Introduction
For being a good teacher, it is important to teach not only with their minds but also
with their hearts. A great teacher is one who are able to interact with students both physically
and mentally and are affectionate.
Thesis Statement
This paper is going to produce few major points supporting the thesis “A good teacher
is someone who is not only knowledgeable but are compassionate towards their students”.

Main Point 1
According to Göncz (2017) an assertive teacher is a good teacher. Being assertive is
an approach towards gaining a high level of attention from their fellow students. "It is the
responsibility of a teacher for controlling their classroom in a positive attitude."
Main Point 2
It is also been noted, by acting like a friend the teacher is more likely to gain their
student’s attention. "Professionalism need to be maintained and teacher should try to listen
and talk about topic that are beside course studies" (Lee, Yeung, Tracey & Barker, 2015).
Main Point 3
Further, a teacher who is able to teach in different ways are also considered to be the
best. Students believe a best teacher is able to teach in a big variety of ways by using
different materials making are easy to understand (Yoon, Sulkowski & Bauman, 2016).
"Along with being firm, a good teacher must be empathetic to each of their fellow students."
Conclusion
Being a good teacher is not easy as only subject knowledge is not enough to teach
effectively but also needs to be compassionate. A good teacher should be assertive in nature,
have a friendly attitude, empathetic and are able to teach in a variety of ways.
