Introduction
While working in groups can sometimes prove effective, but many organizations have viewed
that through teaming, they have achieved less success than what was expected. This paper will
illustrate one challenge and one benefit that arises while working in teams.
One challenge of using teaming
Lack of effective communication:
The communication among the members of the team is often difficult. This can be true for the
teams who do not have too much experience in working together in the past. Feedback, overall
objectives, and tasks assigned can be misinterpreted. This would result in loss of intended
message which will lead to a different outcome from the ones planned before. Thus, poor
communication could result into conflict and tension that leads to reduced profits, low morale,
and lack of teamwork as well as poor performance of the workers (Knapp, Weber &
Moellenkamp, 2017). Lack of effective communication within the team can create uncertainty,
keep the members less informed and there can be a lack of needed support.
One benefit of using teaming
Greater Experience:
Members of a team put forward their accomplishments and individual experience to the team.
The accumulation of the total of both professional and personal experiences of the groups adds
far more value to the team's work than the background of any particular individual could. This
benefit essentially enhances depth to the ideas that the group generates and assists in creating a
more effective work flow (Volkov & Volkov, 2015). The organizations those who are hoping to
get a limited number of employees can choose to implement principles of teambuilding while
selecting its workers. The owner could hire a talented workforce when it selects employees with
selected skills like bookkeeping, even when particular employees do not have a formalized job or
an assigned title in the business.
