and developing skills of an employee. This is an important part of business success and growth.
Talent management is the role of human resource manager that assist business organisation in
achieving of strategic objectives (Islam, 2021). Talent management has direct impact on the role
of HR by reducing high employee turnover, improving satisfaction etc. For this report, Morrison
is a given supermarket chain in the United Kingdom. Company was founded in 1899 by William
Morrison and headquartered in Bradford, England, United Kingdom. Along with this, main
purpose of this report is to identify the major impacts of talent management on human resource
activities of Morrison.

Main aim of this research is “To assess the mutual effect of talent management and
human resources activities on Morrison success.

To determine the major roles played by talent management in Morrison.

Rationale of the research
Main reason regarding selection of existing topic is to identify the issues of ineffective
practices of talent management within an organisation. This research is important at personal and
professional level (HATTORI, IKEDA and YOON, 2020). At personal level this research helps

LITERATURE REVIEW
Literature review introduces to the process of gathering data from secondary sources which
are articles, books, journals and many other sources. There are some research questions that are
used for achieving each objective. Research questions of the present study will be explained as
below:
What are the main effects of talent mangement on the HR practice and practitioners?
According to the Al-Dalahmeh and Héder-Rima (2021), management of talent has direct
effect on the human practice and practitioners of HR. There are some effects of talent
management on the role of HR, which are defined as below:
Employee turnover: This is a major impact of talent management which is also a role of
human resource. Talent management at workplace helps business organisation in
reducing of high employee turnover within an organisation. This turn to help company in
achievement of competitive advantages within less period of time.
Wellbeing of employees: As per the view point of Agarwal (2021), this is another main
impact of managing talent at workplace. improving wellbeing of employee is a role of
HR in the working environment of company. This prove that talent management and role
of HR has direct relationship with them.
What are the roles of talent management in context of Morrison’s HR department?
According to the Momtazian (2020), talent management introduces to the process of
systematic attraction, identification, development, retention, engagement and deployment of
those workers who are of specific value to an enterprise. There are some main roles of talent
management that will be explained as below:
Attract top talent: Talent management helps Morrison in attracting of top talent at
workplace. This turn to impact on them by increasing innovation and creativity that result
in improved productivity.
Increase employee performance: Management of talent in the workplace support
Morrison by increasing performance of their employees. As talented employee influences

business performance of Morrison.

company at national as well as international level.
How challenges associated with the management of talent can be overcome by Morrison?
As per the view presented by Holwerda (2021), there are some essential and effective
ways for overcoming challenges associated with talent management. These will be explained as
below:
Training and development: This is an essential way for reducing the challenges linked
with talent management. For this human resource of Morrison have to provide training to their
employees. As it will help in increment of knowledge about business among workforce that
result in improved performance and productivity of employees.
Providing opportunities: Providing the charge of challenging projects to the workers
along with the responsibility and authority of the same, makes them more motivated and
confident.

Methodology is the essential process of collecting and evaluating data through research
instrument. There are various types of research methodologies which will be determined as
below:
Research philosophy: There are basically 2 types of research philosophies such as
pragmatism and interpretivisim. According to the present research, pragmatism philosophy is
used by researcher. Main purpose regarding selection of pragmatism philosophy is it helps in
collecting and evaluating of numerical or quantitative data in minimum period of time.
Research approach: This is the process of analysing data from inductive and deductive
approach. These are two main types of research approaches. Within a study, deductive approach
is more valuable because it supports in analysing of quantitative information. Main purpose
regarding the selection of deductive approach is it not require maximum time and helps in
getting of reliable outcomes (Advan, 2021).
Research strategy: This part of methodology facilitate investigator in collecting of data
through the effective approach of research strategy. There are various approaches of research
strategy, which are experimental, action research, survey, case study etc. These are essential but
according to the exiting topic, survey is a selected research strategy. Main purpose behind
selection of survey is it assist in collecting of numerical data from larger sample.
Quantitative and qualitative research: These are considering two main types of research
choices. In order to conduct present investigation, quantitative is a chosen research choice. As it
assists in collecting of quantitative type of information within allotted time period (Khdour,
2021).
Primary and secondary research: These are two methods of data collection that are used
in current investigation. For collecting primary information regarding the talent management,
questionnaire is used by investigator. In secondary study, there are certain sources including
articles, books, journals, magazines, publication research and many others. All these are selected
sources of secondary data. Therefore, within a study both primary and secondary methods of data
collection are used systematically.
Sampling method: Sampling is important part of methodology for researcher because it
will help them in selection of sample through sampling technique. There are two main

approaches of sample selection i.e. probability and non-probability. According to the current
study, probability sampling is a selected technique. Main purpose about the choosing of
probability sampling is it supports in selection of larger sample in less period. By using
probability sampling, 20 employees of Morison are selected randomly.
Research instruments: This is essential section of the methodology that have different
instruments such as observation, focus group, observation, questionnaire, interview etc. These
are important instruments of the research but for collecting data regarding the talent
management, questionnaire is used by researcher (Mishra and Venkatesan, 2021). Main purpose
regarding the selection of questionnaire is it give numerical information about the topic in
minimum period of time.
Cost: This is a main factor of conducting both primary and secondary research in systematic
manner. In order to complete both types of research, there is requirement of £1400 (around).
Therefore, without insiffienct amount of capital, researcher not able in completing of full
dissertation successfully.
Access: It is important for researcher to have proper access of doing both primary and secondary
research in systematic manner. For conducting primary research, researcher must have full
access from employees of Morison. For secondary research, investigator must have full access of
using books, websites etc. sources. Therefore, access is also important for conducting both types
of researcher i.e. primary and secondary successfully (Özçelik and Uyargil, 2021).
Ethical issues: There are various considerations of the ethics that must be follow by
investigator by conducting this investigation. These are informed consent, conflict of interest,
integrity, respect for person etc. These are main principles that must be flowing within a research
with purpose of completing each activity ethically.
Timeline: Time is essential part of the report because it helps in completion of full project
