INTRODUCTION
Every profession has its own importance in their respective field. This might contain range of
ways through which development can be made along with the downfall of the same. Teaching
profession is one renowned and valuable profession worldwide which is being respected by all.
Alike every profession, the respective area has been emerged with the passing period of time
(Lewis and Holloway, 2019). The present report includes detailed knowledge on the duties,
responsibilities and tasks of teacher. Also, it will cover information regarding historical
emergence and development of teaching profession. Moreover detailed description about policies
and legislation, changes to society which might be linked to the emergence, development and/or
changes to teaching profession over time, successes and downfalls of teaching profession and
lastly recommendations for the same profession for the better implication of the work would be
done in an appropriate manner.
MAINBODY
In order to present the following task occupation or profession of the teacher has been taken
as the main one. This profession attain high respect from all the sectors as they are helping
children to develop themselves and grow themselves for the future growth in an appropriate
manner (Carter, 2018). Details about the respective profession have been explained below in
detailed manner:

Duties of teachers
The main duty of the teachers is to develop such a learning environment where children
or students’ can develop their learning in an appropriate manner. Also, teachers now a days
focuses on adopting several new and creative ways through which they can effectively maintain
the interest of the students in the learning session and provide them opportunities to learn new
things through which they can attain success (Price and Weatherby, 2018). The next duty of the
teacher is to analyse the overall growth pattern of the students so that the lack area can be
effectively assessed by the tutor in an appropriate manner. Along with this, it can be further said
that by analysing these growth documents teacher as well as parents could take required action
through which students’ can attain growth in rapid form.

Responsibilities of teachers
To develop notes, tests and assignments for the students in order to check their
intelligence level.
Organise lectures, resources and presentations for students so that required knowledge
can be delivered to them in timely manner.
Provide personalized instruction to each and every student in order to encourage
interactive learning to them effectively.
Conduct and organise educational events for the students
Emphasise on maintaining cleanliness within the classroom as well as overall
organisational premises.
Organise parent teacher meeting and have appropriate interaction with the parents so that
students’ growth can be assessed and checked. This also provides knowledge to the
respective ways or actions that can be taken by the students in order to improvise the
learning of the students in a lucrative form (Bergmark, Lundström, Manderstedt and Palo,
2018).
Allocate and grade homework, assignments’ and test for the students.
Prepare students’ progress document and evaluate them at constant basis.
Tasks performed by teachers in their professions
Alike every profession, teaching field also has its own tasks that are required to be
accomplished by the teacher in order to justify their jobs. Here, it can be said that the main task
that is required to be performed by the teachers is to maintain the results scores of the students
and also ensures that maximum number of the students attain good scores in their monthly and
quarterly examination (Horvath, Goodell and Kosteas, 2018). Also, teachers are required to focus
on conducting few innovative and creative learning sessions where they can learn new things in
interesting manner. Along with this, the teachers are also expected to conduct few regular
monitoring and assessment test through which growth of the students could be assessed in an
appropriate manner.

With the passing period of time, it can be said that the teaching profession has been

society. The history of teaching can be traced to Confucious (561 B.C.), who was the first
famous private teacher. Many ancient Greeks hired private teachers to educate their children. In
the Middle Ages, learning institutions such as Cambridge University were founded and teacher
training became required (Schleicher, 2019).
It has been later acknowledged that in the initial time housewives as well as ministers
were becoming the first teachers of the child. In colonial time, first school first school has been
established in 1635 which was initially developed for the women for preliminary education and
for boys it was developed till secondary education.
Later on, it has been analysed that in 1800s people became more aware about the school
and importance of teaching whose result, can be seen as more than 500 families have started
sending their students to the high school. In the year 1857, national teachers association has been
developed which further became largest labour union that fought for basic rights of teachers and
improvise condition for their profession. With the passing period of time in 1900s teaching
condition of professional became more convenient to them. Also, more number of male staff
became teachers who teach students in an appropriate manner (ses and Saab, 2019). The teaching
profession emphasized improving teaching methods to accommodate the new educational needs
of a changing society.
Current teaching pattern clearly specifies that the now a day’s teachers often make use of
television as well as computer which makes it easier for them to acquire several educational
possibilities and also makes the learning pattern easier for children. The Carl Perkins Career
Education Act 2002 increased awareness of vocational and adult education. Many teachers now
focus on preparing students for careers through technical education.

Teachers are required to follow all policies and legislations related to their profession so
that they can sustain longer within the industry. Some of the main policy as well as legislation
within this profession includes Australian education act 2013. It can be said that this act clearly
specifies that the teacher ensures that provide quality education to the students so that they can
attain higher level of success in the near future (Konst and Scheinin, 2018). Along with this, it
has been acknowledged that inclusion of this act helps students to develop themselves in such a

and Maxwell, 2018). As a result, the more people are getting job is reducing unemployment level
within the society.

Teaching profession includes both the success as well as downfall. The main success
points of teaching profession is the reasonable hours, job security, excessive holidays and
working hours, respect, good salary and many others (Puustinen, Säntti, Koski and Tammi,
2018). At the same time, the lack areas related to the same profession are Excessive paperwork
for data collection, Lack of teamwork, empathy, and support between students, Keeping up with
the expectations of school admins, Teachers working too many roles at the same time and others.

Conclusion
On the basis of above specified report, it has been acknowledged that teaching profession
gets respect from each and every field across the world. Here, it has been analysed that alike
every profession this field grows over the period of time so that they can attain success in rapid
manner. It has been later acknowledged that teachers are also required to adhere with the policies
and legislations so that they can remain free from the issues. Also, computer and other
technological based methods are acknowledged as the modern medium of teaching that make it
easier for professional teach the students in an appropriate manner.
Recommendation
In order to overcome the weak areas, the teachers are also required to emphasise on
attend some training session with which they can improvise themselves as the teacher and
provide better learning session to the students.
