TITLE: To identify the effective talent management strategies to increases the productivity and
performances of employees in the hospitality organization.

Introduction
Talent management refers to the accurate procedure which is adapted by the business in
respect of hiring the suitable candidates for the particular post, enhancing their skills at work
place and providing accurate training to expertise their interest (Talent Management -
Opportunities and Challenges, 2020). The main objectives of managing talent in the organization
is results in gaining longer terms benefits in the business. Present research is based upon the
Marriott hotel which is founded in 1957 by J. Willard Marriott. In this report, the research is
conducted by examining its strategies and also best procedure to retain or manage the talent in
the organization.
Aim and objectives:
Aim: To investigate the effective talent management strategies pertaining in the organization – a
study on Marriott hotel.
Objectives:
ï‚· To understand the concept of talent management in the hospitality sector.
ï‚· To examines the strategies which is used by organization in respect of managing talent of
the employees.
ï‚· To assess the challenges faced by organization regarding managing the talent of the
employees.
ï‚· To provide recommendation to the Marriott hotel in respect of adapting the best talent
management strategies to gain longer term benefits.

Project Management plan
Scope: The scope of the project is set in respect of completing the project within the set time
period. The data which is gathered must be from relevant sources and thus, the information must
be authentic and useful for the other researcher.
Risk: In this, the risk which is examined is relating to lack of time management. Also, it is stated
that few places are restricted by the business, thus not complete data is gathered which is fixed
from the particular places (Heravi and Mohammadian, 2019).
Duration: It is related to the time duration which is set to complete the projects within the
particular time period. In this aspects, the time limit which is set is for 12 weeks for the
completion of entire project.
Cost: To complete the project, it is necessary to set the particular cost such as in this project, the
cost which is fixed is £350.
Quality: In respect of maintaining quality of the research, it is to be carried in respect of
coordinating with the tutor once the task is completed. So that accurate guidance is given and
also changes must be made within the stipulated time period.
Resources: To complete the research various resources are required such as stationary, electronic
equipment, transportation etc.
Communication: it is another important aspects of project as effective communication is to be
undertaken so that accrete detail and views are convey and also relevant information is to be
gathered in presenting the research in right way (Kordestani Ghaleenoe and et.al., 2017).

Secondary research
According to D'Annunzio-Green (2018) talent management refers to managing the talent
in the business regarding recruiting the efficient person to handle the task or also managing the
capability of the person to bring innovative ideas at work place. The strategies which is used by
organization or leaders to manage the talent is relating to leveraging the talent into different
department (Sheehan, Grant and Garavan, 2018). They also organize the talent hunt in which
multiple task is given to engrave the more skills among the employees. Flexibility is to be given

in respect of sharing their ideas and thought with superiors, thus training plays the major role in
this aspects.
D’Annunzio-Green (2018) stated that the challenges which is faced in managing the
talent in the relating to maintain ethical culture at work place, leader itself carrying wider skills
in respect of providing the effective training. It is also stated that retaining talent person in the
organization is also one of the major challenges faced by the organization (Chung and
D’Annunzio-Green, 2018).
Research methodology
ï‚· Research types: In this type of method, researcher carry two types such as qualitative and
quantitative method. Researcher had applied the qualitative method in which they choose
the questionnaire procedure to gather information from the managers of Marriott hotel.
ï‚· Research approach: In this accurate planning is undertaken to gather the information from
authentic sources. It divides into two types such as inductive and deductive. Researcher
had applied the inductive method to gather detailed information regarding to managing
talent from internal sources (Litosseliti, 2018). This is mainly chosen in coordination with
the qualitative method.
ï‚· Research philosophies: It refers to the ideas and thoughts to carry the research in right
way and further it carries two types as interpretivism and positivism (Rahman, 2017). To
present the data and information in effective way, researcher had applied the
interpretivism procedure to interpret the information which is collected from employees
of Marriott.
ï‚· Data collection: Two types of methods are used to collect data such as primary method is
used to collected data and present original information while in case of secondary data, it
is undertaken from articles, magazines, books and journals (Walliman, 2017). Thus, in
this both the method is adapted by the research to present both type of information.
ï‚· Sampling: In this research, researcher undertake the data from 20 managers of the
Marriott regarding collecting the data regarding examining various strategies in managing
the talent at work place.
ï‚· Data analysis: Data is to be analyses and interpreted by two method such as thematic and
non-thematic method (Bell, Bryman and Harley, 2018). To present the information,
researcher had adapted the thematic method in which they present the information on the
bases of choosing different theme.
ï‚· Ethical consideration: Ethics in this research is to be maintained in respect of carrying the
confidentiality and also carrying the consent form (Ahmedzai and Anwar, 2020). In
respect of consent from, it is to be signed by the managers before disclosing any
information in the research.

assented by 80 % of participant that the talent management strategies help the company in
managing talent and productivty of company. But this is not agreed by 20 % of respondent and
this is because of the fact that they have mantality that talent management does not imply to
productivity of company.

Interpretation: with the help of the above data and its analysis it was concluded that 90 % of the
participant agreed that the impact of the talent management strategies was positive over
company. This is majorly because of the fact that the talent management motivates the
employees to work in more effectvie and efficient manner. But this is not agreed by some of the
participant of the research.

the strategies of talent management will hlpe the company in managing the employees in more
effectvie manner. This is agreed by 70 % of participant that the major strategy helpful for
Marriott hotel is all of the above. This is majorly because of the reaosn that all of the above
includes providing clear job description, giving proper reward and recognition and timely givign
feedback to employees so that sthey can improve the performance of them. But rest of the
participant agrees to the options but on individual basis.

Interpretation: with the help of the analysis and evalaution of the above data it is clear that at
time of managing the talent there are many different challenges which the company faces. This is
majorly agreed by 60 % of the populaiton that the major challenge is the less growth opportunity.
This is a challenge because when company provide low growth opportunity then the employees
within company are not satisfied and try to leave the company. However some of the participant
agrees that high employee turnover is the mjor challenge faced at time of managing talent. But
some states that lack of leadership and some agrees that not having good organizational culture is
the major challenge being faced at time of managing talent witihn the company.
Theme 6: Some of the recommendations which can help improve company state in managing
talent.
Interpretation: with the analysis of the abvove data it is clear that managing talent witihn
workplace is very important because if the talent management strategies will not be inproved
witihn the company then employees witihn company will not be satisfied. Hence, the major
recommedation for improving talent management in company is to understand the need of
employees in proper manner. This is necessary because if the need of employees will not be
satisfied then they will not be retained witihn the company. Hence, for this proper understanding
of the need of employees is very important so that they will be satisfied and will work in more
effective manner.
