INTRODUCTION
With the increase in globalization competition has raised to a great extent which put
pressure on different individuals to perform well (Vettori, 2012). For same various resources has
been used to raise the scale of communication and variety of modes are used so that the
competitive advantage can be achieved (Ma and et.al., 2013). Reflection is one of the major tool
used to express own experience and views on a particular topic. The following study is a self-
reflection presented in order to show an experience one has on completing a group presentation.
Different hurdles and positive sides faced while working in a team will be discussed in order to
understand the positives and negatives of working in a team.
TASK
As what I have learn during the preparation of presentation is that in order to carry out
different projects, group efforts are required. It is due to the reason that when work is done as a
team it is more effective and of greater use. When work is done by a single person it lacks
innovation as everyone has limited talent with them. Before starting reflecting on my own
performance I would like to put light on those critical activities that were identified while
carrying out preparing the presentation and will hence summarized the whole work done. I had
least idea what I have to do and how to start my work. I prepared a presentation on Samsung
UHD TV and discussed different factors associated with it like the concept of marketing mix, its
target market, how it is doing the segmentation etc. The topic was my own choice and after
completing my work I was satisfied that I chose the right option as it was a good experience
working as a team on the selected topic (Gao and et.al., 2011). I found that each member has
some or the other capabilities which we combined together and used in finishing our task with
high standards. Though every member in my team was cooperative and had enough knowledge
of the subject matter, there were certain issues which were faced to reach at the final results
(Rockloff and et.al., 2011). I found it difficult to divide our task among the group members as it
is the most important requirement to compete the project on time. In order to resolve this
problem, I categories the whole work into small segments and therefore according to the
knowledge of different group members distributed the same among them. It helped me in
deciding time duration to be allotted for each task according to the complexity involved in
different presentation topics.

As everyone was given equal chance to present their idea, it helped me in developing my
exploring and innovative skills. When the data regarding the presentation topic was collected by
different members it was more relevant and useful as division of work helped me in giving more
time to small works which has direct impact on the quality of the overall work done. Each
member played their important role and every one of us get to learn something new from one
another. I found that to work in a team it is important that a person must be patient and has to be
a good listener (Palomäki, Laakasuo and Salmela, 2013). Only if these qualities are there a group
work can be carried out. At the initial stage of work, it was difficult for me to communicate with
the group members as I was not much familiar with them. Every one of us has our own way of
working which makes it difficult to reach at common solutions. It was challenging for me to
convince the team members to follow a common approach in order to reach at results. Everyone
thinks that what they feel is better than what other person is suggesting and hence this leads to
conflicts. It is important that everyone is given with a chance to present their views freely and
show why their idea is better than the other person suggestion.
I develop my understanding of working in a team and learned to respect other persons point
of you. This will further help me in carrying out more group activities in future which is
important for y overall development. As I have got good research skills my contribution was
much in the project to finish the work on time and with good quality. With the help of group
meetings, I delivered these skills to other group members also and helped them in raising their
abilities too (Shamay-Tsoory, 2011). My team members had good communication skills in
comparison to me which further helped us in delivering the presentation to others in an effective
member. It is important that person must have good interacting skills to deliver the presentation
and therefore I choose the best candidate from our group who is best in public speaking show
confidence when facing the audience. As the presentation was completed I felt that if more
resources and time was given than I could have done better work. As the chosen topic had a wide
scope it was necessary that proper time is given so that detail analysis can be done and hence
more appropriate results are provided. Therefore, if I would be given with same work in future I
will ensure that before staring the work proper prioritizing of work is done so that accordingly
time management is done. The sources of information will also be kept limited but effected so
that time is saved and better results are achieved.

CONCLUSION
From the above study this has been summarized that it is difficult task to carry out an
activity in group as it becomes an issue to create a common working surroundings. Group
members need to adjust and cooperate with one another so that conflicts can be avoided and
goals are accomplished. Though working with a team is tough it gives more effective and better
results as different members has distinct capabilities which when joined together create a
valuable output. Lastly it can also be concluded that with the help of reflection a person can
present his views in more detail and can help the other person in understanding the whole
situation in detail.
