Introduction
Everyone wishes to have a teacher like Rita Pierson. According to her, kids don’t learn from
the people whom they do not like. The basic evidence is notably true and Rita accords that
such a simple fact is a great factor in the growth and success of a student in the field of
education. Rita understands that it isn’t always easy to be a teacher. According to her, there
are students that some teachers can’t stand and certain policies which would intervene in their
teaching values, however every student should be made to be felt seen and valued (Pierson,
2013).
Analysis
Teachers do not make huge amounts of money and their major achievements are usually
shared with family and colleagues and not with the media. Despite of the lows and highs,
teachers cannot think of another profession which brings them challenge and joy on a daily
basis (Chalkbeat, 2018). In the spring of her career, Pierson found herself questioning the
choice of her life’s work. The paperwork was overwhelming, her students did not appear to
be motivated, and the consistent change in the direction of education was discouraging
(Pierson, 2013). Pierson realizes the importance of being a teacher who is competent in
nature. However, many of the teachers are poorly trained and unqualified. Many of the
teachers work tirelessly for rectifying such an issue. She says that there should be a
connection between the student, teacher and the lesson that is taught, or else learning can
become tiresome for all the people involved (Chalkbeat, 2018).
A learner’s confidence, dialogues, exploration and mutual respect is encouraged by strong
relationships. Rita Pierson made it her business about knowing every possible thing she could
about her students. These included the places they lived at, the people they lived with, the
numbers of siblings they had, the number of times they changed school, if they lived in an
apartment or a house, etc (Bright Horizons, 2018). Her actions were sometimes considered to
be extreme by many people, however she referred these actions as preparation for what could
lie ahead. Rita believed that it is easier for developing an alliance if more is known about a
person. Authoritative parenting is one of the styles of parenting which is characterized by
high demands and high responsiveness (Bright Horizons, 2018). The parents that are
authoritative, are responsive to the emotions of their children while keeping their standards
high. These parents continuously enforce boundaries and set limits consistently (Larzelere,
Morris and Harrist, 2013). After years of research, it has been recognized by the experts that
the best parenting style among the four styles of Baumrind is authoritative parenting which
usually helps in producing the best results in children (Baumrind,2013).

It has been found by studies and researchers that the preschoolers that are raise by parents
who are authoritative tend to be content and happy, are self-reliant and independent, have
better social skills, great self-control and emotional regulation. These children cooperate well
with peers and express warmth, they have interests of exploring new environments without
being afraid and are considered to be assertive and competent. The authoritative parents are
attuned, warm and nurturing and listen to their children.
