INTRODUCTION
Learning is an activity through which a person is able to grab knowledge and then use it as a
positive aspects in order to enhance the growth and to achieve its particular target. There are
various areas where learning is carried out like schools, seminars, conferences and many more.
Coaching, teaching , mentoring are the ways through which a learning can be carried out. This
report will cover the roles and responsibilities of coach in order to get the best out of the
students. It will also analyse the different ways through which a coach is able to meet the goals
of different candidates. it will also cover the different ways through which a coach can improve
its own skills which would support it for one and one teaching.
TASK 1
A) Difference between teaching, coaching and mentoring and explain the responsibility that your
role describes.
Learning can be provided by coaching, teaching, mentoring to in order to enhance the
skills and knowledge of an individual as well as a group of team. These terms are very similar to
each other (Yeldham and Gruba, 2016). But it can be differentiated according to roles and
responsibilities of the characters. Like teaching is all about knowledge and information that is
related to a particular subject matter. whereas, coaching is done in order to achieve individual
performance for a particular task. on the other hand, mentoring focuses over the efficiency and
skills of an individual.
Mentoring: the main role of mentor is to give advice, to give direction to the team or individual
and then to get their feedbacks in hope of achieving their particular agenda. the major
responsibilities of an mentor is to analyse project targets and then motivate individuals to achieve
the organisations goal. A mentor should be very friendly to the feedback that has been given by
the individuals which help to build a strong relationship between the mentor and team or
individual workers (Bhattacharjee, 2015).
Coaching: this is a another way of learning any concept which focuses over polishing present
skills of an individual. It is a long term process which concentrate over weak points of an
individual in order to get best out of them. in this, experience of a coach is very important for the
students or individuals because a experienced coach knows various methods for instructing an
individual in different manner which increases the confidence level of a student (Hood, N.,

Littlejohn and Milligan, 2015). coaching also includes their particular agenda over which they
focus to achieve the target. Coaching process also includes consequence of behaviour and their
impacts.
Teaching: it is a learning process which can be carried out by a group as well as one on one
person in order to improve knowledge and supply latest information to the individuals. Teaching
can be carried out by many ways like by arranging learning programs like workshops , seminars
which supports most of the students to understand , questioning and by this way it would be
easier for them to grab useful content regarding there subjects ( Grey, Williams and Rebuschat,
2015 ).
Through roles and responsibilities a teacher, coach and mentor can be define. It is very
significant to plan a appropriate strategies through which a candidate is able to target over its
goals and objectives. Responsibilities which are played by a coach are as follows
proper guidance and direction: a coach , mentor and a teacher all has a huge
responsibility of providing proper instruction and feedback to the students in order to support
them to achieve there targeted goals. For example, if a student wants to set career in sports than
the coach would describe the importance and the future that the students is going to make in it.
The coach would give different instruction and methods through which the candidate will be able
to make career in sports. Coach would advise the candidate to take admission in one of the best
colleges for sports ,through which the student will be able to take part in numbers of
competitions and this will support the candidate to achieve its goals (Thistlethwaite and et.al.,
2016).
Motivating and challenging: there are various methods through which individuals as
well as team can be motivated in order to meet its destiny. As a coach, I always used to motivate
students in order to increase the confidence level of the students. I used to train them harder for
there competitions so that whenever they faces any difficult challenge, they are capable enough
to handle it with a good outcome. With the support of more and more challenges , a learner is
able to accept negative results in a positive way, so they don't get demotivated with a negative
feedback( Woodard, Pozzan and Trueswell, 2016 ).
Discovering new methods: sometimes it happens when a student faces failure . At that
time, a coach should provide solutions that are efficient as well as good for there career,in order
to transform that failure into the success.

B) indicate and review the effectiveness of your role that supports the students in achieving there
gaols.
As a coach it comes a huge responsibilities in order to get best out of the students. A
coach needs to analyse the situations of every individual candidate in order to grab the weak
points of his student, than to strategies the plans that includes good learning for there students.
Coaching is performed in different ways through which a individual as well as a team is able to
polish its skills and knowledge (Mallahi and et.al., 2016).
Analysing the requirement through initial assessment : as a coach it is very important
to analyse the needs of a student. So that whatever plans are going to be strategies it will be
according to that only, as these plans affect the achievement of a goal. for this I organise many
competitions which allow me to identify the perspective of each students and through these
competitions it is easier for me to analyse weak and strong points of a candidate. And this also
allow me to focus over the candidates who needs more attention towards them to achieve there
goals (Cohen and et.al., 2018).
Modify candidates to analyse there own needs: it is very important for a candidate to
be well known by its own needs and purpose for doing that. This would support them to be
efficient about there work ,and a efficient work results in achieving there targets .
Appreciate preferred learning styles:there are various learning methods through which
a candidate is able to polish its skills and knowledge. Like by presentation, classes ,seminars and
workshops etc. by different learning ways I am capable enough to analyse the interests of each
candidate and than after this use appropriate ways to boost there knowledge as well as skills. For
this I make sure most of my classes involve visual presentation which is very effective for each
and every students to understand and figure out there needs and requirements (Rickson and
McFerran, 2014).
TASK 2
A) strategies that can support in learning
Strategies that can be used in teaching, coaching and mentoring
One to one discussion- This can help students to learn and will also help me in analysing the
problems that can be faced by students. I prefer to interact with individual on the basis of one to

Practical implementation of activities- For better knowledge I provide candidates with practical
examples rather than theoretical aspects. This can assist students in better learning.
B) Factors impact on referral process
Referral process facilitates information about capability and expertise individual have, so
that suitable actions can be take. I had gone through to Referral process of applicants and took
appropriate actions to enrich their cognizance. But it’s been affected by some factors. Some are
discussed as under -
Characteristic of applicants- characteristics tells the quality and preference, qualification of
individual. If an applicant has energetic and dynamic personality, then different tool can be use
for learning whereas an orthodox type choose traditional way of learning(Souza, 2015). Also,
minimum quality qualification and skill required in training subject otherwise it will hamper
efficiency of training.
Adequate resource- learning process required some physical resource like proper place with
required facility internet access, the latest technology equipped machines, computers stationery.
If these resources are not available on time or up to the mark, quality of learning may affected.
Availability of Specialisation - some area of learning demands specialized mentor and teachers
in order to upgrade existing knowledge and new technology and approaches to thing done
rightly. If these specialisation needs are missing, learning program become worthless (What’s the
difference: training, coaching, teaching, mentoring, 2018).
Interest clashes – every learner has their own area of interest, background in which they want to
grow more. Generalised training programmes create conflict of interest. So there is need of
customised training programs cause single approach can not satisfy all.
Different Motivation level -learning process directly and deeply affected by motivation level.
You cannot learn and teach anything to one who don't want to lean. So before going further
firstly motivation must be infuse in form of motivational speeches, certificate, testimonials, etc.
Student mindset – students have different choices and preferences of how they want to learn.
Different priories and mindset affect training programme. Club same people in a team can solve
this problem (Souza, 2015).
Different agency in which I wanted to work are as under -
