MAIN BODY
English Language is a West Germanic Language which originated from medieval
England. It is one of the widely used language in the world which makes it quite necessary to be
learnt and applied in daily use (Crystal & Davy, 2016). To enhance the scope of usage of this
language, I plan to teach TESOL Course, which is an English speaking course for individuals
whose primary language is different from English. The students I intend to teach would be
individuals ranging from 16-45 years of age. They might not necessarily belong to any specific
level, however, a little bit understanding of the language would be much appreciated to start the
teaching with a head start.
English is a quite important and a very necessary language to be learnt, adapted and used
by individuals globally. The first and foremost reason as to why individuals need to learn English
is that, this language is applied for international communication. It is because more than 53
nations and almost 400 million individuals globally use English as their primary language
(Reasons Why Learning English is so Important, 2018). in addition to this, it is one of the most
common and popular secondary language in current global linguistic scenario. Another major
reason for which this course is necessary is that English is most commonly used in international
business. It has a dominant presence in the international market and cross-border
communications globally are performed in English Language only. Moreover, despite all these
important factors reflecting the necessity of learning this language, another viable reason for its
adaptation and learning is that English could easily be learnt due to little hard work ad
consistency, which makes it all the most effective for individuals globally.
During the TESOL course, I have slightly different yet effective methods for teaching
this language to these students (Garton, Edge & Seedhouse, 2016). The learning methods
adopted for the course would be interactive and fun which will make the learning a bit more
easier as well as progressive. To attain the same, Presentations would be the primary learning
methods adopted in relation to developing communication skills of the students in English.
Another prominent teaching method which will be used in the course is interactive sessions and
role play exercises. These exercises will be centralised to enact several plays in English which
would enable them in using this language more frequently. Apart from this, regular tests would
be arranged to evaluate their learning and adaptability as well as application of the same. All
these activities would be focusing towards making them better at using English more easily.

Furthermore, these learning methods would be ensuring their engagement within the lectures and
would focus more on keeping their interest in the language to enhance the likelihood of its
application. Moreover, my teaching techniques would also help them to reflect on their own
mistakes and appropriately take initiatives to improve their shortcomings as far as English
language is concerned (Nuske, 2015).
