Reason why it is essential for teacher to become partner with parents in advocating for rights and
services of children with disabilities
There is a need to become a partner with parents because through that teacher may easily
understand the actual need of disable child and through two way communication between
families and schools will help to provide student's success. Through equal involvement of
teacher and parents may help to identify safety concern and ways to solve the same (Watson,
2019). While on the other side, if teacher become a partner with parents then they helps to deal
with conflict and also develop strategies as well. Moreover, teacher- parent relationship also
helps to increase child performance even he/she is disable.
On the other side, communication and partnership with parents is important because
teacher need to be prepare to work with diversity of caregivers. For example, teacher has to
encourage parents to phone at specific time of a day in order to determine what kind of services
school is provide to their child or grooming (Heatl and Votruba-Drzal, 2019). As teacher posses
observation skills which work when teacher work with parents in order to determine how the
needs and wants of disable child may be given. At that time, there is a need to get proper support
from parent side so that their child may get best services from teacher and school. For that,
proper communication should be done which helps to increase motivation for learning, improve
behaviour as well as attendance, as a result, child feel better and make positive attitude too.
