Assessment Task 2
In this task, you are required to plan and organise assessment processes for three units of competency.
This assessment template resembles one assessment tool for one unit of competency. You are to duplicate this
booklet three times.
You will need to engage a qualified colleague who has a TAE qualification or has vocational expertise in the
relevant area to provide feedback to you on your training and assessment plan.
There are clear instructions throughout this resource and if at any time you have questions please do not hesitate
to contact your trainer/assessor.
Step 1 - Assessment Plan
You are required to develop an assessment plan for three different units of competency (one in this resource).
The assessment plan template is to be used for each of the threetraining and assessing environment assessment
plans and must be completed using a different unit of competency for each.
You are welcome to use your own templates if you wish. It is your responsibility to ensure your templates provide
all the information required.

Step 2 - Assessment Instructionsand Instruments
You are required to develop a complete assessment tool for the unit of competency indicated in the assessment
plan you have developed in the previous step.
Templates for the assessment tasks and methods are includedfor you to use if you wish. Noteyou are required to
use a range of assessment methods throughout your assessment plans (x3).
Assessments methods suitable to VET are listed on the following ASQA fact sheet:

Delete any templates you don’t use. Create your own or use any other templates as you wish.
You are required to complete (in most cases) at least two instruments for each assessment method chosen. For
instance; a written test for candidates to complete and a written test with answers for the assessor.
You must create at least one of your own assessment instruments per assessment plan. Other existing
instruments can be usedif suitable (acknowledge the source) and must be contextualised to suit your assessment
plan/context.

Role Play/Scenario/Observation Task Template
ROLE PLAY / SCENARIO/OBSERVATION TASK
Instructions to the candidate:
You are to find appropriate equipment to manage and operate the response against oil spills. While
locating the basic equipment opertions you will be assessed and observed thoroughly by your
assessor as is stated in the Occupational health and Safety Requirements. You will be judged on the
preparation of a development plan as well as a deployment plan in order to provide th necessary
response. You will finally need to upload the document on the internet for the proper assessment of
it and for the utilization of the file.
You will start by typing your full name, address as well as the date and time of the assessment task
in a Microsoft Word file. You need to read the manuals that comprises of the conditions and
necessities of the environment on the internet or from articles and journals available to you. Your
trainer or assessor will help you out with the task by correcting the mistakes you have made while
preparing the plans or while selecting the proper equipment operations.1
Site Specific Deployment Plan
Often there is a release of liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment due to human
activities. Oil spills are those accidents happening upon the marine life and causing pollution. The
deployment plan involves regular and adequate exercises required for the proper identification of
equipment, which will help you to understand the task. It involves:

involved.

Conditions of Assessment
The assessment task have to be performed in a safe environment. The gathered evidence has to be
consistent with the performance demonstration of the student. The typical activity experience that
forms a part of the work fields’ general administration includes and provides access to the
following:
 Case studies and possible real situations.
 The records of the resources.
 Operational and maintenance manuals
 The procedure of the organization has to ve consistent with the equipment operations and
maintenance.
Assessor will give the feedback based on how you perform. The feedback will prove whether the
answers have been satisfactory or unsatisfactory. If the answers fail to meet the requirements

satisfactorily then the student will be given a chance to re-attempt the assessment task in the areas
where he or she lacks to demonstrate competency.
The student has the right of appeal if he or she feels that the feddback by the assessor is biased or
unfair in any way.
