1. Read through the “Belbin’s 9 Team Roles” document available in Moodle and then in the
space below write the role that you would usually assume in a team environment and
provide a short statement to explain your choice.
Considering my qualities and the understanding of who I am, I often assume a chairperson
role. I love coordinating my team and also admire watching people grow in their talents
(Aritzeta, Swailes and Senior, 2007). I can quickly identify new skills from my team
members. Additionally, I can manipulate individuals into achieving the objectives without
them knowing (Belbin, 2018).
Trainer Feedback: S NS (_____/1)
2. Complete the assessment activity document located in Moodle and write the role the
activity identified you would usually assume in a team. Was it different to the above? Do
you agree with the results and why have you responded this way?
Based on the calculation from the assessment activity and its analysis table, the totaled points
conclude that I am a coordinator or a chairperson. This conclusion coincides with the
mentioned role in the first question. A total of 6 out of 8 points fall within the letter “c” which
represents the chairperson type role. I am confident in my decisions but at the same keen to
details (Mackechnie, 2013). Furthermore, I am goal oriented and even though I am
manipulative I aim to bring people together in a project (Mindtools, 2018).

3. Choose a team to which you currently belong or have belonged in the past.
Describe:
a. The purpose of the team.
I was in a project team that was working on a class assignment. The project was on
identifying the barriers to maintaining proper health care practices in various health facilities.
The team was supposed to collect enough data from multiple hospitals, analyze the same and
give the exact problems in detail. Additionally, the team was to give practical solutions to the
presented issues.
Trainer Feedback: S NS (_____/1)
b. Define the team’s vision. If the team did not have an articulated vision either
create one now or discuss what impact not having a vision had.
The team never had a stipulated vision since on our view as team members it was a short
project that would only last a few months. However, this assumption worked against us and
the entire project. Most of the times we lacked a proper format of approaching the research
questions. Whenever we collected data, analyzing them with a single aim became a problem.
Consequently, it took us a long time in realizing the stated goals because we lacked a definite
vision.

c. List the goals of the team.
The team goals were subdivided into three. The first goal of the project team was to work
within the set time which was in 3 months. This was meant to keep the team members on
toes. The second goal was to cover each set milestone perfectly without exceeding the
required time. Going past the period would mean using more resources and time. Finally,
working as a team was a primary goal of the entire team since corporation enhances the
effectiveness of the team.
Trainer Feedback: S NS (_____/2)
d. Give an example of 2 team objectives.
The very first objective was to collect data from all registered public health facilities within
the city. Reaching out to all health facilities will assist in gathering accurate information. The
second primary objective was to give solutions to the defined health challenges facing
different hospitals in town.
Trainer Feedback: S NS (_____/4)
e. List stakeholders that shape the team’s role by placing expectations on them.
The first stakeholder involved in the team’s objectives and goals was the school
administration. The administration had to give us the mandate to conduct our research since
we represented the school and therefore it was proper that they were involved. The second
stakeholder was our lecturer who was our project supervisor. The supervisor’s leading role
was to gives us directions on how to conduct the project in the right manner. Thirdly, the
healthcare facilities and their respective administrations were the other stakeholders as we
