Team 3
The presentation provided a detailed analysis of Boeing and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. A
description of the background and the problems faced by this company was also highlighted by
Team 3. The supply chain of Boeing and Boeing 787 Dreamliner was also analyzed. Boeing is
one of the largest aerospace companies which is providing an excellent service to the passengers.
Boeing is trying to operate in new routes and expanding its service. It is providing service to
more than 150 countries. A history of the evolution of Dreamliner 787 was described in details in
the presentation. The main goal of the company was to reduce the financial risk and thus develop
new aircraft. There were also certain loopholes of Dreamliner which was highlighted by the
team. Though the supply chain of Boeing was aimed to reduce the development or cost at
different times but it did not do so (Sonnemann et al., 2015). This led to radical changes in the
production processes and thus an attempt was made to introduce a new aircraft. This radical
change was developed so that it can implement this step in a very short time. Though it was
difficult to develop a new aircraft in a very short span of time but attempts were made and
several steps were taken to be successful. Moreover, enterprise resource planning helped in
manufacturing, integrating information and development of human resource. The radical change
process was not successful in case of Boeing. In such a case, Six Sigma process has helped
Boeing to reduce cost and improve its product line (Nesakumar, Suganya & Jayasree, 2016)
Team 4
Team 4 has analyzed the change approach which was adopted by Santa Cruz Bicycle.
Santa Cruz builds and designs mountain bikes for extreme conditions. It has adopted the radical
approach and thus this has helped them to realize the improvement goals. Santa Cruz has made

radical changes to bring solutions to virtual pivot point. Another issue of Santa Cruz was it poor
competitive and inefficient outlook. The radical change adopted by the organization has helped
to attain improvements in these goals. Moreover the management of Santa Cruz bicycle was
replaced by different computer aided designs. There was integration of new means of production
(Rebitzer, 2015). Santacruz Bicycle has achieved 100 % efficiency by adopting radical change
management tool. It has been able to increase efficiency and competitive advantage. Moreover,
the small team of radical bicycle has made the transition smooth and easier. The managers were
also able to identify the inefficient processes and thus this has helped them to choose appropriate
solutions. Thus, the business process redesign was effective for the mangers of SantaCruz
(Norman & Verganti,2014).
Team 5
Team 5 has discussed the business processes of Santa Cruz bicycle. The company has
adopted the product life cycle management and thus this has helped to optimize the design
processes. The business processes of Santa Cruz bicycle involved research and development,
manufacturing and testing processes. Though these processes were looked after by different
departments but Santa Cruz was trying to reduce cost and thus adopt a common objective.
Moreover, it can be said that a common business objective will make it easier to achieve the
business objectives. Santa Cruz bicycle focused on “big picture” and the PLM system has helped
the engineers and the designers to make further adjustments. The companies can also adopt
incremental changes easily which will help them in choosing a business process to improve
easily. Thus, it can be said that the PLM system will help all the companies as well as Santa Cruz
in improving its business perspectives (Hayes, 2014)

Team7
Team 7 has focused on IBM developers who are trying to improve the social networking
processes. Alice Chao, the director of IBM keeps a close watch on Mydeveloper profiles and the
volume of traffic on the site. Alice Chao keeps a close monitoring and thus identifies the
technological changes and trends which need to be adopted by the company. This will help the
company to improve further and it can engage more people in such departments which need
further improvements. Moreover, the reward program of the company will motivate the
employees to take special initiatives and thus contribute to the development of the company. The
reward program will also help in improving customer relationship and it will be beneficial for the
company to improve the profitability. The company can also retain their customers through this
reward programmes. Thus, to stay competitive in the market and to be preferred by the
customers, it is necessary to build good rapport with the customers (Brown, 2014).
