P2- Research methods and approaches to primary and secondary research.
There are two kind to researches methods which are used by researchers, qualitative and
quantitative (Abutabenjeh and Jaradat., 2018). Qualitative research methods focus on meaning
and words while the quantitative method focus on the statistics and numericals. This both
research methods will help researchers to complete this project on the Talent engagement on
Hotel Four seasons-
Qualitative researches
Qualitative researches are defined as a research methods which totally focus on
obtaining informative data from the open-ended colloquial communication. This method is not
just about what people believe about but it is also about why people believe. Interviews are the
speech based research where questions are used to ask to get info from the others. Interviews are
atypically structured to meet the researchers objectives.
Proes - Qualitative approaches to investigation are not bound by the limitations of quantitative
methods. If participants don’t fit the researcher’s belief that’s equally helpful qualitative data to
add context and possibly explain something which Numbers alone are ineffectual to show.
Cons- size of the sample can be a big issue for the researcher (Ardrey and et.al., 2016). If
researcher seek to reason from sample of , for example 200 employees which are based on
sample of the only 5 workers . This will rise the question of the researchers that will this
method will provide true abjuration of position of the remaining 97 percent of the company.
Quantitative method
Quantitative researches utilize computational, mathematical and statistical to produce the
right result. This methods create a decisiveness to the purpose to state studied as it quantified
difficulty to realism how prevailing they are (Ardrey and et.al., 2016).
Pros- Qualitative researches involves survey , real time gathering, experiments. There are few
delays in the collection of the data and metrical to examine the researches. This means

information in this method can be more quickly examine as compare to the other methods of the
researches.
Cons – there are some limits in this method – One survey is fail through this method then
interviewer cannot go back conduct again survey(VanKooten., 2019). There is a limited chances
they will get to probe the reply offering in the research, which make some data points to analyze
when comparison with the other method.
Research approaches
There are two important research approaches which are primary and secondary. Both are
helpful to conduct researches and help to complete project. Primary and secondary are one of
them ad this helps to conduct researches , collection of appropriate data.
Primary data
Primary data is fresh data collect by the interview by conducting the researches m asking
questions, interview etc (Schloss and et.al., 2019). This research is used for the hiring someone
or collecting new data.
Pros- one of the best advantages of the primary research that it allow researchers to obtain
original data which can help to fulfil needs.
Cons – this research method take time and it is costly as well.
Secondary data
It is method of researches which involves use already existing data. Existing data
collected or summarized to insure the overall effectiveness of the research.
Pros- It is already based on the existing data derived from the previous researches, this kind of
researches can be conducted more easily and quickly and at a low cost (Buono and Gonzalez.,
2017).
Cons- one of the major disadvantages from the secondary research may have problems and
difficulty obtaining specific information specific to the researchers needs.
P3-Conduct research methods for hospitality researches and include Cost, access and ethical
issue.
Research is defined a procedure which include some steps bored assumptions to
detailed methods collections. In order to conduct talent management project researcher use
primary method for research . In this method they use surveys and interview to collect data. The
data collect by the researcher was new and never used (Ciocoiu., 2018). This help them to

complete this research properly and investigator get the information according to their needs.
Primary data is better for this research project because it new researches and it is done to collect
the new and original data. Investigator who conduct this method of research do so in the many
ways. This include going direct to the sources – normally customers and prospective customers
in the target market – they ask questions and gather the useful information through some
primary research methods like survey, interviews, focus groups, visiting location of the
competitors.
Cost
Costing in the research project is important because in these researchers have to
calculate which methods they should use and which project will be more costly. Cost will be
needed to conduct the primary and secondary research.
Access
Ethical issue
There are some ethical issue faced by the investigators to conduct research project.
Primary data collection method is not that easy because investigator have to take interviews and
surveys one by one which takes time and travelling experiences (Faber And et.al., 2016). Many
people deny giving any information and most of the people does not know about the what
interviewer is talking about which may lead their project toward the failure. In order to conduct
research Talent management research project , researcher can get fake information from the
people which can directly affect on this project research.
