Introduction
In our childhood, we often hear from our elders about working in together being or in
better words teamwork, so here in now, this project is about to discuss and trace about
the inner description or meaning about the word teams in respect with a general
framework. The framework is nothing but the base of every big tree. In other words,
designed to support is holds the whole phenomenon intact. For example, if a strong and
big infrastructure is taking place then the first thing which needs to be secure, strong as
well as perfect is its blueprint and the planning of the whole system. From tip to toe it
needs to be perfect in order to stay in the stronghold, that root is called its framing.
Team’s general framework is basically nothing but working in a team order to get the
objective and its motive done. This project will put light on the way of working, the
physical structure, origins, and theories of TEAMS GENERAL FRAMEWORK.
Origin of teamwork
Study
In present days, the concept of team building is widely accepted by every organization,
whether it is small or big. On the other hands, it could be observed that the background
of this did not know to all in brief. Firstly, the concept of teamwork has been formed than
the working process started related to the concept. Elton Mayo was a theorist related to
the organization. The work of Mayo basically related to the experiments of the behavior
of employees within a society. However, in between 1924 to 1932, an experiment is
conducted by Mayo in a factory named as “Western Electric Factory” situated at Illinois.
This factory is also known as Hawthrone works. The subject of this experiment of Mayo
is related to the observation of the level of manipulation within the working environment
of light. For this experiment, the number of groups divided into two groups. The intensity
of light was increased for the first group while the second group was working under the
same circumstances. (hrreview.co.uk, 2019)
After a certain period of time, it had come under the observation that the productivity
level increased under the first group and the performance level of the second group was

the same as before. After this, some other variables were added for the first group. It
could be observed that the working hours of the first group have been reduced and the
number of breaks has been increased. However, the productivity level of the first group
is increased. Suddenly, an odd thing happened, the thing was a decrement in the
productivity level. [Referred to appendix 1]
Effect
It was stated by Mayo by the analyses of the data that the result was not the direct
effect of those variables. Rather, the increment in the productivity level could be the
experimental effect. The improvement in the production could because of the interest of
the managers of that group and the efforts of the employees. Apart from this,
productivity increment could be the result of a break in the daily routine of the
employees. This changing combination is also known as the effect of Hawthrone
(Bratton and Gold, 2017).
Implications related to team building
After this, one more experiment was done related to this concept of team building. In
this experiment, a group selected for two females. However, these two females selected
another female. The same variables applied to these team, that decreases the working
hours and increase the breaks. The same result as the first experiment was observed in
this experiment. The level of productivity firstly increased and then decreased, under the
performance of the first group (Salmon et al. 2017). However, the performance of the
employees was measured by telephonic relay.
Features of teamwork
It could be noted that the success of an organization depends on the effectiveness of
teamwork. However, the formation of the team is important for every organization
whether it's a "Fortune 500" or “baseball team”. The main chemistry is related to the
greatness of teamwork. It could be noted that the most important of teamwork is related
to every organization. The performance of teamwork is related to the growth of an
organization. It could be observed that in teamwork, the members of teamwork closely

and the task completed comparatively at less time period than other. A team could also
be known as a group of selected skilled peoples for the determination of a particular
goal. (wikijob.co.uk, 2019)
Clear direction
Most of the time it could observe that the organizations are in a hurry to complete a
project and for this process of pulling people under the same group has been done.
However, in this process, the organization forgets to determine the desired outcomes
and organizational goals. For this reason, it became necessary to first decide the
desired outcomes and goals of the organization. The role of clear directions is very
important for the successful achievements of desired outcomes and organizational
goals (Boon et al. 2016).
Honest and open communication
It could be noted that chemistry and communications are closely related to each other.
The effectiveness of communication decides the team performance of any team. Clarity
of concept is possible only after open communication. On the other hands, the
effectiveness of the team is also determined by the communication manner. It could
observe every organization in this modern world mostly promote collaboration and
communication tools.

Support change and risk taking
It could be observed that a team always support the changing process and take risks for
the achievements of organizational goals.
Mutual accountability
Responsibilities related to a work equally divided into the members of a team. No team
member ever passes any judgmental comments for any organizational failure or
mistakes.
Free communication
As per the researches of MIT’s HDL (Human Dynamic Laboratory), shows the
effectiveness of communication skills. More than communication the most important
term is free communication. Among the team members of a group or team, the role of
free communication played a vital role (Bell et al. 2018).

Encourages opinion of team members
According to the conducted study, it became clear that the opinion of each team
member is important for the achievement of organizational goals. All the team members
pay equal attention to the opinion of every team members
Common goal
One of the features of teamwork is related to a common goal. However, the team
members could have different skills, different opinions but a common goal for everyone.
Team trust
Achievement of organization goal also depends on the belief power of the team
members related to each other. However, it could be noted that effective teamwork
always focuses on solving organizational problems (Pinto et al. 2017). Trust is one of
the dimensions of communication pillar
Collaboration
It could be observed that the concept of close collaboration could be shared by any
successful team. The collaboration factor does not link with any particular company.
The team could be “Jordan Pippen or Apple”. More collaboration promotes more
communication.
Tuckman’s stages related to the role of a leader
Tuckman’s theory of team is divided into 5 different parts related to the management of
a team. However, in this part, this theory is related to the role of leader, with respect to
managing a team. Bruce Truckman was a psychologist who introduced the steps of
development for small groups in the year 1965. This concept of Tuckman included 5
different steps. Those 5 steps are forming, norming, storming, adjourning and
performing. However, the discussion related to these factors have discussed below:
Forming

In the mentioned stage, the members of a team are carrying a polite and positive
nature. The time duration of this part is last up to introduction and start of the work. At
this point in time, the job responsibilities and roles are not clear. So as a leader, at this
time, the leader should communicate with his team members and find out the point of
interest of the team members.

Storming
This is the crucial stage for an organization. Generally, these steps start after the
conflict arises between team members. The reason behind this conflict is the difference
in working approach. Every leader faces this situation most of the time at their working
period. At this situation, the role of a leader is to manage the conflict and reduce tension
among team members. The attraction of the team leads towards the organizational
goals and present the situation with proper examples.

Adjourning

This could be the stage where the situation where the team comes under its normal
activity towards achieving its organizational goal. This is the point where the role of a
leader comes under the consideration of its team members. As a result, the members of
a team start respecting its leader. The role of a leader at this point is to encourage the
performance of its team members (Kolyperas et al. 2016).
Performing
After the norming stage, the next level is related to the performance of the team. This is
the stage where a team member shows their skill and dedication towards the
achievement of organizational goal or target.
Adjourning
Most of the teams hardly reach the stage of adjourning. It could be noted that
sometimes some team members allocated only for one project but permanent team
members could relocate through the process of organizational restructuring.. [Referred
to appendix 2]
Insights of the study from “managerial decision making” to “decision making in
team”
Strategies related to decision making could be a critical dimension of business activity
and mostly preferable concept in business studies. As per the study, it could be
observed that decision-making process could lead to the achievement of organizational
goal. For example, insurance providers recruit 100 leaders for a better decision-making
the process. For this, a platform is adopting new decision framework of different
leaders. All these decisions of these leaders are related to the strategies of real-life
decisions. (open.ac.uk, 2019)
Creating friction
This part is related to the difficulties arises due to the decision-making process.
However, different management tools mentioned solving these difficulties. It could be
observed that independent human being used a collective purpose in a complex and

fast-changing environment for the achievement of its fundamental goal. Every aspect of
the decision-making process could affect the nature of the individual up to a certain
extent (Costa et al. 2015).
Clarifying responsibilities and roles
Responsibilities and roles related to the concept of decision making played a vital role
that could affect the process of decision making. It could be observed that every person
has its own responsibilities and roles related to a project. Within an organization, the
process of the managerial decision could affect the responsibilities of organizational
personnel. As an individual, a leader has different responsibilities in two different
aspects.
Own “your role”
The most important aspect is related to the discussion and debates related to decision
making. As per the study, it becomes clear that high clarity in the role could promote
organizational friction. The reason behind this is the execution and accountability
strategy related to decision making.

Examples of physical structure facilitate teamwork
Teamwork is nothing but a process so that a group of peoples who are working on the
same page of an organization or a business to meet their similar or common
destination. The motive of the members or the group of peoples is to meet and
accomplish their common objective in order to raise the standard of their organization.
The basic motive is to get a focus on the performance and the standard of their
products. In this world full of commuting organization it is that really necessary to get in
light and focus among thousands of competitor, the better the management works
together the best outputs will be emerged out form their hands. One of the essential
structures of teamwork is to create a smooth environment among the mates or the
peoples in a team within an organization (Schouten et al. 2016). Often we have seen in
our day to day commuting life where the leaders or the upper management try to grow
upon the peoples working under them, where a dominating behavior is always taking
place.
However it is really that important to create harmony and a good sequence between the
leaders and their teams to work together rather pressurizing them, as it really grows a
strong and tacked bond between them. Flexibility is really important for a team to work
in the same motion in order to maintain the maximum points to cover of their objective
and by communicating together it also allows them to reach to a different direction at the
same time. The third one comes about solving the problems which occur within
workings (Hu et al. 2015). As it is really common for all of us to understand that if a
single person can make a work done within thirty minutes then it will be obviously
possible of a group of peoples to get it done within few minutes. The same goes for the
resolving of any issue also, a group of people will be able to solve any issue that is
taking place within them and also encourage the team to do their work more
appropriately.
