INTRODUCTION
Talent management refers to the process of attracting selecting and retaining of
employees with the help of various strategies in the organization and involves a strong role of
human resource management in the completely life cycle of an employee working in an
organization (Wang and Wang, 2017). It is an essential process which helps a company to
identify their talented employees and work towards the retaining of employees for their success
and growth. Talent is not something that is recruited by human resource department but also it is
what an organization develop with the help of motivation and hard work of employees. This
research report contains various methods through which the data has been collected on the topic
to identify the role of effective talent management strategies in an organization to get successful
in the market. The researcher is conducted on Tesco Company and the literature review helps to
have in-depth knowledge about the topic. A survey has been conducted to collect the data which
is also provided in the report.
Overview of the Company
TESCO is a successful organization who understands the value of talent management and get
success with the help of management of talent in the company (Miiro and Burhan, 2018). Tesco
PLC is a British organization having their operations in many national countries and deal in
groceries and general merchandise. Tesco health headquarters in Welwyn garden city England
and are well known as third largest retailer of the world when they are measured with the help of
their gross revenues. The success of the company is because of their talented employees as the
company uses effective strategies to retain their talent.
Aims
The main aim of the study is “To identify various effective talent management strategies to get
successful organization. A case study on Tesco.”

Literature Review
The meaning of Talent Management
As per the view point of Ghosh, P, 2021, Talent management is wide term which includes many
activities that has been taken by human resource department and other management in the
organization to retain and manage talented employees in the organization. It is a process which
has been design in strategic management so that an organization can get right talent in the
company so that their capability is help the organization to grow in the market (Tariq, Ilyas and
Rehman, 2017). In case of Tesco the company is so particular about their employees that they
always wants to choose right and talented employees with the help of their effective human
resource team foster the human resource team of the company is trained in such a manner that
they are able to select talented and motivated employees for the company which will help them
in future focus and effectively and getting in the company (What is Talent Management?
Definition, Strategy, Process and Models, 2021). Apart from this the company also provides
training to the employee so that the employees can be able to develop their native skills and
enhance their expertise by effectively and aging in various activities of the company. This is also
process of talent management as improvement of an employee helps him to keep themselves
connected with the company and feels motivated to work and achieve long-term business goals.
This talent management has a direct impact on the business of an organization as it became an
important necessity in today's hyper change environment.
The effective talent management strategies in Tesco
According to the view point of Vulpen E. V. 2021, Tesco is the large organizations who use
effective talent management strategies in the organization which helps them to achieve success
in the market (Bakoğlu and Yıldırım, 2016). They provide detailed job descriptions about the
requirement which helps them in their talent acquisition process and wave of irrelevant
applications from the job. That detailed job description includes the overall duties skills required
tools and equipment used salary and benefits given to the candidates so that the company can be

able to attract only right applicants and the candidates that are suitable for the job. After the
application the human resource department is responsible to check whether the employees are
person or organization fit or not. If an employee does not fit in the culture of an organization
then it will be very difficult for the management to manage that employee in the organization. So
it is the duty of human resource department to check whether the employee will fit in the culture
of the organization or not. Another strategy that has been used by human resource department for
effective talent management process is the collaborative coach in a wall which is an important
strategy and helps to create a culture of coaching and mentoring with the help of collaboration in
the organization. This mentoring coaching and collaboration help the employees to prepare
themselves for the future of the organization and help the company to expand in the market.
Another strategy which has been used for talent management is the reward and recognize write
in which a proper rewards and recognition has been decided by the management for the effective
works in the company (Anguelov, Stoyanova and Tamošiūnienė, 2020). This helps the
employees to keep themselves motivated with the help of rewards and bonus packages and the
prices which provides recognition in the organization will also provide great opportunities to
them and help the company to manage talent by retaining the employees. Another strategy to
manage talent is to provide opportunities for continuous improvement to the employees which
can be possible with the help of providing training and development. This will help the
employees to work on their community skills and helps them to update upgrade and upscale their
skills for their growth and development. All these strategies are very essential for Tesco as it
helps them to achieve success in the market.
The role of talent management strategies in success of Tesco
According to the View point of Sharma, N and Samantara, R., 2015, Talent management
strategies plays an effective and important role in the success of Tesco as it helps the company to
retain the talented employees. Human resource are the most important resource of any
organization and requires to be managed and effective manner so that they can effectively and
efficiently uses this important resource. Tesco goes out of their way to develop and nurture the
talent in their employees which involves a good amount of cost to the company with the help of
training and development. If the employees leave the job in a very short period of time then it
will makes the waste of their money that are suspended on the training is meant of the
employees. This not only effect the employee turnover rate in the organization but also affect the

cost involve in the operations of the organization. This talent management process also helps
Tesco to provide collaboration and social skills to their employees that are very important for
employees to develop their intellectual caliber or productivity (Kalitanyi and Goldman, 2021).
This has a direct impact on the success of the company as enhancement in the productivity of
employees and the company will directly help Tesco to achieve success in the market.
Methodology
Project management plan
Project management plan refers to a plan which helps the researcher to develop a proper
methodology and budget for conducting a research. There are many important aspects of a
research which needs to be controlled by a researcher for a successful research that are explained
below
Cost:Research involves a certain cost to collect the data analyze it and publish it for the
use of many individuals in the market. For the purpose of this report that it has been collected
with the help of survey which has been conducted with 20 employees of the company Tesco. To
complete the research in effective manner total budget of 42000 pounds has been prepared as
there are many things that will involve a large cost like preparation of questionnaire printing and
many more.
Scope:Talent management is a wide concept and has a greater scope to collect data from
the market. In case of Tesco the company is considered in successful organizations who have
successfully achieved their growth and expansion plans with the help of their employees. The
scope to collect data for the present report is very high that it will help to reach at various
positive outcomes for the research.
Time:Research involves a certain cost to collect the data analyze it and publish it for the

communication between them. The questionnaire prepared for the purpose of this research is on
the basis of effective communication between all the team members so that required data has
been collected for the purpose of the research.
Quality:The researcher has taken the data from the employees of Tesco who have a
proper knowledge of the management and strategies that are used in the company. As quality
data has been collected for the purpose of research the research is of high quality to reach at
authentic and reliable result.
WBS:WPS stands for work breakdown structure and to conduct the research the work
has been divided in smaller parts so that the book has been distributed to the team members and
complete the task and effective manner. Work breakdown structure for the purpose of this
research report has been given below:

are required to conduct research and effective manner (Rehman and Mazhar, 2016). This

Primary and secondary research
The data for research has been collected with the help of two sources that are primary
source and secondary source which helps to define a research. Primary research as a result it has
been collected from the raw sources and it has been analyzed and interpreted to reach at a
positive and desirable outcome. Whereas secondary research is a type of research which has been
used to collect data from various published sources data provided by other authors and is
presented in the form of literature review. For the purpose of this research both the sources has
been used that is primary sources and secondary sources which helps to identify that either the
research is primary research and secondary research. The data has been collected with the help of
a survey which has been conducted in the Tesco Company by selecting 20 employees of the
company randomly to ask various questions related to that effective time management strategies
used in Tesco (Schirmer, Eber and Bourdon, 2020). Data various journals books and articles that
are referred to collect the data and are considered in the secondary sources of data collection.
Qualitative and quantitative research
Qualitative research refers to process of research in which research and has their focus to
collect quality data with the help of various sources available in the market to collect data. This
qualitative research is their focus to collect quality data in spite of collecting statistical data and

is presented in the form of literature review to provide proper reserves and outcomes for the
research. Whereas in case of quantitative data the researcher has their focus to collect data in
statistical formed which can be graphical representation and integrated to reach at desirable and
authentic results. In case of present research both qualitative and quantitative data has been
collected for the purpose of providing authentic results for the research and the researcher has
used secondary data to collect qualitative research and petitioner has been used to collect
quantitative data for the purpose of this research.

using these effective strategies of talent management. Some of the recommendations which has
been made to the company are explained below:
Tesco is recommended to make more effective strategies how to manage talent in the
organisation. It is recommended to Tesco to have updated performance management
technology so that it became easy and effective for human resource department to
manage their talent and their performance in the company so that they can be able to
analyse effective talents.

and important process for an organization that should be used by a company for their future
growth and expansion. Tesco also use talent management in their organization so that they can
be able to retain their talented employees with them and provide better services to their

which resulted in the success of the company that Tesco is able to expand their business in many
countries. There are various tools that has been used by researcher to manage this project of
research and a survey has been conducted by the researcher to collect qualitative and quantitative
