Recommendations include youth involvement in social welfare organizations, education, awareness campaigns, improved communication with the government, and team building strategies. The report concludes that due to the island's smaller population, youth-led initiatives can effectively address the social challenges through awareness programs and collaborative efforts.

• Turks and Caicos is an island that is believed to be first discovered by
Columbus.
• It is an island under the governance of the British Territory.
• The area of study is the capital of the country, Grand Turk.
• It is the second most populated city of the country.

Rationale of the study
In the recent period, is seen that the rate of teenage pregnancy
among the city has been heightened. More and more young girls have
now seen to be dropping out of schools because of this reason. The child
and maternal mortality rate have been seen on rise over the past few
years. More importantly, the city does not have any policies
implemented or awareness programs regarding the same. Therefore, it is
very important for the youth of the society to come forward and take
proper measures to deal with this social challenge. They must
voluntarily create a social service organisation to address this issue and
help the young mothers.

Significance of the Program:
Since, the islanders are solely dependent upon the tourism and fishing
industry for the financial purposes, the country is posed with the issues of
poverty even with population of a little more than 50,000 that constitutes only
about 8-9% of the whole demography of the country. Secondly, the country
has been a victim of a number of natural calamities and is likely to be a victim
of more as per the opinions of the weather forecasting agencies, but the island
is still very much vulnerable to account to these issues and there are no
agencies or organisations to help during such time of difficulties, yet
(Kennedy, 2013). Also, the city is now posed with increasing population that is
contributing to other factors of challenges to the country. However, the
pressing matter, that is viewed across the country is the problem related to the
Teenage Pregnancy.

Needs for Social Welfare Organisation
• The city is facing a sudden population increase.
• The city is faced with issues regarding booming of tourism industry,
such as, running out of fish and other seafood which are their primary
food sustenance.
• The primary problem is increasing rates of teenage pregnancy. The
increased rate of pregnancy further is contributing towards poverty,
reduced health index, child and mother mortality and poor socio-
economic conditions of the society.

Reasons for Teenage Pregnancy
• Increased rate of tourism is contributing to the practices of pedophilia,
sexual abuse, rape and prostitution.
• Settlers from the neighboring countries are introducing the practices of
drug dealings in the city.
• Teenagers are seen to become substance users.
• Lack of education and awareness related to unsafe and unprotected sex.
• Cultural ban on contraceptives.
• Poor socio-economic condition of the society.
• Lack of doctors and health centers.

Effects of Teenage Pregnancy
• Increasing mother and child mortality.
• Increasing population and poverty.
• Affected health index and GDP.
• Increasing unemployment.
• Poor lifestyle.
• Effects on the mental health of the teenage mothers.
• Role dilemma and effect on the psychological well beings on the
teenage mothers.

Methodology
To gain knowledge of the understanding and orientation of the people
regarding the current scenario of the city. For that purpose, a survey and an
interview process needs to be conducted. Therefore, the data collection
process included both the Qualitative and Quantitative methods of data
collection.
The qualitative method included interviewing the youth population to
understand their orientation, understanding and approaches to the current
social setting.
The quantitative data collection method included survey mong the
population of the city and to understand the level of awareness and their
orientation regarding the social setting and issues of the city.

Findings
From the conducted study the following points have been understood.
• The majority of the population including a significant number of youth are
unaware of the current social situation.
• The financial situation of the city works as a restricting factor to approach to
these social issues.
• The government agendas and policies are not well addressed and effective and
well targeted.
• There is a communication gap presented between the population and the local
government bodies.
• A majority of the population do not have the knowledge of the proposed and
taken government policies to address these issues.

Needed Recommendations
• The youth must voluntarily open and join in the social welfare organisations.
• They must include and understand the usage and significance of team building to
approach the social problems.
• The youth are needed to be aware of the situation.
• The youth must be educated properly.
• They must exercise awareness and educational campaigns among the population.
• Rigorous educational and awareness programs must be exercised among the
women.
• Communication with the government must be improved and they must be
approached and pursued to take proper actions to approach the current social
scenarios.

Conclusion
Since, the city is demographically much smaller with a less number of
population, it is easier for the youth to conduct and practice awareness
campaigns and programs.
