INTRODUCTION
On the workplace, team working plays a very crucial role through which employees can
easily accomplish assignments and improve company's productivity and profitability. The
mentioned aspect is a process of working collaboratively with a group of individual for
attainment of objective (Acker, 2012). With assistance of this aspect, all employees can easily
develop healthy relationship and maintain effective working environment. In addition to this
team working aids in increasing entire growth of business as well as quality of performance. The
following project has defined importance of team working in the organisation and also provided
the depth knowledge about team dynamics at workplace.
Main Body
AC 3.1 Observation about team working in the organisation as a new employees
Team working is very important and crucial aspect for every business organisation
because it is a way through which employees get together and work together in order to attain a
specific target or assignment. It is a best way to develop healthy relationship and working
environment at the workplace. In a general sense, it can be said that team working is a process
under which group of people work together cohesively with intension to achieve desired goal. In
this manner, various kinds of new idea, innovative suggestions and creativity arises by different
team members through which their working quality can also increase.
As per the given scenario, as a new member in the Hilton hotel, I have observed various
roles of different team members. The company has main objective is to deliver high quality of
services to customers and attain the highest profitability. I have just recent joined the corporation
as a new staff and I have seen different kinds of roles of team member but all they have one
common objective which is organisation objective. All team member have various roles and
responsibility but their main objective is to attain the determined target. Following are various
kinds of role I have observed in the Hilton hotel- Shaper role- Shaper kind of person in a team are very concious on taking positive
actions. Usually they are extroverts and they have effective interpersonal communication
skill through which they inspire and motivate other team member in a team (Schwantes
and Rivera, 2017). I have observed that shaper type of people in a team very concious
about their work and have positive attitude toward organisation. They not only concious

about their task but also motivate another team member by their impressive
communication skill. Implementer Role- This kind of people are very practical, efficient and well organised.
They always try to find some innovative team's idea and thoughts and implement into
actual plan. I have observed that in the Hilton hotel, in order to achieve determined
objective, implementer type of people always try to find innovative things and idea and
implement in the process of business. Completer/Finisher role- I have observed that finisher kind of person in a team is task
oriented who always focus their attention in organising meeting and keeping the team on
schedule. Team worker Role- Team worker kind of person are those who resolve conflicts or issue
in the team. I have observed in the team that team worker kind of person concious in
developing that strategy and action through which they can easily resolve team issue and
conflicts. Resource investigator role- I have observed in a team that resource investigator are those
players who can able to find appropriate information and data to take decision related to
team working. This kind of person are very efficient at networking with other teams and
organisation (Ruiz-Casado and et.al. 2017)
Plant- I have observed in a team that plants kind of individual are those who develop new
ideas and render unique solution to problem in a team. I have observed that plant are
innovative members of the team who provide innovative solution in order to resolve
problem.
As per the above discussion it has been ascertained that there are various kinds of roles of team
members in team but all of them have common objective to attain the determined goal of Hilton
hotel.
AC 3.2 Team Dynamics
Team dynamics are those forces and attributes which influence team performance.
Generally it is the behavioural relationship between members of a group that are assigned
connected tasks within an organisation. It develops by the nature of the team's work, their inter
relationships with other people, their personality and the environment where team are working.

As per the given scenario, being a team leader in the Hilton hotel, I have various roles and
responsibility toward my team as well as team member. Being a leader in Hilton hotel my skill,
ability and knowledge can largely influence the working criteria of team member and my
inspirational skill can motivate them for higher productivity.
As per the Kurt Lewin, group dynamic refers to a system of behaviour and psychological
processes occurring within a social group or between social group. In the Hilton hotel, as a team
leader I have observed that various kinds of member have different types of behaviour, ability,
skill, knowledge and efficiency. This dynamic assists in developing innovative idea and
creativity in the process of working because different people gives their different thoughts and
suggestion. The major benefit of this thing ion a team is that organisation can easily find the best
solution of problem because team leader can easily collect various alternative solution from
different team members. I have also observed team dynamic during the induction period which
can define by several stages- Forming-In this stage, all team member came together and try to understand each other
behaviour, nature, thoughts and style. In this stage I have observed that members was
easily shared their thoughts with each other and try to cope up with changing
environment. This thing was very great for the Hilton hotel objective because all member
easily able to take and understand each other in this stage. Storming- In this second stage during induction in the Hilton hotel, as a team leader I
have observed that all team member tried to become more familiar with each other by
sharing their opinion and suggestion related to team conflicts and attainment of
determined objective. Norming- In this stage, I have observed that all team member tried to understand the
principles of team, regulation, mission, vision, strategy, and objective of team. In this
stage, members begin to take greater responsibility for their own group.
Performing- In this final stage, I have observed that all team member finally ready to
perform roles and responsibility toward company in order to attain objective. I have also
observed that team member implement their different efficiency, knowledge and skills to
attain the goal. All of them used various creativity, innovative idea and views to solve the
issue and conflicts in a team (Sacks and Iliopoulou,2017)

As per the above discussion about the team dynamics it has been ascertained that there are
various behaviour, skill and nature of team member through which team dynamic arisen in the
team. But it has also analysed from the induction period to team development that smoothly all
team member has settled with their skill and different view. They have easily exchanged their
thoughts, information and opinion to attain the objective. In this manner team dynamic helped in
developing effective relationship and healthy working environment at workplace.
AC3.3 Suggestions
Being a team leader in a Hilton hotel, I have observed that various people in a team have
different kind of responsibility, skill, characteristics, behaviour , nature and perception. By using
these all diversity in the nature of individual, I have developed effective team at workplace
which assisted organisation in attaining its determined target within a time period. There are
several, suggestion through which team member can perform more efficient in a team and attain
target in more effective manner. These suggestions are as follows- Open communication- This is the best way through which team member can achieve
target of the organisation in an effective manner. In this, team member should share their
view, suggestion, idea, thoughts, conflicts and issue with each other as well as team
leader so as they can easily find the best alternative solution of problem (Agarwal and
et.al., 2012). In addition to this, by sharing idea and information, team member can also
increase their knowledge and efficiency working. This will aid in attaining company's
objective in more effective way
Self monitoring- Each team member in a team should analyse their self while they
perform in a team so as they can easily identify their weakness and area of improvement
(Latif, 2017). It is most impressive way for attaining the objective of team in an effective
manner because when team member analyse their own efficiency then they can easily
improve their working criteria.
