TARDIS
It is a group of medical centers that are located in different locations in southern Tasmania. They
provide a range of high quality of services and always strive to ensure that this is done in a
professional manner. The company has an online service for its clients which provides booking
services to them. The company seems to be having quite a number of challenges when it comes
to the information management system which may hinder the full realization of the potential that
they have.it is important to note that the medical centers do not have an information management
strategy and thus this poses a great risk when it comes to managing the crucial information that
they have of their patients. A number of interviews were done in order to try and understand the
importance of the information management strategy on the business and the report on the key
issues that were discussed are analyzed below. (Hwang, Lin,and Shin,2018 pp.220-227)
Audio 1
Introduction
The discussion is about a small medium enterprise that mainly focuses on the health sector. The
company has several facilities in the south of Tasmania and is looking to open up more in other
states as time goes by. They have a staff of 45 people who are tasked with providing quality
patient care.
Theory
The company ensures that they have a strong system of health records and thus they use
information data to do this. Health records are private in nature and thus they ensure the
management of information data they have collected is done in the correct way. They use
specific software that is relevant in the medical fraternity to maintain their data information. The
company does not have an information management strategy at the moment as they are still
growing but plans have been undertaken to have one. The company also ensures that they share
relevant information on all their sites in order to enhance efficiency. There have been several
challenges in relation to the management of information but this has been dealt with in order to
ensure the integrity of the data collected
Conclusion
The knowledge of information management to the company has been instrumental as it has
enabled them to attend to patients adequately as the data on the patients are stored properly and
accurately. This has come in handy in emergency cases. Therefore information management has
contributed greatly to the growth and the success of the company by ensuring the prompt access
of information.( Laudon, and Laudon, 2016)

Introduction
The interview is about the TARDIS overall mission and statement and how the business
integrates the management of information in its operations. It looks into five core values that
guide them in enhancing their service delivery. This includes the need for integrity, compassion,
respect for all, commitment to the work and the continuous improvement.
Theory
The access to data is controlled by having an axis differentiation depending on the role that one
is undertaking in the business. The people who are involved in the administrative part of the
business can only access information that is relevant to their work but not any other kind of
information. They have minimal physical records as most of the information is saved on soft
copy thus securing their data. For the small physical records, they can rely on CCTV cameras in
order to control those who are having access to the information contained there. (Mao, Liu,
Zhang,and Deng,2016 pp.1062-1074)
Conclusion
Information management is key to the growth of the business and thus the proper management of
this enhances the growth of the business. The fact that the business has maintained almost all of
its data on soft copy means that the data cannot be easily manipulated and also the durability of
the information is guaranteed. Also, the fact that the places where the physical records are being
kept are secured general means that the information in there can only be accessed by selected
people in the business which ensures the privacy of the documents are enhanced

Introduction
The interview focuses on the lack of the information strategy and how the business therefore
intends to operate with other forms of information strategy that may be in house. The interview
discusses on the implications of the information strategy on the business and the long and short
term goals of information management on TARDIS.
Theory
The business has not come up with a proper design of the information strategy as they are still
looking at a number of factors. Also, it is not the top most priority of the business now as they
have other pending issues that they are currently working on. (Orna,2017) .They engage external
specialists to handle matters on IT ho have to sign confidentiality agreements in order to secure
the business information. They aim to maintain external resources in order to support the
business in the short term goal of the information management. In terms of the long term, the

business will require an IT support stem and thus this is something that will have to be looked
into in the future.
Conclusion
Information management strategy is important as it provides a basis in which the information of
the business can be secured and used accuratelty.it also ensures that the confidentiality of the
data information is no compromised and also saves on the cost that will be incurred in the hiring
of specialist every time. Therefore, it is important that the nosiness looks critically into the
matter in order to ensure the efficiency of information management in the business

Introduction
The interview is about the kind of changes that need to be implemented in order to ensure that
the efficiency of TARDIS is enhanced in all areas of information management strategy.it
provides an insight on the steps that have been taken since the acquisition process in order to
improve the management of information and especially through the setting up of the information
strategy.( Ogiela,2015), pp.154-159)
Theory
The first thing is to increase the personal knowledge when it comes to information management
through interacting with other people in the information sector. This generates new ideas that are
important for the business. The business is changing its chart of accounts since the acquisition
process in order to incorporate more the IT department and the resources that are relevant in
promoting its growth. This will ensure more emphasis on the information management strategy.
The fact that the patient records are held by the internet provider is unsafe as anything may
happen to them and thus the business may lose crucial information.. ( Webb,2017)
Conclusion
A lot of changes need be undertaken in order to ensure the business is operating at the best level
that will ensure the adequate delivery of service. Thus it is important to transform the
information management in order for it to conform to the norms of quality patient health care.
The changes will usher in new developments in the way the information is handled in the
business and the requirement of each of the staff in terms of handling relevant information.
