significant opportunities towards exploring the gateway towards better understanding
(Gauthier, 2018). The essay tries to highlight the role of a teacher in the global content with

Discussion
Role of education
One of the significant functions of education especially the schools and other
educational institutions lie towards the qualification of the children, adults, and the young
people and children. Education provides knowledge, understanding and the ability to stand
for one’s own self. To those who have been devoid from any education due to numerous
reasons such as terrorism, education becomes a tool for alleviating their situation. Education
empowers the children and the adults for becoming the active participants in the societies that
has been transforming rapidly. The role and the purpose of education is generally inevitable
for the new generation that enable for solving the real problems in the society (Copenheaver,
Neff & Rockoff, 2015). Education helps in the changing an individual’s conduct of life. It
furthermore helps in upgrading the ability of an individual for choosing the best alternative.

and the development of the nation rely. The purpose of education is thus to focus on the
attitudes, values and behaviours that enable individual learning characterized by diversity.
Educational issues are the current topic for debate across Australia and the world. The
provision of effective education from the kinder garden to the college is vital for the
upcoming future (Zeichner, Payne & Brayko, 2015). Some of the challenges with the
education and the system of education reflects the current social issues and the political
issues. These include issues like reduced access to education, inequality in education, lack of
teachers, lack of children wanting to study, restrictions on girl education and so on.
Analysis and evaluation
The education is a lifelong process and without the help of the teacher it is generally
incomplete. According to the national policy of education, it gets challenging for the society
to rise above the standard above the process of teaching. Development of the human
resources is the responsibility of the teacher. The process of education has to develop the
spirit of services, the social sensitiveness, the co-operation and the moral character within the
student. The local or national educational context has witnessed and continues to witness
remarkable changes in the present century. Increased focus on mental health and mindfulness
seems to be one of the top trends within the Australian educational context. Organizations
like Smiling Mind, The Resilience Project, Trinity Kids and so on are endowing teachers with
applications, activities, music, talks and meditation to assist children in facing mentally
painstaking world of school (Prytz, 2019). This has increased the role of teachers and their
skills as well, other than just academic. Another trend that could influence the role of teachers
in the local context is the increasing dependence on technology. The trend has already taken a
front role in both primary and secondary education in Australia. The teachers are now
expected to be well acquainted with the technology such as online modules and virtual

classrooms. The global trends are largely similar to the local trends or it could be stated that
the local trends have been inspired by the changing global trends. The use and integration of
technology is a global trend. One of the most glaring trends of global education has been the
dissemination of education beyond borders. The teachers now have to be culturally
competent as well in order to teach a class of students with diverse cultural backgrounds. As
has been mentioned in an article in The Conversation, teachers are now expected to have the
abilities of teaching, motivating and a “desire to make social contribution”
(Theconversation.com, 2019).
The challenges of the equity in the public education is one of the rising issues. Equity
refers to the principle that all the students throughout the world are afforded with equivalent
opportunities of education. It sets a higher standard for how the educational opportunities of
the student across the globe ought to be provided (Hyland, 2016). Although the desire for the
provision of the equal opportunities both in the term of horizontal and vertical equity to all
the students throughout the world is noble, there are various challenges associated with the
implementation of the equity signifying the equal treatment of all the students within the
diverse variation in the classroom.

and intelligent decisions regarding the practice for the achievement of the various outcomes
with and for the students in the class (Biesta, 2009). In the global context, it is the role of the

of the various outcomes with and for the students in the class (Biesta, 2009). From the global
context, it is the role of the teacher to make judgements regarding how best to help the
students for learning in the environment where they teach. This includes knowledge of
diverse knowledge and language skills for the students hailing from different cultures, origins
or having any sort of disabilities. The role or the responsibility of the teacher in the global
context reflects regarding the practice for growing and improving. The role and the
importance of the teachers in the new approach of the twenty-first century includes various
models (Cole, 2017). With the change in the era of the globalization, the model of the
education has been undergoing various changes. In this situation, together with the addition
to the role and the responsibility of the teacher as the provider of the knowledge, the teacher
needs to undergo a various number of roles. These includes teacher’s role as the role model,
positive choice making, thinking out loud, admitting the mistakes and improving from the
learning, being self-disciplined and showing respect to the others.
After analyzing the impact of the global and local trends and its influence on the
teachers’ roles, it could be evaluated that these trends provide greater scope for teachers to
develop. Firstly, the teachers are provided better opportunities to develop their skills and
strengths while on the job itself. The global trends such as technological use and integration
into classrooms, student exchange programs and increased focus on producing competition-
ready students have alleviated the role of teachers. The professional development of teachers
in Australia is now no longer limited to once in a term but has become continuous. This
process now includes weekly setting of goals, students filling out feedback forms online and
principals making regular observations by walk-through to the classrooms. An increased
emphasis on mental health and mindfulness now allows teachers to learn more deeply about
their students. However, too much focus on technology and other aspects have somewhat
marred the actual value of education, as Klemencic and Fried (2015) argue. According to the

authors, due to the constantly changing trends in both local and global context, teachers find
it difficult to adjust and accommodate flexibly. This results in lower quality of education and
declining interest in teaching. Therefore, it is important to take into account all the aspects of
education and the role of teachers while introducing new trends.
The educational issues are the hottest topic of the debate across the world. Some of
the issues and the challenges with the education reflect the current social and the political
issues including the problems like the inequality in incomes, gender diversity and the issues
of the civil rights which is an ongoing issues within the system of the education. In this
section various literary reviews of the researchers will be highlighted. According to the study
by Biesta (2015) the research study identified the gap or the differences that is prevalent in
the existing services and the requirements of the students and the teachers in the context of
the quality education. The research revealed the rising inequality and the factors such as the
poverty and family non-cooperation together with the poverty are contributing to the
disruption in the education in the global context. Gobby and Walker (2017) in their research
paper examined the need for reconnecting with the purpose of the education in the light of the
recent tendency for focusing the discussions related to education over the measurement and
the comparison of the educational outcomes. The research paper highlights on the context
what exactly should have been the topic of the educational discussion and how there seems to
have disappeared from the agenda of the education. The paper furthermore highlights on
three of the major purpose of education that is referred as the qualification, the socialisation
and the objectification. The author in the paper raised question regarding the argument related
to the direction and the purpose of the process of the education and its practices.
On any of the list of the current issues related to the education in the global context,
and also for the context of the state and the nation, the funding in the school ranks the top
among the issues or the challenges. According to Locatelli (2017) the lack of proper funding

that includes both the government funding and the funding from the private investors is
resulting in certain challenges in the effective propagation of the education within the
country, state and the world. Lessor the lack of the proper funding results in smaller number
of staffs, fewer range of programmes, and diminished amount of resources for the students
towards getting the good amount of education in the school. Lack of funding is also a hurdle
for the recruitment of the teachers who are the main ingredient for the propagation of the
education for making its purpose effectively.
My philosophy of education
This section will highlight my personal insight regarding my philosophy of education.
I believe that the education is a unique experiences for each and every student which is
beneficial for them for sustaining and for the development in the society. In the context of
education, the role of the teacher and the role of the school are the important factors that
furthermore needs to be considered. Taking from the context of Delpit (2006), I believe that
schools are not only the place for the acquisition of the knowledge . They are the social
institutions that have tend to emerged out of the cultural, social and the political desires of the
communities. Besides the essentiality of the education and the role of the teacher in the global
context I furthermore believe that knowledge, power and pedagogy is one of the best-silenced
weapon for educating the other's people's children. With the rising rate of the globalization in
the globe, the alternative pedagogical approaches form the tool for addressing the challenges
and the issues of the education.
Conclusion
Thus it can be concluded from the above essay that education helps in the changing an
individual’s conduct of life. It helps in upgrading the ability of an individual for choosing the
