The second part focuses on analyzing online sales data for a firm in 2013. The analysis includes identifying underperforming segments, analyzing platform performance, and determining annual trends. Question 1
1. The workbook obtained from tableau public gallery repents a graphical analysis of the
data from superstore. The dashboard analyses the basic operations of the store including
the stress top operating Food Chains in USA as well as sales derived from the various
segments.
2. I did find the tableau to be interesting as it did contain several types of charts and graphs
that did give me adequate challenge in my quest to replicate the types of analysis done.
3. While in the process of replicating the workbook, I did have to do extensive research on
how-to create several charts that were presented in the workbook. This process was
helpful in my learning on effective ways of breaking down data using tableau software.
4. After selecting the workbook, I was able to research on how to reproduce the sheets one
after another and based on my opinion I was able to replicate almost all the charts, figures
and tables that were presented on the dashboard.. In addition, through viewing a number
of YouTube tutorial and the class materials, I did try to replicate the formatting done on
the workbook so as to reproduce an almost exact copy. All this was motivated by my
urge to practice and perfect my skills of data analysis using tableau.

2. From the analysis it can be deduced that the underperforming segments of the company
are Botyl,Tabular and Widgetry which did attract the least number of new clients for the
entre year. In addition, platforms like android and windows phone lead to no addition of
items on cart. It can be concluded that clients do not use these platforms for online
purchases and hence they are no longer relevant for the activities the firm.
3. Using the 2013 data we did drive the annual trend of the firm; the trend shows that
February and July are the off-peak months as they record the least number of orders
placed. Contrary to this is December which record the highest number of orders placed.
4. The company’s growth strategy should be based on platform segmentation and
specialization. The firm should desist from operating unprofitable platforms like
windows phone and android, instead, the focus should be concentrated in optimizing the
return from platforms like windows and iOS that have shown to be popular among most
clients.
