Introduction
The purpose of the report is to provide the details of the services that are offered by Lake
Taupo Lodge services. The lake Taupo is located in New Zealand in the North Island of the
country. The lake Taupo lodge services offer excellent accommodation services to guests at the
lodge which is located at a position beautifully overlooking the lake. The history and the services
offered are discussed through the study.
History and Background
The lodge was constructed on a 10 acres wide land adjacent to the Taupo Lake in New
Zealand. The owners of Lake Taupo Lodge are Gary Akers and his wife Shirley Akers. The
construction of the lodge was officially complete in 1996 (Lake Taupo Lodge, 2018). The lodge
services started from the same year. The owners were very keen gardeners and the lodge from
the beginning had lush gardens surrounding the main building. The lodge has now become one
of the most recognized places for accommodation in the area. The north island and the lake
Taupo is already an important holiday location and Take Taupo Lodge offers a homely
environment within a 5 star luxury hotel setup (Roper, Collins & de Jong, 2015).
Lake Taupo lodge onsite and Offsite services
The onsite services offered by the hotel are great towards improving positive customer
interactions and experience. The lodge offers rooms that are designed for comfort and increasing
the aesthetic value for the guests. Most of the rooms offered provide brilliant views of the lake
and the surrounding mountains (Balli & Tsui, 2016). There are game room facilities with large

sized billiards tables for the guests. The lodge also offers high speed Wifi facilities to the guests.
Moreover, for the corporate and business guests the company offers small conference rooms
facilitated with latest technology (Lake Taupo Lodge, 2018). However, the main focus is towards
accommodating tourists and guests that come for relaxation. The lodge offers private chefs to
guests and provides 3 TVs in all the suites. The lodge further provides, in the main lounge,
facilities such as DVD, Video and Satellite television. Various board games are available for the
guests. The lodge also provides newspaper and magazine facilities. Some of the unique services
provided are the selling of the works of local artists to guests and availability of important office
equipment (Gillovic & McIntosh, 2015).
The offsite facilities are provided through three basic packages. The Golfers dream
package offers customers the opportunity to play golf at the international standard Wairakei golf
course with many side facilities being provided by the lodge for 5 days. The fisherman’s dream
package provides facilities to guests for fishing in the lake with special side services like boating
being offered. The two day escape package offers guest sightseeing services in the lake and the
other special attractions around the area.
Conclusion and Recommendations
In conclusion, it can be said that the lake Taupo Lodge offers essentially beneficial
facilities to the guests. Hence, it is one of the most important accommodation businesses around
the Taupo River. The most important aspect is the homely environment being offered by the
lodge. The guests are very much engaged in the operations of the lodge and are among the
unique selling points as the host’s engagement is crucial towards the success of the lodge.

It is recommended that the lodge increases its space through the constructions of other
buildings in the vicinity. Moreover, it is important that more people are recruited in a seasonal or
permanent basis in order to serve the influx of large number of tourists in the region. Integration
of the local community and traditions within the services provided can help the business to
positively evolve.
