There are different types of teams in business organizations that perform different functions and
roles and contribute their efforts in achieving the organizational objectives. Following are given
below the brief explanation of some teams and their benefits for an organization:
Formal teams: The formal team is formed for some specific reason and some specific role is
given to each individual within a team. For example, there are different types of formal teams
within the Tesco organization such as human resource, marketing, distribution and customer
service teams. All these formal teams perform their assigned roles and responsibilities to achieve
the desired organizational goals (Plouffe et.al, 2016).

the formal team within the organization. All the team members in the informal team are equal
and perform same roles and responsibilities. Also these teams have not specific leader so there is
no coordination among team members. For example, informal teams in the Tesco conduct social
events and conduct irregular meetings during the break times.
Permanent teams: Permanent teams in the Tesco are those teams that are working continuously
in the organization for long-term. These teams in the organization are working on the permanent
basis and will not dissolve on the accomplishment of the specific tasks. For example, the
administration team within the Tesco work on permanent basis continuously for conducting the
business functions and operations (Tripathy, 2018).
Temporary teams: These teams in the Tesco are not long lasting and are formed for short period
of time for accomplishment of the particular task and achieving the objective. And these teams
are split up after the completion of the particular task and achievement of the objective. For
example, these teams are formed in the Tesco for temporary basis for completing the particular
task such as event organizer team for launching and promoting the new product into the market.
Different size team: These teams are different in size and the size of these teams is depend and
changes as per the task that they need to be completed (Tripathy, 2018). For example, these
