Task 2
Conducting research: Primary and secondary methods to meet set aim and objectives
This section of every project and research forms out an important part of investigation
which provide and expansion about the main research methods and techniques which are used
and applied by a researcher for conducting an investigation.
Research philosophy- There are four main types of research philosophy which can be used
and applied for a researcher for undertaking an investigation which consists of positivism,
realism, pragmatism, and interpretivisim (Ram, 2021). Out of these four type of research
philosophy use of positivism is seemed most suitable for current investigation which support

10

Research approach- Deductive and inductive analysis methods are the two major forms of
research approaches, with deductive becoming more suitable with positivism theory and
inductive being more appropriate with interpretivism philosophy, which promotes in-depth and
detailed knowledge. Due to the nature of the present inquiry, it has been decided that using a
deductive method is more relevant and acceptable because it is more in line with positivism
theory and also offers help for successful scanning and checking of numeric and statistical
evidence. (Gianoncelli and Gaggiotti, 2021).
Research strategy- This forms out to be the main design and complete framework for an
investigation through providing information about the technique which has been used and
applied for collection of data. The main forms of research strategy which could be utilised by an
investigator comprises of action research, experiments, survey, observation, interview and
various other data collection tool. Out of these vital strategies, use of survey strategies looks out
most suitable and effective for current investigation. The main reason behind making use of
survey strategy is based on the fact that it provides a most cost and time efficient way for
collecting data from a larger number of population with the help of questionnaire thus, ensures
ample amount of information to meet its objectives (Bienkowski and McGowan, 2021).
Choices of method- There are two main methods of conducting and leading out a research
work which comprises of qualitative and quantitative method. Out of these two form of research
method, choice of quantitative method has been made for current investigation as it supports and
leads out to a more effective collection of data in numeric terms and statistical form which is
much more easy to present and analysis. Thus, selection of quantitative research method is
appropriate as it support a more measurable and specific set of result based on numeric facts and
statistical data presented with the help of tables and pie chart.
Collection of data- Gathering of information could be made from primary and secondary
sources of data both of which are applied and utilised for current investigation. The use of
primary sources of data collection seemed vital and appropriate to have authentic and first hand
data where as secondary data is also required to have a base and framework for investigation
with the help of past findings and records (Harika and et. al., 2021). Use of questionnaire has
been made as research tool for collection of primary data where as secondary information has
been gathered from online journals and articles related to chosen topic .
