Considering the rapid urban growth as well as complex health concerns in urban
regions, system approaches are important to guarantee as well as improve human health
conditions and welfare and further safeguard sustainable future for all individuals.
Urbanization is a multifaceted process usually indicated in terms of communal,
environmental and conservational change along with health outcomes which are highly
challenging to predict. The following paper will evaluate importance of using system analysis
approach for evaluating health inequalities in urban regions by drawing insights from the
report of an ICSU Planning Group.
In light to the introductory paragraphs of the article a dire need of scientific approach
is found to be essential which can focus on this range of health issues. The key concepts of
health, urban environment and system analysis mentioned in the article has made the readers
enable of understanding varied implications of the terms in the domain of health. These
comprehensive explanations have asserted that use of systems approach in observing health
inequalities will add to the comprehensive understanding of health and welfare in a varying
urban setting (ICSU Planning Group, 2011).
While shedding light on historical aspects of health conditions in urban regions it has
been noted that some of the detrimental environmental effects of urbanization could have
been easily evaded by cultivating urban environmental management. It has been noted that
urban development failed to be successfully managed in majority of the increasingly
urbanizing districts and had been consequential to ecological and health issues chiefly related
to poverty. At this juncture, Jayasinghe (2015) has mentioned systems approach delivers
novel conceptualization to natural as well as social systems. In light with the examples
mentioned in the article, incapacity of considering range of health impacts from transport as
well as land-use policies as well as investment has led to urban setting which has brought
obstacles in employment services, health care facilities, learning as well as provisions. In the
