would make him more appealing to the others (De Shazer & Dolan, (2012). As per the model of
problem solving counsellor think that they need his family in order to come up the issues or
conflicts. Another question is about What has been tried?. After identifying the issue next focus
of the counsellor is to identifying what Aron had tried to do to solve the issue. Counsellor needs
to identify the issue and focus on the student feelings to get the result. Another question is what

else could you do? After clarification that what is to do. Another step is to take what other
alternatives ways of behaving (Hayes, Levin & Pistorello, (2013)). In which counsellor may ask
to student what can you try?. Does anything else come to the mind?. This is the stage of
brainstorming in which counsellor make client stronger and compatible. Last question of
problem solving approach is what has been tried? Once the clarification is over between
counsellor or student last approach helps to focus on the solving method. Moreover, with the
help of tom Harrison counselling process held properly in order to take the best problem solving
approach.
