INTRODUCTION
In a life of workplace, team working is highly responsive and focused for completion of
any defined goals and targets of self or business entity. Group dynamics is majorly a part of team
working which plays a fluent role in bringing role of team group in an effective manner. Into this
add-on, skills such as communication, leadership and work based are highly required in this level
of context (Bennett and et. al., 2012). This report will be carry on self real life experience while
working in Starbucks, which is a leading coffee and food beverage brand serving to their
customer's with full of heart. This report will speak over in perspective of employer and major
discussion will be highlight over theories of group dynamics or team working. Lastly, report will
also reveals over how well employer's or any leader communicates or several relevant
improvements into the workplace.
MAIN BODY
Literature review:
According to the Jaynes Thompson, (2019), team working has evolved performance of a
business entity at an optimised level of working and this has made business entity to work with
clear and productive efforts to accomplish combined goals or targets for given period of time.
Various valuable research also done in this context, which has revealed that how effective team
working has made business groups to work with proper and collaborative efforts for longer time
or duration.
Discussion and understanding of the concepts:
In current business context, effective team working is necessary for both employer's and
employee's to accomplish their defined goals & targets with strategic planning. Productive team
working or communication is helpful for business entities to maintain positive work environment
to continue with group based working at a potential stage of time (Sacks and et. al., 2015). In
addition to this, usage of an effective communication is co-operative to maintain work based
decorum into business firm and with employer's to have productive level of work based
performance.
Team is made up of level of different person's such as hard-working, dedicated, active
and creative thinking, which used to be sum up to made effective team or group for working at

an optimised level. In Starbucks, I was mainly worked in role of manager and leader with
defined team group of 8 different nature or competencies of a employees. In this, major
challenge was to handle team with different status and behaviour of an employee's in order to
maintain work continuity for longer period of time (Brownie, 2012). Team member's were not
have one way of communication and major noticed point was gaps in process of communication
to enhance work based regulation at a greater point of time. As per real experience, this was
realised skills related to communication, interaction etc., was major issue in team working, no
entirely in personal context of an employer's.
In response to this, it is clearly observed that a team with member's are also constituent as
one single entity with their own vision, mission and strategic objectives. Also, team has its own
vision, mission and desired goals stated before making of as such. In real life experiences, my
team was comes up with vision of group efforts and productive co-operation in future, that was
become slogan for team. Afterwards, my role was changed and also team was changed, but their
was something which was negative as first lack of communication with team, in which gap was
found related to build one to one communication or interaction with other team members to work
along and collectively. Skill development was opportunity realised in that context and team
working was major issue, which needs a major solution in given period of time. It was realised
that team working is necessary for business entity to enhance their work performance and with
collaborative efforts or work based priorities. In my real life experience, major realisation has
been comes in process of making effective team working with development of skills that mainly
to be put in team working to make it effective for longer functioning in the Starbucks.
FINDINGS:
After my real life experience, what I was found lack of control over team working and
also performance, due to communication problem or inefficiency around a team. From here,
scope for adaptation of strategies to make effective team working and group dynamics will also
be considered. In this workplace, manager's and leader's also used to communicating through use
of electronic equipments, in simple there was no personal and face to face communication with
team group (Kyllonen, 2013). In results of, this is led break down of employer and team group's
vision, mission and strategic objective at an optimised stage of working. In Starbucks, role of
employers such as team leader or manager needs to have removal of major barrier's in context of
managing and also improving team working at an optimised stage of working.

Analysis of theories:
In order to make effective team working in workplace such as Starbucks, this will be
highly prominent to use theories in context of this group dynamics, effective team working and
building communication which is necessary to raise consistency in accomplishment of group
based goals or objective in given period of time (Ajala, 2012). To overcome problem out of my
real life level of experience, theories related to group dynamics, team working and
communication will be used to make performance of team on a greater and productive way. Step
by step discussion over theory for these three are as follows:
Group dynamics: In this, highly prominent to discuss dynamics of team working such as
level of awareness, co-operation, co-ordination and conflicts which in reality contributes to team
working at a greater and highly productive manner. For this “The tuck-man theory” will be used,
which is structured in four different level or phases to be accomplished for longer period of time.
The major discussion over Tuck man theory is as follows:
Forming: Higher level of independence on leader for effective guidance and direction. It
is a stepping process for bringing roles and responsibilities in the reality for an effective and also
productive growth for team working. In this, leader must be prepared to answer lots of questions
about a team purpose, objectives and external relation-ship. In this, member's needs to test level
of tolerance or patiences. For this situational leadership will be used to build team group at an
effective stage of working.
Storming: This stage says that effective decisions don't come within group easily. Clarity
of the purpose is required to remove level of uncertainties from a group level of working. This
phase clearly says that team group majorly needs to be focused on its higher goals to led avoid
distraction in relationship and preventing of emotional issues (Garon, 2012). During this process,
it is necessary to led comprises with progress and performance of team group to raise business
sustainability and also performance of the team working at an optimised stage.
Norming: In this phase, agreement and consensus are largely forms among team, which
respond well for facilitation by a leader. In this phase, roles & responsibilities are required to b
clear and accepted. Also, decision are used to be made on group level of agreements. To build
group dynamics, smaller decision must be delegated to an individuals or smaller level of teams
within a stage of groups. Also, commitment and unity among team member's needs to be strong
and powerful to handle team level conflicts in an ease and also highly developed ways. With role

of defined roles, this is beneficial for team member to self engaged in fun and activities to raise
their confidence and motivation level to enhance work based outcomes for team working of this
leading coffee brand (Carnevale and Smith, 2013). Also, team develop its major processes and
working style. Through this stage, leader's must facilitates and also enables process of major
participation in team working in an effective or productive manner.
Sources: The tuck-man theory, 2018
Performing: In this, team needs to develop its strategically aware, what is going in team
working and also needs to be done in order to enhance performance of team working in a large
productive way. In this phase, team must share their vision or each and every team member's
must contributes their efforts in building combined vision at a greater and optimised stage. Also,
major focus must be on achieving goals and entire team group must takes decisions on a zone of
productive or effective way of doing (Robles, 2012). In this, team must have high level of
autonomy to led entire team to identify and focus on high level of group dynamics to assist in
accomplishment of group goals and targets.

Belbin theory of team roles:
When structuring any team, this is recommendable to first understand and analyse nine
different roles of the team working, which is highly active to build an effective team group.
These roles are necessary to be discussed in order to enhance work relationship at a optimised
context. For structuring a perfect example for team for workplace like Starbucks, nine roles of
team working is a major and productive deal (Marshall, 2015). On these roles of Belbin theory,
discussion is as follows:
Team worker: This person helps a team to get using their major versatility to identify
the work required and also led its completion on behalf of the team,
Co-ordinator: In every team group, there must be co-ordinator who focus on
completing team based goals or objectives and also must delegate work accordingly.
Specialist: This person brings in-depth knowledge of a key area to a team,
Monitor evaluator: In every team working, this role follower provides its major eye on
making impartial judgements, when ever required and weigh upon defined team or groups. The
major strength of this role is being act as sober, worked into strategical way.
Implementer: This role is responsible to plan a workable strategy and also carry out it in
effective or prominent manner. The major strength of this role is being act as practical, reliable,
efficient and also it turns idea into effective action planning for given period of time.
Finisher: This role is highly responsible to end task or work with measures to achieve
defined goals or tasks in an efficient manner. In this quality of doing work is necessary and also
done with defined standards.
These roles are needs to be considered in order to make defined goals or objectives being
accomplished defined roles or responsibilities at an optimised stage.
Improvement of workplace communication and performance
In workplace like Starbucks, this is prominent to generate ruling of the leadership in
workplace to led team's work in a productive or effective manner. For this, role of leadership
approach such as democratic leadership is best option, in which focus in majorly on motivating
each and every member's to share their opinion or views to continue activities of team working
and must led dilute major burden of employer's (Cardon, 2018). In this social learning style is
high prominent in which learning is used to be based on social learning. In Starbucks, this will
assist team working of Starbucks at a greater or optimised performance stage. Also, employer
