Abstract.
The idea behind everything in this topic on the design project is to come up with a good design
network to offer affordable, reliable and convenient communication of a given company. In our
case scenario here we are considering design project of Al-nu’man Network Company which has
a contact on building one of the largest hotel branch in Alshidi Hotels Group.
The idea is how this company can create good network communication channels with less cost
and that will be more productive as the channels built in will be much more convenient in all
ways. The idea is coming up with a very fast and a network that is very secure.
Introduction
Excitement growth that surrounds the telephony transport services data networks like internet
have led of development of very cost-efficient gateway equipment’s. This has been considered
on the basis of the systems that are embedded converting the telephony that are analog such as
the voice and fax in to packets (Boucadair, 2011). The already converted in to packets are
suitable for transportation over the internet protocol (Eysenbach, 2014). In understanding the IP
phone to be telephone device used for transporting voice over the networks using data packets
rather than the circuit switched connections over the voice only purposed networks (Dakota,
2018).
Statement of the Problem.
The idea behind this proposal project is to address a problem that is already in existence. The
problem to be addressed is the need of coming up with a data and voice network that can help the
staff of AL-NU’MAN network company in communicating with each other in a way that is
productive and much more with a cost that is reduced.
Scope of the Project.
The scope of this project is that we get to design an internal network with the idea in mind am
focusing on how fast and secure it will be and much more convenient to all users. The software
to be applied in achieving the already set goals is the Cisco Call manager which is a call
processing that is used in extending telephony features capabilities to packet telephony network
devices like IP phones, VOIP gateways and others (CISCO, 2009). The CUCM will manage the

IP phones to allow the employees to contact each other very much easily and much more to be
very productive and less costly.
Goals of the Project
For the project to be successful during implementation then it’s good we understand the
following contestant’s advice:
 Perform a preliminary exploratory research.
 Have a detailed on the plan and management of the project.
 Choose of a customized IP solution
Some of the goals and objectives to be achieved at the end of this implementation of IP phones
are as follows.
i. Cost saving
ii. Pin Assign
iii. Access permission to employees
iv. Access to other company external extensions
Motivation
As a communication student in the faculty of computer studies the desire to understand more and
know my areas of expertise the idea behind IP phone VOIP gateways and how they serve and
operates gave me an idea to get to know more. This idea was heightened and deepen in me that I
saw the need to come up with a proposal linking it with a problem existing in a specific
company.
Research approach and methodology.
Research is well known as the time we use for gathering info and documenting facts and much
more interpreting the collected data in a way or phenomenon that can be understood by all. The
project here is based on configuring and installing the IP Phones to allow effective
communication in solving real life problem in Alshidi Hotels Group. In this scenario we will use
the quantitative research which will involve data collection that will be later examined,

quantified and much more be subjected to be treated statistically in supporting the alternative
knowledge.
An explanation of such is illustrated in the figure below.

Research Methodology in research are methods used in developing the given project. In the
scenario the best method and which is very fast and very reliable in giving fast and secure results
will be the Rapid Application Development (RAD). The research method is the scientific that
will aim at learning and testing new facts. The gathering and collection of data will be done
through interviews, and surveys.
IP Phone
There are two types of such Ip gateways namely the analog card type and the digital card type
(Lange, 2016). The following figure show a simple configuration of how such should be laid.

Cisco Unified Call manager
This is a software that helps in constructing the cisco voice systems. CUCM is multifunctional in
that it can set Cisco voicemails.
