Role of teacher assistant
The role of teacher assistant (TA) is crucial in learning activities such that they
contribute ideas to planning in meeting with teacher and support staff members. Also, they are
actively involved within delivering learning activities. Along with this, teacher assistant also
prepared a class so that pupils understand things effectively. Thus, they also give feedback to
teacher and make suggestion to improve children's performance as well.
Planning: It means to involve students and teacher to prepare agreed activities,
worksheet and relevant materials (Tölkes, 2018). Thus, it is essential for teacher assistant to
make any provision required for a learner with special education needs during planning stage.
Review: It is all about to identify the progress of a students. In this assistant determine
whether pupil is involved properly in school and being a role model, it is a duty of TA to review
what learning objectives of planned activities are delivered.
Delivery: TA has to understand roles in order to delivery learning activities and for that
they use appropriate materials agreed with teachers. Thus, it is a method to support and enable
learning process within students.
Contribution of teacher assistant to evaluation:
TA identify the need of students and then setting up equipment in order to deliver the
best learning activities. Further, they keep evaluate the performance of a pupil and develop
improvement strategies which will be agreed by teacher as well (O’Donovan and et.al., 2018).
Thus, teacher assistant collect information about children from parents and keep record as well.
Through such records teacher identify the key developments among pupil within specific period.
It is reflected that through proper evaluation, students as well as parents identify performance
level too.
Contribution of teacher assistant to planning, review and delivery:
TA has their own importance in education sector because they are completely aware of
aim and objectives of a learning activities. During planning phase, TA assist teacher to prepare
with new ideas, learning materials, organize and manage learning experiences within premises
(Rapanta and et.al., 2020). So, at this stage, they have to look after the problems which might be
arise that affect the delivery of right learning activities. On the other side, during review, TA
monitor the learning of pupil and if needed, teacher may adjust the way of delivering learning

activity. They also help teacher by carrying out different types of observation within classroom
and then provide information about pupil's response, identify where they needed help as well.
Thus they provide a realistic picture about success of learning activities about their evaluation.
Beside this, during delivery phase, TA share the workload with teacher and assists in supervising
children's behavior. Also, they made reports which includes the learning activities that delivered
during classes in order to evaluate the actual performance. So, the contribution of TA regarding
these phases is quite crucial that assists to build confidence among children as well.

If a child was hungry/thirst
Potential problem: the problem may affect the performance of a student because student may
divert due to such things.
Solution: In order to overcome such problem, teacher defined specific time for each activity i.e.
hungry or thirst. Thus, in such defined time, students are allowed to eat or drink, otherwise they
will be punished. Teachers should get pupil used to saving work regularly.
If a child was misbehaving
Potential problem: It is related to behavior problem and due to not having effective resources
within planning stage, this situation might occur.
Solution: Provide training to the pupil in which they understand how to behave with others.
Also, at initial stage these things are not controlled then it is not possible to omit the same.
If the child was distracted by the weather outside/ outside noise
Potential problem: It is related to the learning environment of a classroom in which teacher do
not give proper attention to children and that is why, student take an advantage form the same.
Solution: Teacher and TA must use creative ideas that seek attention of each student. This also
assist them to prevent from such situation, also windows should be properly closed (Boelens, De
Wever and Voet, 2017).
Someone’s birthday in the class
Potential problem: The problem is related to learning environment which might be positive or
negative. Such that it raises the noise level that affect concentration
Solution: during such situation within classroom, ensure that classroom is properly sound proof,
so that others do not get distracted.

Lack of equipment/ equipment failure
Potential problem: Problem with resources is considered a basic issue because most of them are
not charged (laptop).
Solution: Make sure to aware of a location of consumable such as printer and toner. If find any

Importance of evaluating learning activities
Evaluation is important when planning because it allows teacher and TA to ascertain
whether learning took place by considering the right methods which in turn assists to improve
future activities among children. Also, this in turn helps to ascertain the effectiveness of entire
process and also determine the need of changing as well. Therefore, with proper evaluation,
teacher analyzed how the activities are being received by participants, also ways of improvement
if needed any. In order to evaluate learning activities which are already performed in classroom,
teacher or TA carefully think about learning objectives at planning stage, and then compare the
same through outcomes as well (Assessment for learning activities, 2021). For example, during
an activity, student looked bored then it the defined task is too easy and also not suitable or
beneficial for that group. At this stage, teacher need to evaluate the ways and change the strategy
so that students become more engage and they use enough time to complete the same.
