INTRODUCTION
Talent management is related to perform such activities by which employees become
more productive and efficient. It comprised different activities of attracting talented people,
motivating them and retaining them for longer period of time. Talent management is a wide
function which is concern with hiring employees to motivate them as well as retain them in an
efficient manner. Main aim of talent management is to improve productivity of employees so
that they can contribute significantly in organizational growth and success. There are various
business sectors such as marketing, HR, finance and more are present in an organization. In each
and every sector, there are great difficulties faced by HR managers in managing employees in an
appropriate way (Tafti, Mahmoudsalehi and Amiri, 2017). The present report is based on
challenges occur in the field of marketing in during talent management. In Marketing, it is not
easy to hire potential employees who have adequate skills and competencies. Apart from this,
HR managers also face hardships in order to retain talented people for longer period of time.
Different obstacles and challenges faced by company in terms of hiring and retaining potential
employees are covered in the report.
Overview of company
For completion of current project, Sainsbury is taken into consideration which is a well
known company of retail industry of UK. It is one of the largest supermarket chains in UK which
offers variety of products such as groceries, clothes, accessories and other general items in order
to meet with requirements of customers in an efficient manner. It was founded in 1869 and has
16% share in overall retail market of UK. The present report comprises issues faced by company
in order to retain potential employees for longer period of time.

information regarding challenges faced by HR managers while managing talent within company.
Here, the study will help in order to prepare suitable strategies for dealing with obstacles related
to talent management in an efficient manner.

Concept of talent management
According to Briesemeister, (2018), talent management is an activity which aims to
manage human resources within company in an efficient manner in order to get positive
outcomes in future period of time. Under this, a lot of functions such as recruitment, selection,
motivation, training and development are performed in significant manner. In talent
management, managers put significant efforts in order to get right people onboard with company.
Apart from this, they also provide all necessary benefits so that employees stay with organization
for longer period of time. Main aim of talent management is to prepare such efficient strategies
by which work force become more productive and efficient. Without talent management
practices, it is not possible to hire, select as well as retain potential people. It shows the ability of

an organization to hire potential people and also maintain positive relationship with them. It is
the responsibility of HR department to recruit, select, motivate, direct employees in significant
manner. In talent management, HR manager attracts as well as motivate employees constantly in
order to bring positive results within company. Talent management significantly helps company
in improving performance and productivity of work force in an efficient manner.
The challenges faced during talent management in the field of marketing
According to Michailidis, (2018), There are a lot of challenges faced by HR managers
during talent management. In marketing sector, there is requirement of enthusiastic, energetic
people who can work under pressures and according to the deadlines. It is not easy to recruit
such employees. For this managers need to do a lot of screenings and also need to conduct
multiple rounds of interview. Apart from this, motivating employees is also challenging. In this
regard, HR managers need to analyze needs & requirements of work force and motivate them
accordingly. In addition to this, issues also arise while managing and retaining competent people
within company for longer period of time.
Suitable strategies of talent management for meeting with challenges effectively
According to Taylor, (2018), talent management is a crucial practice which needs to
adopt by company for managing talent in an efficient manner. There is requirement to adopt
appropriate strategies so that company can cope up with challenges related to talent management.
Here, HR managers need to motivate employees with appropriate mediums such as monetary and
non monetary ways. In addition to this, training and development is also a crucial strategy of
talent management through which HR managers put efforts in order to improve in knowledge &
potential of work force in significant manner. Additionally, by providing appropriate rewards
and benefits company can also meet with obstacles of talent management in an appropriate
manner.
Research Approaches and Methodologies
Research design: Research design to a framework which is used by researcher in order to
conduct research in a systematic way (Kennedy and et. al., 2019). Descriptive research design is
applied in the current report which will help in terms of gaining detailed information for bringing
positive outcomes in an efficient manner.

Research methods: It refers to the method, strategies which are used in order to collect
necessary data and information for the purpose to conduct research in an efficient manner. Here,
two major methods of research are mentioned as under:
Qualitative methods: This method is related with collection of detailed and in-depth
information with an aim to get detailed insights for conducting research in an appropriate
way. There are a lot of sources of collecting qualitative data such as interview, focus
group, case study and more. This method is helpful in order to get detailed and indepth
information for completion of research objectives.
Quantitative methods: Under this, mathematical and statistical techniques are applied in
order to get authentic information. It is related with collection and analysis of numerical
data & information (Lai and Palmer, 2018). For this purpose, there are several tools and
softwares are used for getting reliable information for completion of project objectives in
an efficient manner.
Data collection: While conducting research, it is important to collect necessary data and
information. In this regard, major source of data collections are mentioned below:
Primary Source: It is concern with collection of raw data which is fair and first handed.
In this, data is gathered by researcher which is highly authentic and reliable
(Drozdzewski, 2018). Major sources of primary data collection are questionnaire, survey,
observation and more. It is required to analyze benefits and drawbacks of each source
before adopting appropriate one.
Secondary source: Under this, second hand or already exist data is used by researcher. In
this, data is collected from already available sources such as publications, articles,
websites and more Secondary information is gathered through websites, books, articles,
journals and more. It is an efficient source which is less expensive and time consuming.
Gantt Chart
It is a way by which all the activities related to project are present in graphical manner.
Here, roles & responsibilities of different individuals are demonstrated with available time frame
(Ciocoiu, 2018). Gantt chart shows deadlines, schedule of project activities so that the whole
