Working in a team is a little more complex than working individually. For the past few months, I
have been working as a team manager in the construction industry. The team working requires
the skills like good communication with other team members and the team leader, good listening
skills to know about the ideas of team members and the leader (The balance career, 2018). In
starting, when I was a new team member, I had faced issues in communicating with the team
members and my boss because I don’t have that much confidence in me to talk to my senior and
interact with them. I seek opportunity to interact with the unknown people as it provide me
confidence and improves my communication skills but here, in a team, I was lacking behind in it
because of hesitation that how they will react to me and my ideas. I also love to work in a team
because teamwork help in building a large stock of different and unique ideas of the team
members and these ideas will help in the invention of new solutions to a problem. When for the
first time, I shared my ideas regarding the problem going on the site, the reaction of my team
members and my boss was surprising as I haven't interacted much with them from starting. Like
other team members, I also had some responsibilities which I had to fulfill as a team member
(Youth employment, 2019). When I was working individually, I was able to manage my time
and I loved to work according to the deadlines because all I have to focus on was me. But in a
team, there was sharing of every work, responsibilities with everyone so I had to set coordination
with others which were difficult for me in starting but after a period, I started loving to do work
in sharing. I also felt some difficulty in representing myself in from of others as I was so
confined about sharing my thoughts with the team members. I had given the ideas in the team
regarding the issue of labor wages that the labors were working for overtime and they were not
getting paid for it so they are thinking about leaving their job. For this, I had given the idea for
the solution to it. Initially, my boss and team members were not agreeing on the solution which I
had provided. Then I convinced them to think about the suggestion I provided. Then after
analysing the situation and the solution provided by me, finally my idea was implemented for the
problem. When I was in the team, I also come to know about the various problems originated in
the team. Some problems were lack of trust between the team members in the starting and the
thinking level of the people. The problem of trust was because every team member was new in
the team and all were strangers to each other and the thinking level of every person was different
because most of the people are from the different area in which they are experts (Engagedly,
2017).

While giving the presentation about the elevator pitch in the class, I haven't faced the issue in
delivering information about myself because as I was a team member and I was having the
experience of communicating in front of a group (Indeed, 2019). So, working in a team improved
my skills regarding my presentation and communication with others. Before the team working, I
always stammered while delivering any message or idea in the classroom because I don't have
that level of confidence but now after becoming a team member and knowing about the methods
of communication and presentation, everything was fine with me in it.
