INTRODUCTION
Employees are very significant resource of an organization that works for achieving the
targets of company in a specified period time. To organize the workforce of an organization
talent management is very essential for maintaining healthy culture within working environment
(Bratton and Watson, 2018). This research report is based on Tesco that is a largest supermarket
company in UK established its presence in 1919. The company deals in groceries, home wares,
food, financial services etc. The main aim of conducting this research is to examine the concept
of Talent management as a strategic priority that is used by company for retaining talent. The
significance of this project is to understand the importance of talent management that helps in
attracting and retaining talent by improving satisfaction level of employees. The structure of a
current project inculcates aims and objectives on research topic along with brief discussion of
literature review and research methodology. It also inculcates research findings with an
presentation of facts using charts that helps in preparing a valid conclusion and recommendation
which is based on facts and finding.

Rational of research
The main reason for conducting this research is to gain the knowledge regarding concept
of talent management that helps organization to gain competitive advantage along with several
challenges that are faced by HR to manage talent (Muratbekova‐Touron, Kabalina and Festing,
2018).This research is also useful in demonstrating importance of talent management along with
the strategies to overcome challenges so that an organization operation is to be maximized.
Further conducting this research is helpful in as it helps researcher to understand several aspects
of specific topic that helps in developing their future career.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Literature review refers to contemplate of various scholarly data like books, journals,
articles etc. related to particular topic or a research questions (Anlesinya, Dartey-Baah and
Amponsah-Tawiah, 2019). The literature review is to be written as an essential part of research
in which research can research some specific topic to get valid information. In this investigator
get the facts and figures which are already exist on talent management along with the strategies
that helps in overcoming challenge related to talent management so that firm operational value is
to be enhanced and it will sustained for longer period of time.

resource processes which all integrate with each other.

As per the Latukha, (2018) view point, there are several importance of talent
management that helps company to manage their workforce and develops their skills and
capabilities for retaining them to a longer period of time. The major importance of talent
management within organization is to attract top talent which is useful to develop business
performance and results. It is also significant for motivating employees so that task is attained
on time. This will improve business performance by engaging workers towards the company
objectives so that customers are satisfied with the business enterprise.

available in organization that will create difficulty for management of an enterprise in managing

that fulfills objectives of an organization within specified period of time. Offer impressive salary
is the challenge that is faced in company in relation to talent management. Due to this business
enterprise faces issues in fulfilling targets that will affect profitability and productivity.

organization, several strategies are to be used such as effective communication, participative
style of leadership etc. so that workers are satisfied with the working culture that provides

gaining traction that creates high scope of sustainability by reducing the challenge within an
organization. Apart from this business enterprise also offers financial rewards to the employees
for developing their performance because employees are satisfied with this belongingness and

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Methodology refers to a process that help researcher to select, analyze, examine
and process the information related to a particular topic so that investigator complete their
research effectively (Zhang, Jia and Chen, 2019). Research methodology is very significant for
doing research because it presents the evaluation of research in a valid and reliable manner. It
includes several aspects that are approach, research philosophy, collection, analysis of data etc. is
involved which are fall under research onion that is elaborated below:
Research philosophy- It refers to that term which represents the way in which data about
specific topic is to be gathered, used and analyzed. It is helpful in drawing a valid
conclusion of research. This research is based on two methods that are positivism and
interpretivisim research philosophy. According to present study, researcher adopts
positivism research because it presents factual facts by observation. This research
philosophy is based on quantitative research where data are to be collected in numerical
manner.
Research approach- It is an essential activity that is linked with plan and procedure that
involves steps from broad assumptions which is used to collect, analyze and interpret
data. The research approach is divided into two categories that is inductive and deductive
approach. Inductive approach is used to contributing the emergence of new theories
whereas deductive approach is used to test the validity of assumptions. In order to select,
researcher use deductive approach because it focus on evaluating data by hypothesis and
convert it into observation to test the outcomes (Crane and Hartwell, 2019). It is crucial
for gather quantitative data that helps investigator to take suitable decisions while
involving research activities.
Research design- By carried out investigation, research design refers to a framework of
research methods and techniques that is used by researcher while conducting research. It
includes several aspects such as experimental survey, semi-experimental, review,
descriptive case study etc. For conducting this particular research researcher used
descriptive research design because it provides valid conclusion and helps in presenting
right judgment. This descriptive research is also helpful to determine attributes of

population to being studied. This helps researcher to present reliable information so that
valid conclusion is framing at the end.
Data collection- It defines as an activity that is used to gather data for particular research
topic. There are different sources for collecting data and information that may reflect
reliable results at the end of research. Data is to be collected by primary and secondary
sources and both these sources play crucial role as they both provide viable and reliable
information related to specific topic (Narayanan, Rajithakumarand Menon, 2019). By
using the data collection methods researcher conclude valid judgment at the end of
investigation. In this primary method of data collection represent firsthand information
that is directly prepare by researcher by using structured questionnaire. This
questionnaire involves close ended questions that are asked by researcher to respondents
for examine their viewpoint on particular topic. In this secondary research refers to that in
which data is to be collected by previously presented information that is books, journal,
and articles etc. all helps in providing in depth information on particular topic. With the
support of data collection method reliable results are presented that assist in presenting
authentic results.
Sampling- There are two methods of collecting sample i.e. probability and non-
probability method. In these probability methods is that where respondents are select on
random basis whereas non probability method is that where group of people are selected
by non-random basis. To complete the current research, researcher adopts probability
method of sampling in order to get reliable result. The main reason for selecting this
method of sampling is eliminating chances of biasness. Due to this researcher select their
data without any bias (Gallardo-Gallardo, Thunnissen and Scullion, 2020). The sample
size for collecting the data is 30 respondents who are the employees of Tesco.
Research limitation- by conducting this research, investigator face major issues and
limitations that impact negatively on results of research. The major limitation for
conducting this research is lack of time and resources in collecting data, respondents also
have hidden information, unethical behavior of respondents etc. It is very essential for
researcher to manage all these limitations by following ethical principles and preparing

From the above research it is evaluated that several approaches are present for collecting
data and analysis such as primary data, secondary data, inductive and deductive approach.
Primary data are very effective because it gives accurate information to the particular topic
because researcher collect data by observation, preparing questionnaire etc. at the same time it
consumer some drawback as it contains more time and cost. Further secondary method are useful
as it contain less time in collecting information because research can take it from books, journal
etc. whereas it consider some drawbacks that it will more time (Sparrow and Makram, 2015).
While conducting research, investigator also examines the suitable approach for completing the
research for this researcher search benefits and drawbacks of both approaches so that suitable
one is selected. Inductive approach is complex in nature that related with patterns, regularities of
experience etc.in order to provide conclusion. The main disadvantage is that the conclusion
drawn from this research is cannot be proved and can sometimes invalid. Deductive approach is
one that connects with positivism philosophy that facilitate best testing and scanning of numeric
figures. The major drawback of this is that conclusion drawn from this research is proved right if
premise set in inductive approach are true. To conduct this research researcher adopts Deductive
approach because it is based on existing theory and data which is best to test hypothesis that
helps in drawn valid and reliable conclusion at the end of research.
