techniques led the individuals to make correct choices and it always works. Behavior
management plays an important role in student’s life; it is very beneficial for the students.
Students who adopted behavior management techniques can easily reduce all the negative

Motivation- Teachers should motivate their students for their better future; they should
know how to motivate students so that they will able to bring the best outcome from every
student. Motivation is a key behind every successful person, motivation encourage the
individuals to perform their best work. Motivated individuals always look to put their best

Activities- Activities must be there in teaching as it is a great step to make students learn
new things with the help of various activities. These are the physical activities which can
be introduced so that it will make the students to learn new things in a more appropriate
manner. As everyone knows practical knowledge always last more than theoretical
knowledge and with the help of activities students will be more focused towards the
studies and will able to gain lots of knowledge (Klug, et. al., 2015).
Inviting Imitation- Students always keen to find their key models in the school and
admire them for their better future. It will play an important role in development of their
skills. It is also necessary for the teachers to support those students and also respect them
and their efforts. There are many sub-principles which promote imitation like to develop
good relationship with students, always maintain a good discipline and personalisation in
learning.
D. Analyse other principles of behaviour management for group and individual behaviour
management

Student who works in a group will be able to respect each other, respect each other
efforts while working in a team and also respect each other perceptions and value each
other’s work.
Students will get to know each other skills as they are working in a group and also they
will get to know the ability by which other students work and it will encourage them to
do more hard work (Harrison and Oakland, 2015).
It will bring lots of opportunities for them as while working in a team, various challenges
will be there which will provide lots of opportunities.

roles)
Include the following theories: (Maslow’s Theory of Basic Needs, Herzberg’s
Motivational Theory).
Theories of behaviour management are as follows:
Maslow’s Theory of Basic Needs- it is known to be one of the best theories of the world.
Maslow states that people always looking for something more in their life and the things
that they want more is totally depending on the thing they are having currently (Yusoff,

teacher and whenever teachers address their needs they will be happier. Due to which
they will be able to remain more focus towards their studies
Always avoid judging- when students get to know that they are judging by their skills,
they started feeling de-motivated. As every student have different skills, and according
to that they do their work. Students get de-motivated very quickly which resulted in loss
of self-confidence.

Task 5:
B. Use your research and practical examples to provide a written analysis of the role and
use of initial and diagnostic assessment in agreeing individual learning goals with your
learners. Explain why it is important to identify and meet the individual needs of your
selected learners
Initial assessment is the process in which they identify the individuals learning and after that
support them by providing various learning programme. They analyze the learner’s need first and
according to that provide various functions like various skills, competence and knowledge which
is very helpful for a new learner. Another need which a learner wants is support so that they do
not have to face many barriers in their learning programme. Initial assessment always a critical
process because it is the first step of learning process and the future is depend on the initial
assessment (Fletcher, et. al., 2018). Motivation plays an important role in the initial assessment
as it is the initial stage in which students are not that motivated towards learning new
programmes and as a result motivation is needed. Motivation encourages them to remain focus
and learn new skills and new programmes. Learning goals cannot be achieved if the individual is
not fully motivated therefore motivation has a huge impact in achieving learning goals.
Diagnostic assessment is a process in which teacher get to know about the qualities of students
like their strengths, weaknesses, skills and their knowledge. According to that teacher can assign
work to the student and they will know which student needed support and which student will
work on their own (Freeman and Lewis, 2016). There are lots of benefits of Diagnostic
assessment which are as follows:
First benefit is teachers have the knowledge about the strengths and weakness of the
students and according to that they can give support.
Teacher can work on student’s weakness so that it will boost their confidence
Teachers know the skills of the students and as a result they will help them to improve
their skills if someone has lacking in their skills.
Therefore, role of initial and diagnostic assessment is much needed in achieving learning
objectives of individuals.

It is important to identify and meet the individual needs because it will help the learners to gain
new knowledge and also improve their skills. As the learners are in their initial stage so it is very
necessary to improve their skills and provide them efficient knowledge which will help them in
their better future. Due to which they will remain motivated towards their goals and remain focus
on giving their best efforts. Individuals also looks to fulfil their specific needs as without
fulfilling their needs, they will not be able to remain motivated towards their work. If individuals
need get fulfilled then they will get more motivated towards their work. It will help the
individuals to achieve their learning objectives. Individuals in their initial stage gets distracted by
many things and they cannot fully concentrate on their learning objectives. At that point of time
motivation plays an important role, it motivates the individuals to remain motivated towards their
learning objectives. As a result, individual remain motivated and achieve the learning objectives.
It is important to identify and meet the individual’s needs because there are lots of benefits of
that and these are as follows:
Improving and achieving quality- In the classroom, there are different types of children.
Some of them are quick learners who can learn things very quickly but some of them are
slow learners who take time to learn new things. Every student has different abilities and
different skills and their performance based on their skills. When the teacher identifies
the strength and weakness of those students it will help them to improve the quality. As
the teacher ensures that students who are slow learners will not left behind so they have
to teach in a way that every student will achieve their learning objectives.
Developing new talents- In the classroom, students are very young and they are
developing their skills but they are not that experience to find out their actual talent. In
this scenario teacher identifies their skills and they are experience enough to guide those
students to develop their talents and wider their skills. Teachers give them a big support
so that those students can work on their skills and challenge them to so that they can
grow their skills more (Kornhauser, et. al., 2014). This helps the learners to develop their
talents and become a successful person in the future. Teachers always try to make their
students confident enough to face new challenges and this will bring new opportunities
and result in developing new talent.
Creating Interest- Whenever teacher motivates some students it will boost their
confidence and encourage them to focus on their learning objectives. In some cases,
11
Document Page
teacher will not able to direct every student and in that scenario some students need
instruction from teacher personally. But lacking of that result in demotivating the
students from their learning objectives. If teacher give instructions to every student
personally then it will encourage them to do hard work towards their goals. It will
motivate them to achieve their learning objectives and developing their new skills and
abilities.
Planning activities in classroom- Once the teacher gets friendly with the students then
they will get to know the strength and weakness of every students. They also get to know
the likes and dislike of those students so according to that they can organize various
activities in the classroom. It will help the students to get familiar with every one with
the help of the activity. Also, it will help every student to learn new things with the help
of various activities as students get to learn new things quickly with the help of
activities. This is because students take more interest in the activities as compare to the
theories and this will help them to achieve new skills and learn new things quickly.
Activities will be based on students need, through activities teacher can work on
students’ skills and help the students to develop their skills
Organizing the classroom and maintain a learning environment- When the teacher
identifies the characteristics of every student, they will get to know the fact that which
student is a slow learner or which is a quick learner. According to that teacher have to
organizing the seating management in such a way that students who are slow learners
can sit with quick learners (Darling-Hammond, et. al., 2014). This will help the students
to interact with each other and help the students to develop their learning skills. Teachers
can give instructions personally to those students who are slow earners. This will help
encourage those students and boost their confidence s that they can work on their skills
and enhance their skills.
As we all know that education plays an important role in everyone’s life, education is the base in
every student’s life and getting right and proper education help them to achieve success in their
life. It is an important task for every teacher to meet students need but this will help the students
in becoming more active and confident. Identifying student’s skills is very much needed because
now teacher can help the students to enhance their skills and support them in achieving their
objectives. Every student has different abilities, some are good at certain thins while some are
