Section Five: Research approach and methodologies
What type of research approach and methodologies are you likely to use and
why? What your areas of research will cover:
Research methodologies consists of various methods which assist researcher to
perform the research systematically. There are different types of method that
researcher can use to including research philosophy, approach, strategies, research
design, data collection method etc.
Research philosophies – It is considered to be a belief about the ways in
which data is collected, analysed and used while conducting a research. An
accumulation of both interpretivism and pragmatism is used in this research.
Justification - In order to study the physiological aspects related to the
study by focusing on qualitative data interpretivism approach is being used
in this research. And to address the issues associated with real life problems
associated with the research aim pragmatism is taken into consideration
while conducting this research. A combination of both of these approaches
will help in enhancing the overall reliability of conclusion drawn using this
research.
Research Approaches – This step establishes the plan for entire
investigation. In this research, combination of inductive and deductive
approaches is used. In this research a combination of both approaches are
being used.
Justification - The reason behind using inductive approach for this research

is its compatibility with qualitative approach. In addition to that, deductive
approach is also used while conducting this research as it is compatible with
the quantitative dynamics associated with the research topic. Since this
research will require both type of data, qualitative and quantitative,
therefore, it is suitable to use both inductive and deductive research
approach.
Research strategies – This focuses on the overall plan for carrying out a
particular research. There are many research approaches such as instance
case study, experiment, survey, action and others. Out of all the
aforementioned research strategies, survey is taken into consideration while
conducting this research.
Justification - Survey is being used for this research as it is a cost effective
methodology and helps in collection of data from a large number of
respondents. With the help of survey interviews can be conducted, in
addition to that, questionnaires can also be conducted, which will help in
collection of raw data. Another importance of all these tools is that, it helps
in collecting authenticate information in minimum possible time and helps
in accelerating research on fast pace.
Research Choice – In this section, the choice associated with the use of
appropriate methodology in conducting research is made. There are three
types of research choice including quantitative, qualitative and mixed
methodologies. While conducting this research mixed methodologies will
be used.
Justification - Among these types of methods, researcher will make use of
quantitative research design in this particular study so that numerical
information can be gathered. Selection of this method will help researcher in
drawing valid research outcomes. Qualitative data is also used in this report
