effective and efficient way. Team working help to make good relationship with co-workers

with each other properly. It also enhance more communication within the group because without
communication team work is useless and the most important factor which must be consider
under team working is coordination which describe the effectiveness of any team in any
field(Holland, 2019).In context of nursing, team work is very important due to further reasons- Improves patient satisfaction and outcome- in healthcare professions the teams are made
for nurses, primary care physicians and specialists and their main aim is to enhance the
and look after the health of each and every patient in their hospitals. An hospital has huge
number of patients. So, it is impossible to handle all patients together by a single person,

that's why they form a team to look after every patient and coordinate with each other for
any requirements which further help in improving patients satisfaction level and it
reduces the burden of a single person. Higher job satisfaction- nursing careers are having lot of stress due to their long hour of
working in critical situations of patients. It is compulsory them to form a team to reduce
their burden and enjoy their daily responsibilities which make them more happy and
satisfied by their jobs.
Lower rates of turnover- staff turnover is the biggest issue in hospitals and one of the
main reason is that employees are assigned with lot of responsibilities which they have to
completed in short period of time (Eisenberg, Post and DiTomaso, 2019). Hence, team
work help them to complete assigned work with others who has same ability and
capabilities. Teamwork help employees to reduce stress and love their job which further
impact to declining in number of total turnover from hospitals.
Ability of team working in nursing
It is very necessary to have some special skills to work in a team and these skills and
abilities are explained below-
Communication skills- This is the most important skill in nursing field which must
gained by an individual to work with a team effectively and efficiently(Mayer and et. al., 2019).
Written, verbal and other all form of communication is necessary where an individual explain
their ideas with body language so others will understand the things very easily. Team work
consist with communication skill because when 4-5 or more people are doing the same task in
hospital and did not communicate with each other that which part of work is done by whom and
which not then this will create a major confusion between team mates and sometimes it also
leads to develop wrong direction of doing work in absence of communication. Hence,
communication is essential for smooth and effective working environment in a team.
Problem solving skills- For completing an task in health care it might be possible that
obstacles or key issues will create and when the task is done by a group of people then the
percentage of arising problems must increases (Li and Yue, 2019). Problems like conflicts, did
not like each other ideas, time management, lack of knowledge and many other factors are
common in hospitals team work. Hence, it is compulsory for each team member that they have
the capability of solving problem on the spot when it arises. For example, when 4 people are

took the charge of patients and support the case manager in during analysing the investigation

patients treatment summery and the developing patients care plan and conducive and ordering

in a team to realise the goals of patient care need and improve their healthcare service delivery in
more effective manner. Teamwork in nursing is crucial and rational reason for this evidence
based research is that nurses are working closely alongside of specialise and physicians in order
