INTRODUCTION
The role of management has been significant in the professional scenario. It is vital for the
individual that they possess substantial insights into management areas so that they could
fulfil their personal and professional responsibilities effectively. A study has been conducted
which focuses on explaining the group work through the help of teamwork and motivational
theories. In addition to this, a self-analysis has been conducted in the study by considering
the PDP and CVF. The overall analysis would be helpful in gaining a substantial
understanding of management principles which would be helpful in future.
REPORT
The visit to the Museum of London with the group members has been helpful in gaining
substantial insights regarding the historical persons and artefacts. We are working in a
group of three members and we were working on a task of identifying the most historic
person. The person which we have chosen for our group is Mohammed Ali who is a well-
known person in the world. The group presentation on Mohammed Ali has been helpful in
gaining significant insights regarding group work. There are various theories and models
which could be utilized to reflect the activities which are carried during the group
presentation.
Initially, the team has been developed through the application of teamwork models such as
Tuckman's Theory and STAR Team Model. The application of Tuckman's Theory has been
helpful in understanding the stages under which the team is developed. There are four
phases on which the Tuckman's Teamwork Theory has been based on such as forming,
storming, norming, and performing (THM, 2019). The application of these phases in our
group has been presented below:
PHASE 1 - The forming phase is considered as the initial stage for the team development
where the individuals are not gelled together effectively. At this stage, the group members
are asked to work in a new team (THM, 2019). The team members in the group are three in
number which also includes me. In this stage, we started to gel with each other and trying to
understand each other perspective.

PHASE 2 – Storming is considered as the phase where the team members try to work as a
team. Here, the team members start challenging each other which result in situations like
conflicts, confrontation, etc. A significant loss in the productivity of the team could be
experienced (THM, 2019). At this stage, our group also experienced certain challenges with
each other that lead to huge conflicts but somehow it managed in the end.
PHASE 3 – The third phase is norming where the team members started to work together,
develop processes, establish rules, and explain the roles and responsibilities of each other. It
could also be referred to as the state of togetherness (THM, 2019). Our group started
working together at this phase and understand the group objectives. It helps in working
effectively and achieving the required goal.
PHASE 4 – The last phase is performing where the key focus is on team relationship and
tasks whose combination results in synergy. The effective working of the team results in
high performance (THM, 2019). Our group also worked together in order to order to achieve
the objective of building a presence on the historical aspect.
Tuckman's Theory is helpful in explaining the stages through which the team is developed
and further achieve its objectives. Apart from teamwork, the role of leadership is also
important for the team which could be explained through the help of the STAR Team Model
in our group. The STAR Team Model is based on the stages, situation, and surrounding of
the teamwork theory and assists the team and team leader to focus on required aspects
(THM, 2019). The effective team is developed through the consideration of three key
aspects which are collaborated through one major element i.e. alignment. The key aspects
are mentioned below:
Strengths – The individual strength is determined which helps in flourishing the individual.
Here, the focus is on the individual strength which assists the individual to contribute in an
effective manner (THM, 2019). In our group, every member has different strengths like
interest in the sports field, good leadership, and highly motivated. The combination of these
attributes has been helpful in conducting the group presentation effectively.

other which assist us in carrying the group task in an effective manner. We worked together
in the Museum to determine the most suitable historical person for our group work.
Results – When the strength of the individual collaborates with the teamwork then it helps
in achieving the required goal effectively (THM, 2019). The goal of our group is to develop a
group presentation on a historical person i.e. Mohammed Ali.
The strengths, teamwork, and results collaborate with the alignment which helps in
reaching the desired goal and accomplishing various benefits. In addition to this, there are
various motivational models which are accompanied in the group presentation that help in
achieving the required goal. The motivation in the team could be effectively explained
through the help of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Herzberg’s Hygiene Model.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is based on five stages such as physiological needs, safety
needs, love and belongingness needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. These
needs are applied in the group presentation in order to assist the team members to achieve
significant motivation which would be helpful in gaining substantial benefits. The needs
have been classified in different categories such as physiological, safety, love and
belongingness, esteem, and self-actualization needs where the fulfilment of certain needs
lead to other need (McLeod, 2018). In the group presentation, every team member is
working with a certain need such as good grade, knowledge, recognition, information, etc.
The needs of the team members have been fulfilled at different stages of the group
presentation which helps in motivating them and working effectively.
The other motivational model is Herzberg's Hygiene Model which also helps in motivating
the team members in the group. There are two factors on which the Herzberg model is
based on such as motivation and hygiene. These factors ensure that the satisfaction should
be developed and the certain factors should be eliminated which result dissatisfaction. In
our group, there are certain times when the individuals in the group are highly dissatisfied
with the progress of the project and highly satisfied at some time (EBA, 2019). The team
members would in collaboration to assist each other regarding the progress of the group
presentation and helping in reaching the required goal. Every team member works with high
productivity to gain information regarding Mohammed Ali in order to describe his skills and
attributes effectively. Overall, it could be stated that the group presentation has been

in the Museum to determine the most suitable historical person for our group work.
Results – When the strength of the individual collaborates with the teamwork then it helps
in achieving the required goal effectively (THM, 2019). The goal of our group is to develop a

DESCRIPTION
Understanding the place to work and deliver the best possible results can be possible with
the help of personal skills possessed currently and continuous development plans. While, at
the same time, analysing the skills and determining future needs is also an essential task
which needs to be performed frequently to create a personal and professional level of
competition within and for others. With respect to my personal experiences, skills and
knowledge I have gained, I utilised them in the presentation task and final results are
presented on CVF report. These below mentioned description of my CVF report with deepen
analysis so as to develop some future needs in my career for further development and
growth.
PERSONAL STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
Particularly, I can say that the skills like captainship, responsibility of representation,
punctuality, social nature, trust towards others, friendly & approachable behaviour, open
minded skills with curiosity, temper control and many more are some of the key skills that I
also see as my strengths. These skills are my strengths which I had gained in my life from
several employment opportunities like McDonalds, Dagenham Park Church of England
School 2012 (School), Primelodge Estates – 2015, Tesco till now.
In terms of some of my weaknesses, as no one is an ideal person in life, I also possess some
shortcomings which I had to overcome from like short tempered nature, inquisitiveness
about things which sometimes waste my time, reducing dedication and motivation with
time and hence these have to be developed in future as my strengths. In addition to this,
since I am performing regular communication practices with the customers, employees and
subordinates etc.

The presentation developed by me and my team members has gave me an opportunity to
acknowledge my current skill sets and determine the future needs. The CVF report consists
of the description of the current skills, skills which I utilised and the needs in coming three
years. So, in terms of understanding self and others I have rated myself 4 out of 5 and
utilised same but I think for this, I will require some additional work to develop this more
similarly for the communication, monitoring, managing teams and working with them with
honesty. So, I collaboratively rated myself with 20 marks and I require it to be 24. Organizing
information flows, Working and managing across functions, Planning and coordinating
projects, Encouraging and enabling compliance and Measuring and monitoring performance
and quality are the aspects that I had collaboratively rated 15 while working in the
presentation but these aspects require more hard and smart work so that I can gain the
marking till 23.
Using power ethically and effectively, Championing and selling new ideas, Fueling and
fostering innovation, Negotiating agreement and commitment, Implementing and sustaining
change are some areas on which I have to work far more in future with a proper developed
plan to achieve a competitive rating of 25 marks. So, i have to work on Developing and
communicating a vision, Setting goals and objectives, Motivating self and others, Designing
and organizing, Managing execution and driving for results with the notion to create a
influencing and motivating path for future.
