performance of employees with help of different talent management practice?
Section Two: Reasons for choosing this research project
Reasons for choosing the project (e.g. links to other subjects you are studying, personal interest, future
plans, knowledge/skills you want to improve, why the topic is important):
In the current modern world there are many companies which are facing issues relating to
management of the employees within the company. The major reason for this is that there are
many different companies and they try to attract the employees of other companies and because
of this here is large requirement of the companies to effectively make the use of the talent
management strategies. Thus, when the research will be conducted over the talent management
strategies then this will assist the company in using these strategies and motivate the employees
in order to improve their performance. Further another major reason for using talent management
strategies as the research topic is the personal and academic interest of the researcher within the
topic of the research.
Section Three: Literature sources searched
Use of key literature sources to support your research question, objective or hypothesis:
Theme 1- Developing understanding related to talent management practices.
In the views of Kaliannan, Abraham and Ponnusamy (2016) in this highly competitive
working environment there is a great requirement for company in order to attract the employees
and try to retain the employees within the company for a longer period of time. This is very

important because of the reason that when the company will make the effective use of the talent
management then this will motivate the employees in performing their task in effective and
efficient manner.
On the other side Mohammed, Hafeez-Baig and Gururajan (2018) argues that the talent
management practices involve the process through which company tries to attract the employees
to work within the company and help them in their personal growth. This is a good way of
attracting the employees within the company and this will motivate the employees to stay
connected with the company for a longer period of time. Thus, when the company employs
effective talent management strategies then this motivates the employees to work in much better
manner as they develop a feeling that company is working for betterment of the company.
Theme 2- Different strategies used for talent management with the intention of the motivating
employees to improve the performance of the company.
In the views of Rodriguez and Walters (2017) there a many different types of talent
management strategies which assist the company in getting a better employees and retaining
them for a longer period of time. The major strategy used for the talent management is the
providing or training and development sessions. This is the major strategy as when the company
will provide the facility of training then this will assist the company in increasing the
performance of the employees. The major reason for this is that with help of the providing time
to time training this will motivate the employees as company is taking care of the employees and
this will motivate then in doing work in more effective manner.
In contrast to this Maleka and et.al., (2020) argues that the another major strategy for
managing talent is the reward and recognition as this will assist the company in attracting and
retaining the employees for a longer period of time. This is particularly because of the reason
that when the company provides for effective rewards then this will motivate the employees and
they will perform in much better and effective manner. Further when the employees know that if
they will get more rewards if they will perform in much better way than this will motivate them
to work in more proper and organized manner.
Theme 3- Impact of using different types of talent management strategies over the
performance of the employees.
With the views of Yusoff and et.al., (2020) the major impact of using the different talent
management strategies is that this motivates the employees to work in much better and effective

Document Page
manner. This is particularly because of the reason that when the employees will be provided with
the benefits then this will motivate the employees to work in much better and effective manner.
Thus, this creates a positive impact over the working and performance of the employees.
On the flip side van Zyl, Mathafena and Ras (2017) argues that many a time these talent
management strategies can be wrong because this creates an issues among the employees. The
major reason for this is that when the company provides reward and recognition on the basis of
capability of the employees and this creates issues among those employees who are not doing
good.
Section Four: Activities and timescales
Activities to be carried out during the research project (e.g research,
development and analysis of ideas, writing, data collection, numerical analysis,

What type of research approach and methodologies are you likely to use and why? What your areas of

research will cover:
Research type- this is the most important to decide for which method the researcher will
undertake in order to complete the research either qualitative or quantitative. Thus, for
completing the research on different talent management strategies the research will make the use
of the qualitative research type as this will assist the researcher in developing better and deeper
knowledge relating to talent management strategies (Van de Ven and Poole, 2017).
Research approach- for the completion of the current research, scholar will make the use
of the inductive approach out of the two inductive and deductive. The major reason for the
selection of this method is that this approach is related with the formulation of aim and
objectives and then completes the whole study on basis of that.
Research philosophy- this involves the two different types of philosophies that is
interpretivism and positivism. Hence, for the successful completion of research over impact of
talent management strategies the researcher will make use of the interpretivism as the
philosophy. The major reason underlying this fact is that this is more suitable with the qualitative
type of research as this does not make use of factual data.
Data collection- this is the most essential thing for the completion of the research as if the
data will not be collected in effective manner then there will not be any base for the research.
Thus, for this the researcher will make the effective use of combination of the primary and
secondary sources of data. For the primary source the data will be collected with help of
questionnaire and for secondary source the use of different books and journal and article and
other published sources will be used in gathering the data (Park and Park, 2016).
Sampling- under this the researcher selects some of the sample to conduct the research as
it is not possible to do the research on whole of the population. Thus with help of the random
sampling method the researcher will collected data by providing questionnaire to 20 respondents
from Hilton.
Data analysis- after the collection of the data, the analysis of the data is the most
important thing as for successful completion of the research is to analyse the data in effective and
efficient manner. This is particularly because of the reason that when the data will not be
analysed in effective manner then there will not be any meaning attached to it. Thus, for this
research will make use of the thematic analysis wherein they will undertake the use of themes,

charts and tables for interpreting the collected data.
Ethical consideration- this is the most important thing for the researcher to effectively
undertake as if there will not be any ethical working then the research will not bring out the
intended outcome. Thus, for this the most important thing is to keep all the data of respondent
safe and secure so that it cannot be misused. Further the researcher must have a written ethical
approval from being signed by the respondent before taking their personal information.
