1. Introduction
In the modern times, the Talen Shows make use of Text based voting systems or SMS
Polling systems. These systems allow a person to vote based on a text message.
2. Discussion
2.1 Working of Talent Show Voting System
The voting systems within talent shows is based on the responses provided by the
audience. This is a form of interaction is based on association based on the responses of the
audiences. The different Audience Response System (ARS) are composed of software and
hardware systems. This form of software would have similarity to presentation software. These
kinds of devices are similar to the remote controls of television, which send infrared signals to a
receiver (Redden 2016). This receiver is attached to the computer of the presenter. The software
system present within the computer records and thus is able to display the responses gathered
from each audience.
2.2 Tracking of Responses by ARS
The audiences within the talent shows are provided with clickers or keypads. These
devices are embedded with receivers that are able to transmit signals. The responses that are sent
by the audiences. The devices are registered to a particular device. Whenever the user would
send a response, the information would get stored within a database.
2.3 Display of Results
Based on the polling results, the ARS includes the use of software that runs on the
computer of the presenter. The responses are tabulated in the form of a bar chart and are
displayed on a projector screen.

2.4 Hardware and Software
The ARS requires the use of wireless hardware. The primary technologies that are used
are radio frequency (RF) and infrared (IR), Bluetooth or Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) technologies
for communication with the reciever. The ARS systems helps the presenter for collection of data,
display polling results and export data based on reporting and collection of analytics (Kühbeck,
Engelhardt and Sarikas 2014). The other requirement models that are required are Mentimeter, or
a form of plug-in such as Keynote or PowerPoint.

Hence, from the discussion it could be concluded that these devices are extremely useful
for collection of responses from the audiences.
