Teamwork is popular in an organisation as with help of it
the work can be done with efficiency and more
productivity can be generated by it. Reports talk about
teamwork and its advantage of disadvantage. It benefits
both firm and the employee as employee will learn to

done in time with the help of teamwork.

Advantages
Improve productivity: Teamwork helps in improving the

Lack of competence: Taking example of Standard
chartered bank employee feel they have less skills
than their teammates. The bank give all of them
target and if someone is doing it and someone is
lacking, it bring doubts on later mind. Employee
suffer because of this as it reduce their confidence
and raises doubts on the capability they once had.
Company will also suffer as they don’t want there
employee to be unproductive and this doubts may
lead to unproductive employee.

Advantage
Improve Creativity: The individual can be creative in a
team and good teamwork will promote creativity which
means new ideas and suggestion. It will help the employee
to get interest in the work as they are getting liberty to
think out of the box. The benefit to firm is that they will get
new sets of idea and they can choose a suitable one for
them. It can help the company to get competitive
advantage. Hilton staff is given the opportunity to bring
new idea to the management.

Lack of coordination or clashes: Teamwork may
result in difference in opinion. It may bring clashes
between the employees. Coordination between the team
can also hamper work progress. It will affect the team
as well as the manager, as they will be not able to finish
targets on time. Nestle a huge company faces lack of
coordination between team as the structure is huge. The
clashes are also their as each employee want to get
recognised and in a large enterprise it can be a reason
of problem.

From above presentation it can be said that
teamwork is important as it helps in increasing
productivity and improving creativity of
employees but at the same time if it is not
conducted properly it may result in lack of
competence and coordination. Advantage
obviously overweight disadvantage, all the
company need to do is to handle, direct and
motivate team properly to achieve goals. So it can
be concluded that teamwork should be given
preference over individual work.
