1. Introduction
Talent management is that method which helps to manage the ability, competence and
employees capability within a firm. The basic purpose of the talent management is to recruit and
develop the best talent within an organization. In the same way, talent management also creates
positive impact upon the organizational performance and also assist to increase the employee
performance as well. Further, in this modern era, every company wants to be competitive and for
that HR and leader mainly focus to retain employees and hire new employees who may easily
assist company to provide range of new services which helps to grab attention of many
customers (Collings, Mellahi and Cascio, 2019). Thus, managing talent needs to be put in the
context of future which organization has visualized for itself only. Beside this, the talent
management also involves strategically planning career paths which also make sense for an
employees. That is why, HR and Manager are keep focusing on talent management.
Similarly, current research proposal also helps to provide the importance of talent
management in the service industry and also provide range of new approaches which are used by
company in order to cope up with many issues. Further, research proposal also describe the
research methods which assist the researcher to meet the defined aim and objectives. It also
describe reasons behind choosing this specific issue and type of research design which will aid to
perform the research in more precise manner.
2. Background and rationale of the research
Background
In this modern era, every company wants to be competitive and that is why, they recruit
and hire those candidate who assist business to meet the define aim and objectives. But due to
changing employees attitude, rising cost, every company's HR and manager faces issues related
to talent management. Therefore, talent management strategies must developed in line with a
particular needs and structure of business and industry. Thus, the main purpose of using Talent
management is to increase the organization performance and also keep motivating and engaging
employees so that they will perform better and aid to meet the defined aim and objectives.
Hence, as per the current situation, most of the company operating in hospitality industry faces
issues related to talent management and that is why, their performance level decline, also not
able to meet the demand of the customers (Jooss, Burbach and Ruël, 2019). Therefore, to meet

the gap, the current research helps to provide range of strategies and methods which will assist
the companies to cope up the issues and keep retaining the employees as well.
In the same way, current research also determines the ways or importance of range of
talent management strategies which creates positive impact upon organization performance. The
chosen hospitality company for this research is Hilton which is top hotel that provide range of
services to their customers and but sometimes faces issues related to talent management.
Rationale
The rationale behind choosing the specific issue is such that it will help readers to get
new information related to talent management. As staff retention, training and morale is the key
in any industry and that is why, every business working in the hospitality industry wants to be
differentiated from others. Thus, due to high number of business are rethinking the ways in order
to get most of the staff, but rising cost, recruitment difficulties and changing employees attitude
affect the HR and manger's decision (Greene, 2020). Thus, by study on the particular topic will
help to identify varieties of strategies related to talent management and thus, this in turn assist
the company to meet their defined goals.
On the other side, another reason for choosing the topic is such that researcher have their
own interest to study on the particular topic. It is so because study will help them to analyze
different strategies with regards to talent management and this will also help in their near future
as well.

The aim of the study is to evaluate the importance of talent management and its different
approaches which are used by the HR of company in order to increase the organization
performance, A case study of Hilton.

In research, types can be distinguished into qualitative and quantitative or mixed (Hennink,
Hutter and Bailey, 2020). Qualitative research or study focuses on analyzing or evaluating
underlying thoughts and opinions associated with issue. On the other side, in quantitative
research refers to the systematic investigation of phenomena by collecting information and then
performing statistical and mathematical techniques in order to get results which relies upon the
objectives.
In order to assess the importance of talent management within an organization and
ascertain the impact on performance level qualitative research type will be undertaken by the
scholar. Moreover, aspects pertaining to significance of talent management cannot be quantified.
Research will use qualitative research design method because it completely depends upon the
participants observations and in- depth interviews. This method is chosen because it helps to
collect the information from the selected participants and determine their views which in turn
assist to meet the defined aim and objectives.
5. Data Collection methods
There are two types of data collection methods such that primary data collection method
which is first handed information collection source through survey method, interview and
observation. Further, for secondary data collection methods, researcher uses different books,
articles and Journals which helps to identify the ways and importance of talent management in
Hilton and its impact upon organization performance as well. Therefore, by opting secondary
data collection methods, researcher will easily meet the defined aim and answer the research
question in better manner, in which researcher collect information from already published
articles and books.

6. Data Analysis
It is define as a process of transforming the data in order to discover the useful
information for making effective decision. In the present research, researcher will chooses
thematic data analysis in which data are provided related to the study in order to analyze the
importance of talent management within an organization. Also for that, different graphs and
diagrams are used which in turn assist the researcher to interpret the results through secondary
research in best and effective manner which in turn help to conduct the researcher in precise
manner.
7. Ethical Considerations
For completing the research in defined manner, research should take prior consent from
all the selected participants and also make sure that ethical application is approved. Further,
researcher must also maintain the confidentiality related to research data and also make sure that
the data is not used by someone else. Even the confidentiality should not only relate to research
data but it must be related to personal information of all the selected participants as well
(Sobočan, Bertotti and Strom-Gottfried, 2019). Therefore, researcher should also make sure that
any type of communication related to research should be done with honesty and transparency.
Moreover, any type of misleading information as well as representation of the primary data
findings in a biased way must be avoided. So that it will help to meet the defined aim and
objectives in proper and specified timelines as well.
