METHODOLOGY
Use Saunders’s research onion framework to develop an effective academic research methodology
It forms out a vital part of every investigation that tend to present the information about the methods
which are used for collection and analysis of data. The all layers of Saunders’s research onion
framework has been discussed below to develop effective research methodology for current project:
Figure 1: Saunders’s research onion framework , 2021
Research philosophy- It is the first layer of research onion model that is being divided and bifurcated
into four main types i.e. positivism, interpretivisim, realism and pragmatism from which one is
selected based on nature. Use of the positivisms philosophy is being proposed for current project as it
supports a systematic way of investigation to analysis role of talent management along with
supporting practical way of study (Baporikar and Randa, 2022).
Research approach- This forms the second layer that is being divided into two main types i.e.
deductive and inductive approach from which deductive is tend to be suitable for current work. The
use of the deductive apprch is seemed justifiable and appropriate as it tend be in line with the
positivistic philosophy along with supporting of better treating as well as scanning of data to
determine the role of talent management.

interview, survey, observation, etc. use of survey strategy is seemed to be appropriate. The reason for
the selection of survey stagey comprise of the fact that it supports easy collection of data from larger
number of participants with the help of questionnaire.
Choice of method- qualitative and quantitative are two main choice of method provided by the
Saunders’s research onion framework out of which qualitative are in-depth in nature while
quantitative supports objective nature of investigation. Quantitative research method is selected for
current project as it supports easy collection of facts in numeric terms along with supporting better
perennation of facts through use of statistical tools such as charts and graph (Schinzel, 2022).
Time horizon- out of cross sectional and longitudinal time horizon use of cross section has seemed
appropriate for current project as it tend to supports a short time intervention for undertaking current
investigation.
Data collection and analysis- use of both primary as well as secondary source of data collection has
been made for current study as primary data supports authentic set of information that is directly
collected from participants. Further, secondary data would be reviewed through online article and
journals. Analysis of primary data would be made through help of pie charts and frequency table
while secondary data is analysed through applying systematic literature review.
Sampling- a sample size of 25 participants has been selected from employees of GHL hotel with the
help of random method of sampling.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of current proposal, a conclusion can be made that talent management is a vital
HRM concept that supports more systemic recruitment as well as higher retention of employees.
