INTRODUCTION
Communication is that kind of act which helps in conveying information within an organization
and among its higher officials. A communication takes place with the help of sings and language
used in an organization. Nature of communication is related to relationships between employees
and employer because it becomes easy to pass on information. This skill is very important as it
gives motivation to employee in an entity to perform task with more efficiency. Scope of
communication is very dynamic because it gives an platform which help in boosting growth of
an organization. University of Welsh is an UK based university set-up in Wales. It contains 8
university under it. In this essay a senarior is given based upon it ceratin questions are required to
be answered. Then practical portfolio of class exercise is going to be explained based upon
communication skills and its various aspects.
TASK
Practical portfolio for class exercise based on communication and how it is done
Communication is one of the most important tool which helps in circulation of an information
within an organization or university. This acts as a basic element at that point of time when an
emergency has arisen. It is one of the basic needs for an human being. Communication is
considered to be exchanging of ideas, information and messages through appropriate source.
Skills of such kind also include body-language, speaking and writing skills. Various ways are
there which gave rise to communication like interaction, motivation, willingness and confidence.
Communication can be of various types which are Verbal, non verbal, written and visual. In
verbal communication language is used as a medium to transfer information by way of speaking
or using sing language (Ahmed, 2019). This is one of the most commonly used techniques for
communication. This type of communication can be developed by strong, confident voice.
Becoming an active listener which means developing tendency to first hear and then speak.
Another thing can be done to achieve verbal communication is avoid using of filler this means
that less short forms should be used because it destroy decorum while communicating. Under
nonverbal communication mostly body language and signs are used for conveying of particular
information. Gestures can be used for showing an emotion. This is can be done by noticing that
how a person in verbal communication conveys his feelings, intention of nonverbal
communication must be clear, sings used are required to be learned. Such kind of communication
is very important for people who cannot speak. Then come written form of communication in
which information can be given through writing and typing. It is helpful in keeping record of
information circulated. Steps involved to boost this communication is simplicity which means
that such communication should be simple and effective enough to explain information. Also
words used should be chosen very carefully because one wrong word can lead to passing of
wrong information. Communication can be done using various medium these mediums can be
direct and indirect both. An communication needs to be effective which results into building of

progress and efficiency in workplace. Some ways through which effective communication can be
done are ‘Open Meeting’ this is one of the easiest forms of communication and is done in the
form of meeting. Under this type of approach information is spread through making persons
listen about what a person has to say. Then come ‘Emails’ in which information is transferred
through messaging it to mail id of a person. ‘One on One’ which means having conversation
with every single person individually (Carter. and et. al., 2016). This is used when a reason for
taking holiday needs to be explained individual. In this major role is played by eye contact to
enable message to sink in. Another way to communicate is through receptive atmosphere which
means that no negative energy should be there which can be problematic in conveying of
information. Communication can also be done through training which means that at the time of
training proper information has to be given about company and all important things related to it
which helps an employee to analyze work pattern that has been existing in a company from very
long time. Tone of voice also matters for communicating of information as it is important to use
right column or else difference can lead to passing of information in wrong manner. Mumbling
communications should be fluent and mumbling creates a barrier can lead to not proper
accomplishment of task. As communication is an very important part for having communication
which can be achieved by being appreciative. All this is achieved through team work and
dedication. Other ways of having good communication is through listening to team mates, using
of proper body language, using of visuals, acting out the message, using presentation, be
humorous, being articulate, encouraging of feedback, using simple vocabulary, confidence and
seriousness. All this is going to be used by welsh college for making its students smarter and
intelligent. This is also going to increase quality of work in there academic year. Due to this
studying is going to become easy and faster. As students are going to be able to understand
better. Out of this most effective form of communication for Welsh college is going to be open
meeting in which all students are collected at one place and information is conveyed to them.
Case Scenario
Now a scenario is given which is as follows, a professor who is well- known for his English at
Welsh University lived in a large house that was not far away from the village. In other words
village is near by, though he never visited the village during all this time. He use to shop from
market from a town near the University. As he did not had anything in common with village
people and all of them were uneducated. They all were doing only manual jobs. At one night
professor fell asleep keeping hiss pipe in his mouth which fell on the carpet of his house. Due to
this his house caught fire and as professor woke up from his sleep. After getting up he ran into
the village and shouted for help and used a sentence “the edifice is being consumed by great
conflagration” (Cooke, 2016). Village persons noticed him but did not understood what he was
saying and continued doing there work. Next morning he saw his house being burnt completely
and got destroyed and he was weeping. Next day he went to village and crying in front of them,
he asked them why did not they come for his help last night. As he was asking for help. They
replied that “But professor why you did not say your house was on fire? We would have helped.

Why villagers didn’t help the professor
As it is clear from the scenario that professor was shouting for help but the villagers were
not able to understand whatever he was saying. Also it has been mentioned that villagers are not
educated that is why they were not able to help the professor. So, it is clear that lack of
communication has lead towards this problem because if communication would have been there
then village people would have been educated by him which could have ,made it easy for him to
communicate his words to them. Two things which come out is lack of communication and
education. Communication is most important skill because it helps in building of strong
relationships and also feelings are conveyed in effectively easy manner. If communication would
have been existed then village people would have understood what professor is trying to say or if
professor would have used simple English. Then also people of village would have been able to
help him out as the end statement tells of this scenario.
Q2 What should have been done to get help to him
As the scenario tells that villagers noticed him but kept on doing their work which means
that, they never tried to ask him what happened and why he was shouting like this. Villagers also
did not take any initiative to understand the matter that is occurring. In this communication has
not been done effectively by the villagers which leaded to accordance of this situation. If timely
communication would have been improved by using other method to convey it then situation
could have been really different. It is very necessary to use appropriate words and simplest form
to deliver your feelings in the form of communication. So it is clear that main problem occurred
because of lack of using of simple words (Itani. and Srour, 2016).
Q3 Whose model of communication is going to be explained in this situation
Methods of communication are very important in order to get communication done. So,
certain models are their which has been given by lot of professors which help companies and
other kind of organization to explore efficiency in working. Five types of models are present
which helps in making communication easier. They are linear model under this model one way
form of communication is used which is important to communicate information to mass public.
No feedback is required and concept of noise exist. This is helpful for audience persuation and
propaganda setting, intentional or desired result can be generated from it. Communication is not
continuous which make it really difficult to have smooth communication. There is also no way to
make out that whether communication has been done effectively or not. In other words this can
be understood as no medium id there to tell whether information has been given in proper
manner and to all the persons or not. In this model a message is flowed through a straight line
from the sender to the person he wants it to receive. Also concept of feedback is not there which
makes it quite difficult to make message received. Only work receiver has to do is to receive the
message. As per me this model could have been effective for saving house of professor in a
manner that urgently help is required at that point of time. This help could have been asked by
using symbol under this model. Villagers would have responded immediately over it and
Professor would not have lost his house (Körner. and et. al., 2016).

CONCLUSION
From the above file the concept communication is clear which means transferring of
information from one person to another. Communication could have taken place through various
ways like confidence, using of simple words and effectively, making people understand through
presentation. A scenario has been give in which lack of communication has resulted in problem
which has been explained through it and also model has been used to show impact of solving the
problem.
