in the processing of the entire scenario. This report discusses about the functioning of the new

Introduction
System thinking tools are one of the most used tool that helps in identifying the issues
that are present in processing of the business management. System archetypes are considered to
be the main factors that increases the efficiency in the detection process. This is one of the major
aspect that is needed to be considered for better mitigation of the existing issue. The time that is
taken for performing the treatment process in the emergency department has been very high.
This is one of the main reason that the patients who have been visiting the hospital have been
complaining against the excess time that is taken to complete the treatment process. Hence
implementation of a new value stream map is expected.
Background
The emergency department of the hospitals have been facing severe time related issues as
the functional process has been provided with the value stream map that dwells with the nurses
functioning in a maximum rate. The nurses are responsible for the data circulation process this is
the main reason that the data that are circulated cause huge issue in the time management
section. This time management section has been affecting the working process of the hospital’s
emergency section. This leads to the time that is taken for managing the treatment process in the
hospital were far more. This has been a major reason that commencing of the treatment process
have been getting affected in a negative manner.

Identification and analysis of the System Archetypes that will impede performance
System archetypes are considered to be recurring patterns of behaviors of individuals that
are gathered for the processing of the business management system. A procedure of deciphering

system dynamics is considered to be one of the major aspect that provides a better understanding
of the system that has been derived as per the discipline of the scenario based context. System
archetypes are considered as the storyline of the case that is taken into consideration. Archetypes
are based on the heuristics that provides shortcuts to the business management process.
The system archetypes that are used in the processing of the chosen case study are as
follows: -
 Limit of growth
 Tragedy of commons
 Eroding goals
Limit of growth: As per the terminology of the limit of growth the main concern that is
taken into consideration is that an initial framework that has to be followed during completion of
the business process is decided. This decision is the way the entire work process gets performed.
The framework is treated as the rules that are to be followed during execution of the task. This
system archetype tool does not use or allow implementation of innovation in the processing of
the data management section. This ensures that the results that will be received will be predicted
and not out of the box result will be achieved (Clancy 2018). As per this case the main aspect
that is considered the hospital has a value stream map that helps in proper understanding of the
steps that are to be taken. This insists the fact that proper management of the treatment process is
not performed. The main aspect that is taken into consideration is that the nurses are over-
burdened with the responsibilities of data circulation. The data set that is stored during the
registration process is circulated by the nurse and this is to be done as per the rules of the
framework that is set by the value stream map. Hence this indicates the fact that the time that is

required for the data transaction process is very high. This is one of the major reason that
functional process of the data management of the entire treatment process has been decreasing.
Tragedy of commons has been another aspect that the common resources that are present
are limited. This limitation of the resources as compared with the activities that are to be
performed by the resources are the main criteria for the tragedy of the commons. In case the
activities are getting surpassed the efficiency of the resources gets reduced. This aspect includes
the fact that the tasks that are to be performed either produce least accurate outcome or the time
taken to complete the work increases. This has been a major concern for most of the business
organization and hence steps are to be taken for mitigating the same (Gohari, Mirchi & Madani
2017). As per the chosen case study the main aspect that is taken into consideration is that the
management process will have to be bettered as per the data circulation process is performed in
an in efficient manner. This inefficiency of the time period management has been affecting the
hospital emergency treatment as the resources that is the number of nurses are limited and the
task of data circulation is huge and hence there is a condition of tragedy of common. The time
taken for completion of the treatment process increases.
Eroding of goal imbibes the fact that the goal that was initially set by the higher authority
of organization gets deviated. This deviation in the process incurs the fact that the specific goal
set is mentioned and hence the process of goal management is performed in a negative manner.
This processing of goal and scope management acts important in the functioning process. In
this case the main goal of the emergency department is to provide proper treatment to the
patients. This proper treatment to the patient has been leading to bettering of the system
management. Due to following of the framework that is to be followed the time that is required

for the completion of the treatment process is very high. Hence this is considered to be the main
aspect that enhances eroding of goal.
Analysis of the Current State Value Stream Map based on System Archetypes
As per the present value stream map, the patient visits the hospital. After visiting the
hospital, the patient needs to register themselves. During the registration process the patient
needs to provide the data to the hospital record. After completion of the registration process the
main instance that is provided the data as per the recorded data are provided to the nurse who is
to attend the patient. After the data is sent to the nurse, the nurse checks the room that is
available and hence the patient needs to wait after providing the data to the nurse and after that
the nurse visits the patient and examines them and the after waiting a while the doctor tests the
patient after waiting for a while the doctor treats the patients. In the process the patients’ needs to
wait for 6 times. This This waiting for 6 times the main aspect that is taken into consideration is
that patient have started complaining against the excess time that is required for completion of
the treatment process is used. The current situation includes implementation of limit of growth
archetype. The framework that is set by the value stream map is used and this is the main reason
that the data circulation process and treatment process gets affected. This is one of the major
reason that the functioning process of the entire treatment process loses its efficiency. As per the
usage of the tragedy of the common the nurses are burdened with excess tasks of data
circulation. As per the data circulation process the major concern that is present includes the fact
that improper management of the treatment process affects the patients again as per the eroding
goal archetype the main aspect that was taken was to serve the patients who need emergency
treatment. But due to the limit of growth the time taken for completion of the treatment gets
increased and the goal that was to be performed fails. Due to this aspect another archetype finds

its role in the scene. This archetype is the escalation archetype. As per the escalation system
archetype the patients who have been facing the issue, complains regarding the time that is to be
taken in the processing of the treatment management. As per the treatment management process,
the main aspect that is taken into consideration is that the escalation archetype that mainly deals
with the comparing of the business prototype with the process that has been performed. This is
one of the major aspect that improper management of the organization is reflected.
Recommendation of the new State Value Stream Map
The system archetype that is taken into consideration for bettering of the treatment
processing of the treatment process in a better manner is shifting of burden. This is one of the
major system archetype that can be used for better processing of the treatment (Tyagi et al,
2015). With the help of the shifting of burden archetype the main aspect that is taken into
consideration is that the burden that was decreasing the efficiency of the treatment in the
emergency department. This can be performed with the help of the introduction of the SOFT
Clinic (Jimmerson, 2017). SOFT Clinic acts as an Online Transaction Process. Hence data
transaction process will get better. This has been one of the major concern that the delay that is
caused in the treatment process due to the over burdening of the nurses in the data transaction
system can be mitigated. This mitigation of the overwhelming process will ensure that the
treatment will get performed in a proper manner. SoftClinic is considered as one of the best
EHR and hospital management tool. This tool helps in data storing and transacting the same to
the destined location. With the help of the data that are being transacted the main advantage that
will be required includes the fact that better assessment of the emergency treatment process is
performed with higher integrity. Shifting of burden archetype is used in the solution process with
the help of the shifting of burden archetype the main advantage that is incurred is that the issue

regarding the data management system is that the data management process gets enhanced
(Henrique et al, 20). Starting from room management, medical billing, physician management
and policy management, all the processes are performed by this tool. With the implementation of
this tool in the treatment process, the time that will be required for data transaction and
calculation will get axed off. This will help in decreasing the time patients need to wait. This will
help in halving the wait time of the patients,

As per the picture present above it can be seen that during the registration process the data that
are provided by the patients are stored in the SOFTClinic. As per the implementation of the
SOFTClinic the availability of the rooms are stated. After checking the availability of the room
the patient is taken to the room. As the patient is taken to the room the nurse who will be
attaining the patient already has the patient data and so does the doctor. This helps in reducing

the time in every stage. This is one of the major reason that the time that is incurred in the
waiting gradually gets halved. The insurance company also gets their data from the tool during
the treatment process. This leads to the fact that commencement of the treatment process is
subdivided into many steps and overlapping of steps are performed for better performing of the
treatment process.
Consequences of the new State Value Stream Map
The consequences that will be received are both positive and negative. The positive
consequence of the newly designed value stream map includes proper management of the bed
and rooms in a faster manner. With the help of the implementation of SoftClinic the time that
will be required for completion of the entire treatment process will be much lower. Proper
management of the out-patient management will also be benefitted as SoftClinic helps in proper
managing of the data of the patients.
The negative consequence that will be faced includes the fact that the value stream
following will not be very easy. As the value stream map includes presence of the SoftClinic
tool, which is not very easy to use.
Conclusion
As per the discussion it can be stated that implementation of system archetype tools for
understanding the issues that are present. Another aspect that is needed to be considered is that
the data that are gathered after using the system archetype helps in reducing the issue, this leads
to the fact that the issue is also resolved based on the platform of system archetype of shifting of
burden. Hence treatment processing gets performed in a better manner. With the help of the
recommended design of the value stream map it is expected that the issue will be resolved.
