INTRODUCTION
Research inquiry is about analysing the effect of team work practices on the performance
level of retail organisation. The main objective of the report is to investigate into the team work
practices of Sainsbury’s Sydenham London. The research hypothesis is based on evaluating the
benefits of team work practices in increasing the performance level of organisation. Team work
in any company assists in increasing the productivity as well as operational efficiency of firm.
This topic is of utmost important as it helps company in achieving set target and objectives. It
also assists in enhancing productivity and also it helps firm in achieving the strategic objectives.
My contribution in this research is that I have been able to enhance the team working practices in
company by implementing the primary research. Main findings in this report is that team
working assists an organisation in growing and also their productivity increases. Present report
will lay emphasis on trends which are followed in retail industry. It will also do the analysis of
the organisation.
MAIN BODY
Current Trends in retail
Now a days there are various trends which are been followed by retail organisation. As
stated by Mumford and et.al., (2017) following the latest trends assists Sainsbury’s Sydenham in
achieving their set target as well as mission. It has also been analysed that the current trend
which is followed includes use of business intelligence and automation. In this firm is been
engaged in making use of various business intelligence tools. Sainsbury’s is been engaged in
making use of E-buddy. In this the Hr department of an organisation is attached with employees
and by this they are been able to analyse the issues which are being faced by them. This assists
firm in knowing about the needs and demands of workers. This BI tool also supports them in
attracting potential and talented employees, through better employee referral program. By this
they can recruit effective and talented workers. This also supports Sainsbury’s in enhancing the
trend of team work in the firm.
As per the view of Greenleaf, Klaus and Arensdorf, (2017) due to lockdown, it is difficult
to make whole staff come to workplace, so for this Sainsbury’s is also been engaged in making
use of latest trends. It includes webinars. This is an online tool which is been used to do group
discussion and share useful information through power point presentations and other aspects.
This feature also assists them in working in team. It has also been analysed that during lockdown

period making use of this tool has made work easier and also by this their productivity has been
increased. The other trend which has been utilised by Sainsburry’s including E-Library. In this
all the related information from work is available. Workers can explore this online and can
enhance their knowledge management and key research skills. This can also allow workers in
achieving their set target and mission. This trend has also assisted company in growing and
increasing performance level. The other latest trend which has been opted by retail organisation
is that now they have started making use of online payment system. This is to implement no
contact services so that consumers can be safe. As stated by Saravo, Netzel and Kiesewetter,
(2017) online cash transactions has supported organisation in making sure that safe services are
been given to consumers. This has assisted them in increasing the satisfaction level of employees
during the time of this pandemic period. It has also been analysed that making use of the latest
trend has supported company in gaining competitive advantage. They have also been able to
grow by this. Research has also provided the details that other current trend which has been
followed by Sainsbury’s during the lockdown period is to work in team.
Making use of latest technology has assisted them in better working in team and also by
this their productivity has been increased. This assists them in expanding their business and also
they have been able to increase their potential. By working in teams through virtual modes has
assisted in gaining competitive advantage. It has also been analysed that to be in competition, it
is really necessary for the organisation to make use of latest trends as by this they will be able to
grow and also be able to improve the individual performance level of workers. This can also
assist them in achieving the set target. They will also be able to increase their effectiveness
related to work.
Analysis of the organisation
The primary analysis for identifying the effect of team work practices on the performance
level of company is been done by making use of primary data collection method. In this
questionnaire method was been used. It was been filled by 20 employees of the company. It has
assisted in knowing about how team work has helped firm in growing. The data analysis includes

From the above analysis it has been summarised that there are various effects for working
in team. It has been analysed that team working during these tough times is really necessary and
Sainsbury’s is making use of it. This has assisted them in growing and also because of working
in team organisations productivity has also been increased. It has also been analysed that by
working in teams employees has been able to increase their skills and abilities. Sainsbury’s has
made use of various business intelligence tools and latest trends in order to enhance the team
working during these tough times (Uzohue, Yaya,and Akintayo, 2016). This has assisted firm in
making sure that knowledge areas and research skills of workers is been increased. Working in
team has also enhance the quality of services which is been given by workers, this has assisted

organisation in increasing consumer satisfaction. This has also assisted Sainsbury’s in increasing
the consumer loyalty. Team working has also lower down the absenteeism in company and
increased the efficiency of individual workers in firm. This has assisted them in growing and also
because of this they have been able to get the competitive advantage. It has also been analysed
that team working has also lower down the conflict in organisation. This has lower down the
miss-understanding and also by working together workers is been able to meet out the deadlines
on timely basis. This has also supported employees in working in different and diverse culture.
Sainsbury’s has been able to increase their brand reputation and brand value because of this. It
has been summarised that team working has also assisted company in gaining competitive
advantage. By this they have been able to increase the performance level of individual employee.
Recommendations
It is been suggested to make better use of team working practices so that firm can be able
to grow. In this Sainsbury’s needs to be engaged in making use of better tools and techniques so
that they can enhance their future performance. It has also been evaluated from the research and
recommended to organisation that during the time of novel corona virus period better safety
measures needs to be used by firm. This will assist them in maintaining the well being of
workers (Bickle, 2017). It will also assist Sainsbury’s in retaining workers and they will be able
to achieve the set target and mission. It is also been suggested that company must be engaged in
implementing the better team work policies and practices. This will support organization in
increasing the individual performance of workers and also they will be able to expand their
business. It has also been analysed and suggested that better training can be given to workers so
that they can be able to perform better in organisation. This will assist company in increasing
their productivity as well as they will also be able to increase their return on investment. It also
supports in growing and achieving the set goals and mission. The recommendation is also made
to make use of market research to know about the policies which has been implemented by the
other companies, so that better strategies can be implemented by company. This will assist
organisation in growing and also they will be able to attract more talented and skilled employees
when doing. It has also been analysed that various online channels must be used by Sainsbury’s
so that team working can be increased. It has also been analysed that by working in teams
employees has been able to increase their skills and abilities. They can make group on social

been analysed that company is been able to retain workers by making use of different tools and
techniques for team working. Team working has assisted them in growing and also because of
working in team organisations productivity has also been increased. It has also been analysed
that by working in teams employees has been able to increase their skills and abilities. It has also
been evaluated that by working in team company has been able to lower down situation of
conflict. This has increased the productivity and also firm has been able to grow and achieve
objectives.
