Analyzing Language Demands: A Functional Grammar 102336 Project

This project employs Systemic Functional Grammar to analyze language and communication demands placed on non-native English speakers within specific social, work, or educational contexts. It involves selecting a context, identifying relevant text types, and performing detailed genre and situational analysis (Field, Tenor, Mode) on selected texts. The project also includes a lexico-grammatical analysis of text excerpts, interpreting findings in light of linguistic and communicative challenges. The analysis covers nominal groups, clause structures, and verbal processes to understand how speakers/writers can effectively navigate language demands in diverse settings. The reflection highlights the challenges in text translation and meaning.
