Target UK Project

Introduction
 The aim of this presentation is to discuss the business case
and the project plan that is prepared for Target UK
 Target US is a famous retailer group who plans to expand
the project to UK as well
 However, the previous expansion project of Target group
had failed due to improper project planning
 The presentation will give an idea of the business case and
project plan for the Target US project

Key Findings from Literature
 A literature Review has been undertaken in order to identify and
understand the importance of project initiation and Planning
 Project initiation and Planning is important as it helps in
requirements identification and identification of the project
specification
 The Initiation and the Planning phase is followed by the project
execution phase
 Adoption of a phased project management approach is
recommended for Target UK project

Introduction to the Case
 Target Canada Project had been a failure mainly because
of improper project planning and requirement
identification
 The Project could not meet the customers’ need and
therefore the project failed
 The software that had been developed for the expansion
was faulty
 Software testing and bug fixing was necessary
