AI Summary
This research project investigates the impact of talent management on the role of Human Resources (HR), focusing on a case study of Aston Martin. The project's proposal outlines the research aim, objectives, and questions, emphasizing the importance of talent management practices and their contributions to HR functions. It explores literature sources, including Chowdhury (2021), Tlaiss (2020), and Garcia-Arroyo and Osca (2019), to identify the contributions of HR in talent management, the significance of talent management practices, and the challenges faced without effective talent management. The methodology section details the research approach, including pragmatism and interpretivisim philosophies, and survey strategy. The project covers activities, timescales, and a Gantt chart for efficient time management. The research aims to determine the importance of talent management in HR functioning, identify effective strategies, and address potential challenges. The project includes an executive summary, introduction, literature review, methodology, data analysis, research outcomes, conclusion, and recommendations, alongside a reflection on alternative research methodologies.

Section Two: Reasons for choosing this research project
Reasons for choosing the project (e.g links to other subjects you are studying, personal
interest, future plans, knowledge/skills you want to improve, why the topic is important):
Main reason behind choosing this research project or topic is to determine the issues faced by
human resource because of ineffective talent management. This is one of the main reason behind
doing of current project. Current research project is effective and significant for an organisation,
individual or industry. This research helps an me by improving different types of research skills
that are communication, time management, decision making, data collection and many others
(DREWERY, PRETTI and CHURCH, 2020). All these skills will help me in completion of full
project systematically and successfully. At professional level, with the help of current
investigation, I have opportunity for searching valuable jobs in multinational organisation.
Therefore, current investigation is essential for each and every one who have their interest in
this. By doing this research project I want to improve my different kind of skills i.e. literature
review, presentation skills, critical thinking etc.
Section Three: Literature sources searched
Use of key literature sources to support your research question, objective or hypothesis:
Literature review is a process used by researcher for collecting secondary information from
various sources i.e. books, articles, publication research and many others relevant to the current
topic. Main aim of literature review within a research project is to investigate the research gap in
current study. Main gap of this research is to identify the contributions of human resource in
management of talent within a workplace. In previous investigations there were lots of data
available regarding the contributions of human resource at workplace of company, but there were

Section Five: Research approach and methodologies
What type of research approach and methodologies are you likely to use and why? What
your areas of research will cover:
Research methodology is an essential process or part of research project because it helps
investigator in data collection and data analysis (Noack, 2019). Main aim of research
methodology in research project is to collect and analysis accurate information through research
methodology. Research onion framework is used in the explanation of the research methodology.
Research onion framework has the different layers and the approach is using these layers from
outer layer to the inner layer. There are different types of research methodologies that will be
explained as below:
Research philosophy: It is the process that will be used for gathering and evaluating data about
any field of study. There are different types of research philosophies such as Pragmatism,
positivism, realism and interpretivisim. According to the current investigation, pragmatism and
interpretivisim are two selected research philosophies. Both types of research philosophies are

valuable for collecting and evaluating data in practical way, rather than using theories. Main
reason regarding selection of pragmatism type as it not takes more time and resources as well as
facilitate in achieving of valid outcomes (Jang and Ardichvili, 2020). Along with this,
interpretivisim philosophy will also using within a research project because with the use of this,
researcher can easily gather and analyse in-depth information. Therefore, according to the
current project both pragmatism and interpretivisim research philosophies are useful.
Research approach: This is the process that will be following within a research project with
aim of evaluating data about the topic. There are two main approaches of research, which are
inductive and deductive. These approaches are essential according to the current topic of talent
management. In this, deductive approach assists in evaluation of quantitative information
without consuming maximum time and cost. Inductive approach is also useful for evaluating
qualitative data. Thus, inductive and deductive are two selected approaches in current project.
Research strategy: This is another part of methodology that have different types of research
strategies i.e. experiment, action research, survey, case study and so on. These are main
strategies of the research but according to the present project, survey is a main and useful
strategy. This strategy will help researcher in collecting of numerical information within less
time of period. Therefore, main purpose regarding the use of survey research strategy is it
provides valid and reliable information to the investigator that result in achievement of each
objective successfully (Kravariti and Johnston, 2020). Interview and questionnaire are selected
survey strategy in current project. Main reason regarding the selection of interview is it provides
qualitative data in less period of time. Questionnaire is also useful in collecting of numerical
information easily and effectively.
Research choice: This is an essential type of research methodology that basically have two
choices i.e. qualitative and quantitative. These are effective types of research choices according
to the existing title or research project. Quantitative choice of the research is useful because it
provides numerical and reliable information within minimum time and cost. Qualitative research
is also valuable for investigator because it assists in collection of accurate and in-depth data
about the topic. Therefore, both types of research choices are valuable for doing present
investigation in systematic manner.
Time horizon: Time is significant source of research project because without this, researcher

cannot complete full project in given time and successful manner. There are two effective
approaches of time horizon such as cross-sectional and longitudinal. These are main approaches
within time horizon but in accordance to the present project, cross-sectional approach of time is
essential and valuable for investigator (Muñoz-Pascual, Galende and Curado, 2020). Main reason
regarding the selection of cross-sectional approach of time horizon is it is based on actual
situation and not consume more time.
Data collection: This is the process used for gathering primary and secondary information
through effective source. For collecting primary information, questionnaire will be followed by
investigator because it helps in helps in getting of valid as well as reliable outcomes in less
period of time (Mamman and et. al., 2018). In case of secondary, data will be gathered from
books, peer-reviewed articles, publication research and many other applicable to the research
title. Therefore, within a research project, both sources of data collection are valuable for
investigator in attaining of each objective successfully. Main reason regarding selection of
primary research is it provide reliable data because it is mainly objective and gathered directly
from original sources. Main purpose about the selection of secondary research is it not take
maximum amount of capital and facilitate researcher in finding appropriate data. Thus, according
to the current project both primary and secondary research are valuable for the investigator.
Sampling: This is the tool or process of selecting sample from total population from probability
and non-probability. According to the current project, both probability and non-probability
sampling are essential. In order to select sample for quantitative research 45 employees of Aston
Martin, London, United Kingdom. 2 managers of Aston Martin, London, United Kingdom will
be selected for qualitative data. Main reason about the selection of probability and non-
probability sampling is it not require maximum cost and time but also provide valid results.
Research instruments: This is an effective part of methodology that have different research
instruments including questionnaire, observation, interview, modelling and focus group. These
are main instruments of the research but in accordance to the exiting topic, questionnaire and
interview are more valuable instruments (Mendy, 2018). Main purpose about the chosen of
